We had just eaten lunch so another restaurant with a view was out of the picture. We heard about this Puzzle Mansion but we were hesitant to go because it just sounded boring to most of us. But we were almost halfway out of Tagaytay and we needed to go somewhere before we change our minds and just head home. So we took a left turn going to the Puzzle Mansion. The road going to the mansion was quite steep so we decided to park our car nearby and just go for the jeepney shuttle they offer to guests (for 10 pesos). That was the most fun part of the tour for me. The Puzzle Museum was interesting; they showcase over a thousand of puzzles from the most basic ones (think Disney Princesses and Barbie) to the more elaborate ones. The owner also holds the Guinness World Record for completing the biggest puzzle in the world. At the second floor, there's an area where you can have your picture made into a puzzle, and for those inspired by the museum, there are some tables where you can practice your puzzle-solving skills. They also have a garden where they sell different kinds of plants and we bought around five pots. This place was just okay for me. It would probably be a nice stopover for an educational field trip, but it scores low on the fun meter, and is not a place for friends or family bonding.

The herb roasted chicken is definitely my biggest recommendation here, as it's so delicious and smells amazing. Their binagoongan rice is also excellent, and goes well with your meals. Our party was mixed with both a la carte and their prix fixe classic menu that already had set courses, which ended up confusing our table a little bit (how to tell your lola they can't eat my bread...) so I recommend sticking to one type for all if possible. The servers kept it under control though and were friendly, had good rapport with our family, and kept everything refilled. We came on a weekday lunch and it was empty, and felt like we had the entire venue for a private lunch - highly recommend if you're able to come during the week!

PROS: Of course, the movie itself was entertaining. Who doesn't want to see Fat Amy almost showing her fanny? Lola fell asleep though (she said she still enjoyed it). CONS: There's no reserved seating. When you get your tickets earlier, you have to make sure you fall in line outside of the actual theater to get decent seats, lest you be placed right in front of the screen. We got there 15 minutes before the movie was supposed to start, and the queue was crazy long. Thank you, Lola, because your senior citizen perks made us skip the line; There was litter all around and you're scared to sit and relax because it feels like there's bedbugs in their seats; No "outside food" allowed inside the theater? What is this, 2003?; Why is there a funky, feet-like smell wafting through the air?; WHY DO YOU KEEP CUTTING IN FRONT OF THE BATHROOM LINES, PEOPLE? TL;DR: I refuse to sound like an entitled city b*tch, but this movie house was plain horrific. We're taking you to Nuvali next time, Lola.
