Tiny-sized Mexican flair in the middle of Erlangen!
This place might be tiny, but it has its grand moments nevertheless!
Most important, the food: They offer burritos, quesadillas, wraps, nachos and many other things, most of them in plenty of variations: pollo (nothing else than chicken), beef, veggie, chili con carne, and some other ones that I forgot. The food may not be entirely authentic, but then again it's kind of impossible to find authentic Mexican food anywhere around here - it could also be a bit spicier, but you can always spice it up afterwards with the sauces on the table, or just ask the lovely girls or boys behind the counter to make it extra extra spicey!
So far I tried burritos, quesadillas, nachos and mini-burritos. While none of the choices was in any way "bad", I think I found my favourite with the quesadillas! I've certainly had better burritos, but the quesadillas are just ridiculously good! Not too much cheese, yet enough to stick the entire stuffing together, consisting of beans, chicken and sweet corn (Quesadilla Pollo). Crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside - absolutely lovely!!!
The atmosphere is nice - it's a cute little corner shop just off the city centre, there are just a few tables and if you don't feel like sitting down, you can always get the food for take away. The girls and what I presume is the owner are really nice and always like to crack a joke or two, making sure you have a thoroughly pleasant experience.
The service is absolutely fast and from time to time they offer specials as well. Try the Hot Caipirina next time your there, it's fantastic! (especially during winter!)
Bottom line:
* Might not be absolutely authentic Mexican food...
* ... but the friendliness of the staff and place as such...
* ... and the varieties of food you can order...
* ...absolutely make up for it! read more
