Franco's Auto Service has been in Kamloops for, well, as long as i can remember and arguably the most respected independent auto service business in Kamloops. Franco's unofficially specializes in the higher end European and Japanese vehicles but don't worry he will work on your POS as well :P Franco is one of those old school European trades people, he takes his craft and reputation VERY seriously. An ex-Ferrari race mechanic (yea, no kidding!); although, he has long since stopped turning wrenches himself and has focused on running his business. I understand that Franco expects the same pride in their craft of his technicians as he has, thus they are among the best in Kamloops. Francos' boasts very clean, bright and organized facility... I don't think eating off the floor would be recommended, but you probably could, safely. A full service shop, from oil changes in your Ford Focus to replacing the transmission in your 5 series BMW, at rates that are better than the dealer. Aside to the service, Franco does deal in used vehicles to a minor degree (usually 1/2 dozen vehicles at a time), offering mostly VW and Honda. These cars are generally in very good shape, thus not cheap used, but quality used.

BMW was closed and these guys helped us with a low engine coolant and a pressure check to ensure that we would make it back to Vancouver. Amazing service for a last minute call. We spoke to some locals after dropping the vehicle off and they all spoke so highly of them. On our return they showed us that we also needed to check the turbo engine coolant. He was willing to safety both units and I was giving the option to buy them as is. He sent me a list of repairs needed but forgot to mention the trailer frame is rusted through. Demanded a deposit online I sent him my credit card he charged it $1000 which is a normal process. I sent a friend of mine to take a look at the units and he faced time me to show many, many problems that the salesman did not disclose! Here are my concerns. One, how can you offer to CVIP a trailer with a rusty frame ! And two what is the reason not to refund a customer deposit after they physically look at the unit and decided not to go through with the deal and three , honestly goes a long way. Do the right thing and refund the deposit because we both know you will have to do that it's not optional.

Traveling through town on our way to Banff in our converted school bus when we realized we put…read morepower steering fluid into the brake fluid reservoir by mistake. After some googling, we realized what a HUGE mistake this was and immediately took it in to be flushed and have the master cylinder replaced. (Necessary since power steering fluid WRECKS a brake system. ) The guys at Gemm were quick to give us an estimate and order the part we needed so we could get back on the road. We did have to spend one night in their parking lot since we live in our bus and the part was coming from out of town, but they were so nice about it and even showed us where we could plug the bus in to charge up our house batteries. The work took a third of the time they estimated, so we paid several hundred dollars less than we expected to. Overall SUPER happy with the service we got here and highly recommend!
