(From May, 2024)…read more Whoever put this on YELP, shoutout to them for making it easy to find this spot. I found this on a Tuesday in the middle of May as I had an assignment in the Cleveland/Sheppard area of Texas. Many of you know that Taco Tuesdays are my thing. Finding taco spots in small towns are a challenge but fortunately this truck was available across from the gas station on 23 County Road. It's your standard taco truck serving tortas, tostados, burritos, gorditas, quesadillas, sopes, burgers & hot dogs. About 8 protein options are available, cash only (or Zelle/cash app), and mainly en espanol (although they speak some english). I did an order of tacos (Fajita, Barbacoa, Lengua, Buche), a chicharron gordita, and some quesadillas (regular sized tripa; small barbabcoa). They also give you a complimentary charo beans that you can eat while you wait. The beans smell amazing that are piping hot with some meat drippings mixed in. Good way to start the meal. Upon receiving your food, you can either eat at their picnic tables or take it to go. I brought it back to my hotel room and unpacked; fortunately everything kept well with no spillage or messings like some places. The tacos are good size with the lengua and fajita being my favorite. The buche is a unique protein, basically pig's stomach so there's a chewy texture so may not be for everyone; I'm glad I tried it. The gordita was excellent; very filling with meat, beans, and cheese packed in; loved every bite of it. The quesadillas are also delicious with the tripa being crunchy and barbacoa being tender and succulent. Every item was straight up fire from here. If you find yourself in Cleveland, be sure to stop at this truck and check it out. Hours are 5-11PM Monday-Friday. And don't forget cash!

This one was closed that day of pastel pizza; fortunately not this time. Went with the special hot dog after reading the long list if ingredients/items for the hot dog. Also started with an order if tequenos which are miniature cheese sticks fried in pastry form. They were tasty with a nice cheese pull. Kind of like a mozzerella stick but thicker which is a good thing. The special hot dog was LOADED with things including potato crisps, fried egg, bacon, sauces, and shredded cabbage. I expected it to be messy but surprisingly held up well. Not to mention the taste was fire. Also only $6.99 which is such a bargain compared to other hot dog spots. This will definitely be on the rotation when I'm visiting this food truck Mecca off Gosling road. Cause all you need is a bite and some sauce!

I somehow proved that even when you're starving, not everything hits the spot. I asked for corn tortillas, but these tasted like doughy flour tortillas. And the flavor? Nonexistent. Now, did I eat them? Absolutely. I had an hour drive back to Houston, and my stomach was in there shadowboxing my spine. I had to throw it something, even if it was just a peace offering. Did it work? Eh. I survived. I will say the service was A1. The guy at the window was cheerful and patient, even asked how I wanted my taco made. Just wish he had asked, With or without flavor? They do have a covered seating area, and tacos were only $3, which is cute... until he surprised me with the plastic fee. At least he told me but I never carry cash so yes the fee was paid. Try it for yourself... maybe your taste buds are more optimistic than mine.
