This place was okay. I came on yelp to see what's good around me and This placed popped up and the reviews say it was pretty good.The set up is all wrong. It tries to be more like a restaurant when it really isn't. The women gave us menus and took our order. I ordered a carne asada burrito and my bf got the chicken quesadilla and drinks. When we received are drinks it was a paper cup and food I got a paper plate and bf got a actually plate. I'm not trying to be all picking but it would of been better as just order up front and get our order instead of sitting waiting for the "waitress" to find us and in a rush. But overall it was okay.. My favorite Mexican restaurant. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food since dishes can be repetitive and monotonous like Italian. However, this restaurant makes Mexican food exciting as they specialize in the cuisine from Central Mexico which has a lot of variety. Everything I have ordered has been good so far but I love their huitlacoche quesadillas (made with corn fungus), molletes (Mexican Pizza) and Mole. This place is amazing. I have been coming here ever since I was a little girl when the juke box worked, I'm not sure if it does anymore lol. This place brings back old memories and a feeling of nostalgia. The food is delicious, everything tastes authentic, real, and homemade. I ordered a torta cubana it was delish, my daughter had a ham torta she said it was better than the ones I make at home.. (now that has to b great because I cooked delish) my son had a carne azada plate... Let's just say he lick his fingers not to mention the plate :) ... My comment is for a bad review. My mom and her friends went there on Friday May 8, 2015 to celebrate Mothers Day and were greeted with very bad service. To just serve them the drinks it took almost 30 minutes plus the time to wait for the food. The employees servicing that day had a bad attitude and were answering in a bad way, not providing a service that would be recommended. The place should close down if the employees do not have the time or the attitude to serve the clients. Aside from the time it took them to serve and the attitude given to the clients the place should get a -10 in a review. It is embarrassing to see how bad of a service can be provided at such a small place and a place that declares that the food is great. I would not recommend the place to anyone. read more

I was looking for a restaurant to go to on Christmas day. My family has always celebrated and had our family Christmas parties on Christmas eve. So, Christmas day we visit with distant family in the morning. Feeling all tamaled out, we decided to go out to dinner but to whereto go? We decided to google it "Restaurants open on Christmas day" and the first listing showed up as a review from Pris M. on yelp.com which i had never heard of before. I clicked on the link. It's the best thing I've ever done on my computer EVER! The review intrigued us so much not just because it's well written but because the description of the food is the most mouthwatering review I've ever come across. This food is traditional beyond measure. The term "Comida Casera" (which means home-style) often comes up when describing Mexican food but doesn't often fit the bill. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. I guarantee it. I used to live a few blocks away but recently moved about 45 minutes away and still manage to visit this place at least once a month. FYI the Enchiladas de mole de pollo are to die for but everything on the menu is tasty and well made. They also have a wide selection of Mexican soft drinks which go perfectly with the "Taco stand" vibe of the place. Seating is limited (10 tables and a 5 stool counter) but the decor and service make for a cozy little Mexican restaurant experience. The food is always great! I've had their tortas de asada, tacos de asada, menudo, and their shrimp cocktail. Their salsa is great too, homemade just like the one my mother makes. The only problem is their customer service. The waitress always take forever to even acknowledge you, nobody ever greets you when entering the establishment and you sit in an empty table just waiting for a greeting and a menu. Once they finally do bring you a menu, it tastes them more than 10-15 minutes to come back and offer a drink or even take your order. If you want your check, you need to flag them down because they never come back to ask if you need a refill on your drink or if you need anything else. Personally, I love this place but the customer service needs to improve. I keep going because the prices are reasonable and the food is good. The good reviews and pictures drove me to try this place two days ago. Big mistake. I went in there with the mentality that I already liked it but the food was not good at all, such a disappointment! We asked what they were known for and the lady said the huaraches, great I thought because that's what I've been seeing in their pictures and I very much wanted to try them. So, me and my boyfriend each got one and I got a michelada, which by the way had a weird flavor that I didn't care for at all, and the huaraches were DROWNED in salsa. Completely masking the flavor, if there was any, of the meat. I asked for half of my huarache to have carne al pastor and half cabeza. Visually I could see there were two different types of meat but I couldn't taste the difference at all! I hadn't eaten all day so I did eat about half of it before I just couldn't take it anymore. As we were getting in the car I told my boyfriend the best part about this place was leaving. I don't plan to go back and I wouldn't recommend it either. read more
