They were so filling I could only eat one of the 2 enchiladas that were on the platter. The sweet pork was tasty but I could see people not liking it if they are looking for a more authentic Mexican flavour. I finished off my meal with a refreshing horchata. Tastes like the milk in the bowl after you have Cinnamon Toast Crunch It's a bit of a confusing system to order but I think it will go more smoothly next time. My sister who lives in Calgary also makes use of their loyalty program which seems to pay off really well. Would definitely check it out before ordering. I will be craving this place until the next chance I get to come through Calgary. Hey Costa Vida! I think it's time to expand to Edmonton!

Thought it would be like the typical fast food Mexican kind of place. It defiantly was not. I am a fan now. Walking in, its clean, modern and smelt so good. I looked at the menu at the counter and decided to order something somewhat healthy. I ordered a veggie quesadilla, which they made fresh in front of me. Love that. Grilling the veggies as well as adding anything extra I may want in it (lettuce, cheese, beans etc. etc.) Only waited a few minutes and in the meantime, reviewed the rest of the menu. Some really great things and I took mental note for next time. The three staff members were so friendly and nice. They took orders quick and made things as quick as possible too. Since it was close to dinner time, this place was quiet busy. Some customers where staying in and some were doing take out. The place was definitely steady with customers. Which was great since I got to see some of the other things people ordered. My veggie quesadilla was really fantastic. Since the portions were big, I thought I would eat half of it but I ate it all and in one sitting. Impressive. Yummy. Will be back again and next time to try a Big Ass Burrito!!!

Which means you get zero service. In general, I did not like my food. The filling in my taco was cheap and flavorless. My husband had their stew special and thought it was ok but nothing to be blown away about especially with the price they charged. There are better Mexican restaurants in the city. I would head there instead.

I have eaten here 5x, picked up twice and ordered Doordash today…read more Nachos in-house is much better than ordering. This is my favourite dish they serve but the amount of cheese was too generous. The grease was so overwhelming it soaked all the chips to the point of transparency. I think they have different cooks often, as sometimes the nachos chips are bomb, and other days just so-so. There wasn't much cilantro today and this dish tastes best with an even portion cilantro and onion mix. Quesadilla, this one was very good! Perfect mix of cilantro, onion and cheese. The spicy sauce on the side was also very good. Doordash menu says served with salsa, but I don't think it is (see photo) Tres Leches, this one seemed really soggy at first with not a lot of flavor, but the more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. Everytime I dine-in, it is sold out, so I am glad out of those 7 times, I finally got to try it, as all Mexican restaurants do it differently. I appreciate the portion sizes of all 3 items I ordered, especially during these "shrinkflation" days. If you haven't checked out Casa Catrina, you have to give it a try. It is in a hidden strip mall, and when you go inside, it brings you back to traditional Mexico, Mexican servers and live music on weekends. Have a shot of tequila at the bar, and make sure you try their guacamole!

We ordered 9 tacos because our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but we also wanted to try most of the flavors they offer. Plus they're 3/$10. Our pizza box takeout container was heavy - both in weight and aroma - making the car ride home excruciating. The tacos are traditional Mexican style with two small corn tortillas per taco, but each one had so much filling that we knew we were in trouble. But we didn't hesitate, and nearly polished off all of them before falling into a deep food coma. Here's our thoughts: Fish taco - excellent. Love the hot mayo sauce, fish nice an delicate, flavorful. Beef - hands down our fave. Brisket that's clearly marinated in something heavenly. Pork (carnitas) - typically my favorite, but the beef was more flavorful. Still excellent though. Tinga - tender marinated shredded chicken had lots of flavor. Chorizo & Bean - I didn't like it as much, but it was my hubby's 2nd place ribbon. Tons of meat. Breaded chicken - not a ton of flavor, but still good. Just didn't stand out when compared to the other excellent flavors. We will definitely be back!!!

I went to Tacos Mexico for the first time last week with my friend who is from Mexico. We ordered an assortment of dishes, including 3 types of tacos (asada, cochinita pibil, and gobernador) and chorizo sopes. Everything tasted amazing. My friend said this was the closest thing to home he's had in Calgary. The gobernador especially somehow takes a notch above just "shrimp and cheese" tacos. The grill flavor was prominent on the appropriate dishes. I did find the food overall to be just a touch undersalted, but I added my own salt which is no problem. All that food which left us absolutely stuffed only cost $40-something including tax and tip. My friend has gone back 3 more times since, which really is a testament to just how delicious and authentic this spot is.
