Used to recommend this place to everyone and would eat from here two or 3 times a week, but no more. Food is no longer same quality have gotten food poisoning twice from them in the past six months they also no longer have white queso (Queso Blanco) even though it is listed on their menu only nacho cheese that clearly comes from a bag like at the gas station very artificial and fake jalapeno cheese flavor it's very bad. I have also ordered numerous burritos and nachos and fries with only certain items on them and gotten something completely different through door dash they obviously don't care what you ordered. I will no longer support this establishment or recommend it to any of my friends I'll be going to Big Papi's from now on. read more

Regardless of the other Yelp reviews, this place is stellar. I go here multiple times a week and have never been disappointed. My suggestion, the rice bowl with carnitas and everything added, ; you can make two meals out of it. The people are always nice and food always good. Located in the Valley Mall food court, Tacos Carlitos serves up authentic Mexican food including tacos, burritos, gorditas, quesadillas, fajitas, nachos, salads, specialty Mexican dishes, churros, and cold drinks (they have Jarritos, Coca Cola fountain drinks, horchata,  and orange juice). There is also another Tacos Carlitos in Hagerstown at the Premium Outlets and another location is opening at the Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick. The prices here are slightly higher being in a food court and similar pricing to a sit-down Mexican place. They also offer specials during the week including 50¢ Wings on Monday nights, Taco Tuesday ($2 tacos, $2 chips & salsa, $1 churros, $1 wings). I stopped by here for a quick lunch. I ordered a Grilled Steak Burrito ($9.99 plus tax). Chips & salsa were offered for $1 more, but I declined and I was all set with drinks. The big burrito was made fresh to order with choices of various toppings from behind the glass counter choosing rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, pick de Gallo, corn, mild salsa, guacamole with the steak wrapped in a large flour tortilla. While the burrito was very filling, the pieces of grilled steak we're dry and very chewy, though sliced into small squares. So the presence in a mall food court implies fast food, if not semi-fast food, right? We were in Valley Mall Sunday, 3/05/2021, and a bit hungry. Figured that we'd try Tacos Carlitos. Place our order and were given a number. Then went on to wait FIFTY minutes before our food became ready. No exaggeration, 50 minutes! We were at least in similar company, of other hungry, and extremely annoyed people. When the food finally came it was decent, but we were kind of over it at that point. Mind you there was no crazy large order from us - just an appetizer and a small (aka half) quesadilla. Don't think I'll give it another try. I placed an order on Seamless this evening for Tacos Carlitos. This was our very first time ordering from this restaurant. My bill totaled slightly over $60 for 3 tacos and 2 burritos. I never mind spending money on food - IF the food is good and worth it. However - the food from this place ISN'T worth it. Not even close. I ordered a ground beef taco, a beef tongue taco, and a pork taco. The ground beef had zero flavor. The beef tongue- no flavor at all. The pork - that actually had good flavor, but the pork itself (and I'm not kidding) was as hard as jerky. It was almost as if it had been thrown in a deep fryer and cooked to an oblivion. I ordered a ground beef burrito and a carne asada burrito. Neither were good. The carne asada wasn't seasoned and almost reminded me of a beef roast that had been put in a crockpot with just a little bit of water. It was so dry and unappealing. So for $60, we're still hungry and will never be ordering from this restaurant again. read more

Restaurant refused to replace food or refund money. 3 hours later still trying to resolve issue , came across dispute resolution site, who for a dollar fee, promise d to resolve issue. Also when I ordered I started to say what toppings on each but he stopped me and said I was to add the toppings when my order was ready. Authentic Mexican food! Though it's been years since I've been to Mexico my co-worker (who was born and raised there) agrees, at Tacos Carlitos you'll get the real deal. Not the Taco Bell American style Mexican fare, but cuisine that's as authentic as the folks serving it. I love the $2 taco Tuesday's (and now Thursday's too) but on this day I went for the burrito. I got the ground beef (or carne molida) with beans and rice and choice of unlimited toppings. I added shredded cheese, fresh cilantro, corn, mild sauce, sour cream and a generous squeeze of fresh cut lime. The ground beef was seasoned to perfection and the toppings made this wrap burst with rich flavors. The next time you're shopping at or near the Valley Mall I highly suggest giving Tacos Carlitos a try! read more
