Stepping out of my car, I saw the sign stand had a QR code and a small menu. There wasn't a line and a only a few people were waiting for their orders. I looked at the menu on the window and learned that the menu is limited. After looking it over, I ordered the Birria Vampiros. It took less than 5 minutes to get my order. I sat down at tine of the nice wooden bench table with blue umbrellas and unwrapped the bag. In front of my eyes were two fried eggs, underneath that was a juicy, tender lamb and a cheese concoction. All nestled in top of a freshly made corn tortilla. I found out it was still hot when I tried to pick it up. No matter, I moved a bit of the nestled tapa topping to let the steam escape. In the second attempt, success led to an amazing combination of crunch, cheese, tender pulled meat with diced onions, cilantro, lime and red salsa... Twilight Zone experience. They were aware well in advance of the scheduled serving time, but they arrived late and were not ready to serve when needed. This caused a significant delay in our itinerary and affected the flow of an event that had been carefully planned for months. What was especially frustrating was that at the end of the evening, her husband complained that this was not the type of service they normally provide for a quinceañera. Since they knew from the beginning that they were being hired specifically for a quinceañera, I felt those concerns should have been addressed beforehand rather than after the event. On a positive note, we did not receive any complaints about the food, and there was plenty for our guests. I did pay the full amount we agreed upon despite the issues. However, I was disappointed with how everything was handled. During an event as important as a quinceañera, the family is surrounded by guests and focused on making the day special, so there really isn't an appropriate opportunity to stop everything and address problems with a vendor as they are happening. For that reason, I believe vendors hired for special events have an added responsibility to arrive on time, be prepared, and honor what was agreed upon. Families put a great deal of time, money, and trust into these celebrations, and that should be respected. I ordered a traditional taco as well (bacon and egg taco). Once you order from the window, they bring your order to your car. You can also call ahead with your ahead.
