I only had two asada wish I got more before heading back home. Give it a try! There's no tables or chairs and no bathrooms.

Yelp Mexico Badge + Taco Crawl = ¡El mejor y delicioso día de todos!…read more After the first two street vendor taco crawls, Taco Isabel was our (with Yelp Buddies Ran C. and Isobel L.) third street vendor taco crawl/stop before hitting up Avenida Revolución. Ran had eaten here before and he liked it, and so of course, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to try out their birria taco. When in Rome (well, Mexico, lol!)... Side Note: The first two vendors do not have their own Yelp page nor permanent spot locations. First vendor was Tacovarios La Guerita ($1.25 breakfast bistec con papas taco) and the second vendor was Tacos Veloz ($2 for birria taco + Mexican Coca-Cola). For $1.20, their birria was tender, meaty and a generous portion too! Dipped in the birria's juices and topped with cilantro and onions, I would get this again! Served with two corn tortillas, I especially, loved that they fry them up a bit. Not only does it give that yummy and crunchy effect, but it also holds up the fillings nicely. I would have gotten the Adobada (similar to al pastor) as well, but I needed to save room for the rest of our trip, hehe! Service: The staff here are friendly and quick. Just tell them what kind of taco(s) you want, and it'll be ready within less than five minutes. When you're done eating, you can give them back the plastic plates (a lot of the street taco vendors recycle their plastic plates - some have plastic bags wrapped over them while others rinse them out). You'll also pay after you're done eating (opposite end of the cart). Taco Isabel accepts both American money and pesos. Ambience and Décor: Al fresco, street dining, hehe! Watch out for cars. They have a few chairs to sit on behind their cart. There's also a counter (standing room only) in front of their cart. Definitely recommend checking out Taco Isabel. Their birria is tasty and getting the Adobada next time!

Tacos El Poblano - Flame on the meat

Whenever I'm in Tijuana on the Otay side, I will stop by this taco location to get a quick bite…read more It has a very small seating area and has decent parking. The tacos are simple and come a few varieties (asada, al pastor, etc) along with a selection of soft drinks and waters. For those looking for quick taco fix while waiting in the line back to the USA, this is the place (on the Otay Mesa side)

I guess everything is relative. There are a couple of great taco places in Tijuana that I love to…read morego to whenever I am here for work [about every 3 weeks]. Today I was in the Otay side and didn't want to drive to Tijuana crossing so I looked up a taco place and "El Poblano". First, traffic outside was crazy and if you pull into the parking lot, you will have to back into that crazy traffic. Not great. I wanted one "tripas" taco and one "adobada" taco and had to get into two lines and pay twice. That was odd. Thank goodness there was no line when I got there but after I sat down, there was a decently long line. The meat wasn't bad but the guacamole sauce was not seasoned. Also, they had some radishes but they were not sliced. No carrots and jalapenos in vinegar but they did have some grilled jalapenos. I like the cucumbers and sliced radishes that so many of the good places will offer YET these were expensive. At 45 pesos [$2.65] for the adobada and 70 pesos [$4.38] for the tripas. I was a little surprised because I can get shrimp tacos for that price at another taco place not far from here.

******Update in response to the owner's reply:…read more I appreciate the response, but I need to correct a few factual inaccuracies. I spoke with Laura on Thursday, July 30, not Sandra. During that conversation, I was never told there was "one remaining opening" for my date or that I needed to place a deposit immediately because another customer could take the time slot. If that had been communicated, I would have understood the urgency and made a decision that day. I did tell Laura that my mom and I expected to finalize everything by Friday. Unfortunately, we weren't able to make our final decision until Saturday morning, August 1, when I called back ready to book. At that point, I was told the original service window was no longer available. The alternatives offered were 12:30 PM-3:30 PM or 1:00 PM-3:30 PM. Since my baby shower begins at 1:00 PM, starting service before guests arrive was not practical, and the 1:00-3:30 PM option reduced the service time while the quoted price remained the same. My disappointment has never been that another customer booked before I paid a deposit. My concern is that the urgency described in the owner's response was not communicated to me during my conversation, and that made the situation very different from what is now being presented publicly. ********************************************* I strongly caution anyone against relying on Tacos & Gorditas for an important event. I called on Thursday, July 30, and provided all of the details for my baby shower, including the date, location, guest count, event start time, and requested service. I received a verbal quote and an emailed written quote that same day for my August 15 event. The quote listed a 1:00 PM serving time and stated that service was for three hours. I called back on Saturday, August 1, only two days later, ready to move forward. At that point, I was told they had booked another event later that afternoon and could no longer accommodate the service window connected to my quote. They offered 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM instead, even though they knew my event did not begin until 1:00 PM. I was then told that they "do not save dates." That policy was never made clear to me when I called on July 30 or when the quote was sent. Had I been plainly told that the date and time could be given away at any moment unless I paid immediately, I would have either paid then or continued searching. Instead, I reasonably believed I had received a valid quote and had a normal opportunity to review it and call back. Their own written terms also referenced a five-business-day period for submitting the deposit, which made the sudden loss of the workable time slot even more frustrating. This left me scrambling to replace catering for 50 guests only fourteen days before my baby shower. Offering service before guests were even scheduled to arrive was not a realistic solution. The problem is not simply that another customer booked. The problem is the lack of transparency and professional communication after they had already quoted my event. Their pricing may be attractive, but a low quote is meaningless if the company will not clearly explain how quickly availability can disappear. I would not trust them with an event where timing and reliability matter.
