Soft taco plate with pick & salsa!
Katrina B.

I don't know how this place only has 3.9 stars!! Seriously. I've been eating their breakfast burritos for a couple years now & the consistency, large portion & flavor is always amazing!! The employees are friendly and the wait is usually about 10 minutes.. which I've been appreciating more as a pregnant lady who becomes starving at just the thought of good food sometimes!! I just brought my husband here, he's from the south, & this is his new favorite place to get Mexican in the area. He tried it and immediately texted his friends telling them to stop by and check it out. He is so picky about his rice and Taco Work's rice is SO fluffy and SO DELICIOUS!! & he never orders beans but really enjoys their refried beans! We've been getting their soft taco plate with beef. Which are their street tacos. They are SO good! I tried mine with salsa and my husband got it on the side .. there's definitely a little kick to the verde salsa!!

They still have great $1 tacos on Tuesday! Beef is outstanding, the rest is ok. I love their green sauce too.

Delicious burrito. It was gooey, so have lots of napkins. A small sacrifice when the food is that tasty.

The street tacos are my go to. On Tuesday's they are $1.25. Make sure you get some of the green salsa on the side! Spicy but good.

I love their super tacos and their green sauce is to die for. However make you ask for more or buy a bottle. They're kinda stingy with it.

I eat a lot of tacos. Taco works wasn't anything special at all. In my opinion food wasn't good. I will not be back.

The menu sings with creativity and fresh ingredients -- dishes that feel both familiar and excitingly new. The salads are vibrant and full of flavor, the sandwiches genuine, and the soups comforting yet elevated. Every item tasted thoughtfully composed and lovingly prepared. The latin-fusion theme works beautifully here: big flavors, fresh produce, and a sense that each bite is crafted with care. What really elevated the experience was the service. The owners and staff are so welcoming, friendly, and attentive that you feel like a valued guest, not just a customer--maybe we are valued seeing that we have been going for almost 17 years! The cafe has a warm, genuine vibe -- modest in size but rich in character. The setting is casual but polished, making it ideal for a relaxed lunch that still feels special. We appreciated the personal touches: the owner checking in, offering suggestions, making us feel comfortable and engaged. * Every dish came with freshness and bold flavor -- no filler, no compromise. * The service made the visit memorable. * The fusion concept works and doesn't feel gimmicky -- it feels right. * It's clearly a place that cares: about food, about guests, and about craft. If you're looking for a lunch spot in Coeur d'Alene that's just a little bit different -- full of flavor, personality, and warmth -- Café Carambola is a must. I especially appreciate the off menu items the owner makes me at every stop because I don't eat me. For my fellow non meat eaters, I suggest the La Potena no meat, extra jalapeños, and a side of their off menu habanero sauce!

It's not like in Los Angeles where you can't walk 1 mile down the street without tripping over a taco truck. That being said, I think the Mexican Food Factory (MFF) could hold it's own even in SoCal. Here are some reasons to try it; 1. Fresh ingredients. Especially the taco sauce. It tastes like it is made that morning. Seasoned but not overwhelmed with habanero or something. Delicious. Meats are not oily but still very tender and juicy. Ground beef is even juicy and tender. Did I mention the fresh taco sauce? 2. Cooking style. It's fast and made to order. Wait is short but realistic considering they are making your order as it comes in. Nothing prepared and sitting under a heat lamp ahead of time. They even toast the soft tortillas which is a huge flavor enhancer. They don't have gourmet ceviche or swordfish tacos but if you like distinct and discernable flavors in your meals it works here. 3. Small shop vibe. Cinderblock style place with an eating area outside at least as big as inside. Bright murals painted upon it. It's next to a road but traffic is slow and not too noisy. Clean as can be. Same employees in the kitchen for many months. 4. Value. If you shop around and are honest with yourself, I think you will agree that prices are not nice to us now. I don't know where else to find the quality of ingredients, speed of service, and no drama atmosphere at these prices. The daily specials are the way to try a lot of different things over time with a cost savings. Taco Tuesday crunch-fest awaits. Improvement? Yes of course. Open on the weekend please. In the name of all things Holy. We need our after church enchiladas. Also small size street tacos are needed. Radish, lime, cilantro, cotija crumbled on Lengua on a 4 inch soft tortilla. I'll take 6 of those to go down to the lake for a nice lunch. Por favor.
