They go under (Grullense's Tacos) on DoorDash, but I've always known them as Tacos El Grullo from high school up til now. Had the best Burritos, tacos and a Smokey red & green salsa that stood out among the rest. Service was always great! Placed an order through DoorDash and they were on it and had it on the way in less than 15min which was awesome! I ordered the (California Burrito) which comes with fries, pico, cheese and "choice of meat" I always opt for Asada cause it's preference and I like it. Normally a California Burrito also comes with guac but I opted not to pay the extra for a side of it. The burrito was HUGE! normally I've gotten burritos from here that fit inside this one. But here's the problem. The fries are better on their own. Not in this burrito. The tortilla was thin so you could feel the thickness of them through the burrito that they started to rip through. The fries were great! Loved to have a side of them. Crispy, well seasoned, soft in the middle. Just didn't deserve to be in this burrito. Pico was overpowering, hardly any cheese and mostly at the bottom of the burrito. The meat was very fatty towards the middle and bottom. Overall not too bad on the seasoning, but I've definitely had better from them. I also ordered an Al Pastor Taco and a side of grilled onions and Serrano Chilis. They're a little more spicier than jalapeños. The taco shell was very greasy but had a great overall flavor. The meat on the other hand was not good. It was overly salty, way too finely chopped to where it was just mush. Took a few bites but couldn't finish it and it was a small taco for $3 and change. Gonna be a pass for me. Side Note: this spot does charge for extra salsas and they are 50 cents on the app. The salsas that I once remembered and loved left a different taste on my tastebuds. The green sauce did not pair well at all with the California Burrito, it gave it a weird Smokey/Sweet flavor that was thrown off completely from the French fries texture and flavor. I got toward the end and didn't even finish all my sauces and ate the burrito dry. It just didn't add anything good by using it. I'm a sauce guy too! So that was disappointing. Overall I would try coming back, I would get a regular or wet burrito and try the chorizo next time. read more

Tacos El Grullo - California Burrito; comes with cheese, pico, French fries and choice of meat. - Mexican Near Me - Visalia, California

I've been coming for as long as I remember. That staff has changed throughout the years, but the care that goes into every order and conversation doesn't go unnoticed. Lately I tend to go on Sunday's after church and I always see the same people who make it a tradition and you know have been coming here for years. I've only ever tried the tacos and the tortas and have never been disappointed. My wife tends to get the breakfast burrito and adds asada and beans with some green salsa. She enjoys it just as much as I do. The place has really come up through the years and it has that modern look and no where near that hole in the wall place it looked to resemble like. The bathrooms are newly renovated and super clean nothing compared to what they use to be many years ago. read more

Service was good, as it usually is, but today's visit was a bit disappointing. I ordered three tacos, a burrito, and a torta de carnitas. While the meat was flavorful and well-prepared, the bread on the torta was burnt -- something that should never make it out of the kitchen. I hope this was just an off day, because they're typically consistent, but quality control definitely slipped this time. read more

Would leave 0 stars if I could. 10/15/24 Call and no answer, business hours state their open till 11 but the lights were all off at 1045 With two black cars parked out back. You guys should update the hours so people don't waste their time coming out here. Also hire someone to answer the phone. If you're looking for a consistent spot at all times of the day / night go across the street to tacos La villa or chalios on Caldwell. Don't waste your time here read more

Poor service. They don't answer the phone. Trying to get my pregnant wife some food. Called about 13 times. When they finally answered they put me on hold for 7+ mins. I hung up, called again, and they kept forwarding my call. They answered again, and were laughing when I asked if they were open and wanted business. I have ate here for years, quality of service has gone far down. Not even worthy of a star. You lost my business. read more

Asada tacos are the best. Would not recommend Birria or pork. The birra didn't taste fresh. And the pork tacos come with little to no meat. Tuesday's are the busiest and the tacos are 1.50$ read more

MULTIPLE PIECES of hair in my asada fries. I called and they didn't even care or apologize.

I ordered in Uber Eats and got a Super Burrito de tripa, Torta de Lengua, and a plain bean burrito.. What I got was a friggin burrito de arroz con tripa, a Torta de Torta hardly any Lengua, and a simple bean burrito with the cheese not even melted.. Shit for what I paid I almost want a refund... The worst experience I've had there ever and I've been there in person a couple dozen times over the years.. Extremely disappointed.. Fell off for sure... Shoulda ordered the papa John's bogo pizza deal.. For cheaper too! And not a single salsa... read more

Tacos El Grullo - Mexican Near Me - Visalia, California

Came on a Tuesday night around 5PM with 3 other friends while staying in Visalia. We came for the Taco Tuesdays special $1 for a selected few meats. I ordered the al pastor, Chile verde, and cabeza. We each had 3 tacos each and a large carne asada fries to share. The tacos were really yummy and travels pretty well (for 5 mins) and the staff wrap it in aluminum foil to keep warm, the tacos are served with pickled carrots (still crunchy!!). The meats for the tacos were pretty tender and flavorful. We were slightly disappointed in the fries, I wished the fries were more crunchy and crispy - the carne asada on top was generous but maybe a suggestion would be to include guacamole or avocados on top. The only concern would be during pick up - make sure to mask up and be aware of how many people are inside (it should only be 8 at a time). Food was pretty great, great value on Taco Tuesdays! read more

Been going here for years. There are times when this is the most delicious Mexican food in the world and times you wish you got something else. Nonetheless the service is always very friendly and fast and I never have issues with the orders being prepared on time and to exact spec. read more

Service was fast & easy. We've heard a lot of good reviews so we decided to try; the food was bad quality we had ordered two burritos & a side of rice and beans. Both burritos were super oily to the point where the tortilla was falling apart from how much oil it was consumed in . Both the outside & inside of the burrito was dripping in oil. We were severely disappointed & won't be coming back . read more

Ordered off DoorDash. Food was layered in grease. Quac was a tannish brown color. Decided not to finish and threw food out

The food was not what I wanted and did not look like the picture I seen online. Definitely won't be getting asada fries there again, service was nice though, Nice cashier and servers, the ambiance was ok. read more

Ordered from Postmates. Didn't care for it at all. I ordered a Torta and requested to have only cheese and tomatoes. Instead I got a plain torta! Just the meat and beans and I was so disappointed. I also asked for salsa and I did not get that. The flavoring of the carne asada was decent. read more

If you go somewhere to eat, you expect to get a decent amount for what you paid for, especially if the price is a little up there. Today i wanted to fill my Mexican craving with some carnitas rice and beans and was highly disappointed and dissatisfied. And because I got it to go it's like they cared less and gave me less. The beans I only got 3 bites of, the carnitas didn't even fill the section. The rice I guess was an okay amount. Just dissatisfied. Like why would you guys go out of your way to skimp out on your customers. I won't ever come back. I can say the lady that took my order was really nice and kind. read more

Haven't been to this spot in awhile and I'm sadly disappointed. They don't cook how they used to..the rice and beans were old and over seasoned . The chicken burrito I ordered had alot of grease. They don't cook with love anymore. Also they don't greet you when you walk in everyone looks so annoyed to be there. Do BETTER. read more

I've tried the asada/chili verde tacos/burrito (with the fixings) and menudo. It was some good eating. I like that the salsas are spicy, especially the red one. A red and green salsa usually came with my order and I pour salsa with every bite. I asked for some extra salsa and believe they were charging $1 for that tiny (maybe 1oz) container. Definitely a reason why I don't go there often. I can't even enjoy my meal without spending another $10 for salsa. If I ain't spicy I ain't eating. Haha Good food though. read more

Best place in Visalia to stop for some great tacos! Highly recommend the lengua tacos or the wet burritos. The red salsa is spicy so if you're not into spicy food, I recommend you ask to get your tacos without it or with the green salsa instead. The service is good but when it gets packed the wait can be longer so I recommend you call to make your order. They also have Taco Tuesday 99 cents tacos (asada, lengua, buche, carnitas). read more

Tacos El Grullo - 21 tacos for less than $32.00 on Taco Tuesday! - Mexican Near Me - Visalia, California

Tacos El Grullo, get your act together!!! What the hell has happened to this place? I've been coming here off and on for two years and my last four visits have been very very (did I mention very very) bad. Let's start by the taking of the order of the food; either there is a language barrier between the order taker and the cooks, because when I receive my receipt it never reflects what I ordered. The carne asada burrito not being prepared how I ordered and the tripes was too hard. You should take notice that a new Mexican grill spot is being built right across from you and I'll be easily taking my business across the street when complete. At the rate at which your quality of food and service is degrading, it will be a welcome when Taco Bell takes over your spot. read more

Another day another Mexican food review! I am big into tacos, so of course I tried 4 of their taco options! Chicken - Delicious seasoning! My favorite of the 4. Asada - Pretty basic, my second favorite of the 4. Pastor - My least favorite, didn't have much flavor. Carnitas - Very juicy, but lacked the crunch I prefer from carnitas. My friend ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was delicious! The chicken to cheese ratio was great and they pre-cut it into bite size pieces! I'll be back, especially when in the middle Mooney area!! read more

I came here looking for a quick and delicious lunch and I left out 30 dollars, still hungry and annoyed. I walked in and placed my order and usually, I feel like in these quick places the server should be nice and patient and that was not the case I felt like he was short in conversation, and I get it maybe he didn't feel like talking but we should be able to feel welcomed and not ignored. And to top it off the food was awful. I ordered Asada fries and my husband a burrito. My fries were way too overpowered by Tapatio It was mind-blowing why someone would add it in as their salsa. The burrito I was told was burnt and dry. we were the only people in the restaurant so we were left alone and decided to throw the food out and just go somewhere else. I hope it was just a bad day and the food is better otherwise I do not understand why they are still open. read more

Hands down the best breakfast burrito in town! The ratio of meat to egg to cheese to potatoes is perfect. Been coming here for last few years consistently just to get breakfast burritos. It's become a once or twice a week thing now and even a family tradition when everyone comes to town the next morning we always come get their burritos! Lil tip as well, add cilantro or extra cheese to give it a little more juice read more

What happened to this place?? Is it under new ownership? It used to be so good, but the last few times I've gotten it, it is garbage. I wouldn't give it to my dog!! It was BAD guys. I got a Chile verde burrito that tasted like clove or cinnamon and that's all you could taste. I don't leave bad comments, like ever but this, was AWFUL. Got a taco as well and the asada was so chewy and full of fat. I don't know what's happened to it in the last year, but I'm surprised it has any business. Retrain the cooks or change the recipes to the original. I can't believe I paid for this. read more

I ordered on Uber eats & apparently they don't have the ingredients I asked for. Should definitely contact the customer and let them know so they can order else where before spending money on food they will not eat. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have guacamole? I love this place! My go to taco joint. Just awesome old school tacos and burritos. The micheladas are on point and they have a tone of other food options but the tacos are so good be never had anything else. Come try it for yourself! They have taco Tuesday 1$ tacos too! read more

They closed before the posted time on Yelp and Google. We went there late at night as it showed it was open to find out they closed early.

If you're looking for quality food and service then avoid this restaurant. During my order of 7 tacos, I asked for the salsa to be on the side rather than on the taco given that it was my first time coming here. I was only given two little cups of salsa and any additional salsa would have a fee. I would think since I asked for salsa on the side that I would get a fair amount for the tacos, but that was not the case. In addition, I do not believe I've ever had tacos with so much grease on the tortilla. I literally had oil floating around the plate. I wish I did take a picture to upload. Overall, if you're looking for good tacos, this is not the place. read more

Giving it a four star because there's times when they give me the wrong meat but usually everything is really good here so I can't complain on that, it's just that when craving a certain meat that's what you'd want. This morning I finally had time to get one of their breakfast burritos, sorry for no pics, but I got a bacon one and my girl got a Chile verde one and they were both really good! Price was around $18 for both but they fill you up and the green salsa for it makes it more delicious! Service wise I did a phone call order straight to hold but it's better than a no answer and they do get pretty busy at times so it's understandable, and once picking up the order it's always quick and easy with no trouble or issues. Would keep coming just please get the meat correct :) read more
