I'm not really familiar with Mexican food but for some reason, by the looks of it, I had a feeling that I might enjoy this one. The Chalupa, their main product, looked a lot like a taco but bold prints on one of their signage clearly emphasized that it's not. I ordered their Beef Chalupa which contained beef (duh), veggies, cheese and other good stuff. You can even choose to put their special homemade hot sauce especially formulated to competent the soft pita-like chalupa. So if you're a fan of tacos and nachos with all the meat and special, you should definitely give this one a shot. You won't regret it. I didn't. Note: Say Chipotle (chi-pot-lei)

I first saw a stall of theirs at SM Hypermart (but I think that closed down), we wanted something different from our usual merienda (fresh lumpia, potato corner, pizza ollo, etc) beside the nearby stalls. I was so happy to have found it at the megamall food court, they also carry the iced tea brand All My Tea and it goes so well with their cheesy beef chipotle, for chicken lovers, you can opt to have chicken chipotle instead, both taste super good anyway). What amazes me too is that the customers get to see how they prepare the dough, sprinkling flour over it and then dipping it into the fryer. Such an interesting process and it's always nice to know how my food is being (safely) cooked.

And glad that they didn't scrimp on beef and cheese on their nachos! Prices were very reasonable and dishes were hella good!

The place always has a long line every time we pass by. Imagine our surprise when, even on a Monday, the place was packed! We ordered Silantro's Calliente Wings (Php170, 3.7USD) for our starter. Their Lucha Tacos is one of their best-sellers. We had the Medio which offers double choice of meat in 2 taco shells (option for soft or hard shell, we went for the the soft shell) for only Php95 (2USD)! We ordered the lengua and lamb. For the adventurous, there is ox stripe. But, they also have chicken and beef for those who want to play it safe. Go for the lengua, really good! I also had a Mojito (Php90, 1.9USD), one glass was definitely not enough. The only thing we didn't like about Silantro was their service. It took them quite a long time to serve our food. But, even with the waiting time, the food is worth it. I'm going back to this place with my friends. Next time, I'll be ordering their Unli Mojito! :)

There was one time where I wanted nothing but burritos. I don't know. I get these cravings…read moresometimes. The odd thing is... I don't really like burritos. Sometimes, there's too much rice and it ends up being rice and wrap and not much else. And the rice isn't even all that good either, depending on where you go. Or it has too much tomato which doesn't really do much for my sensitive stomach. Thankfully, Mexican Express does it right. They actually have a good proportion of everything: meat, rice, cheese, lettuce and salsa. That's a rarity. A good rarity. It's cooked right in front of you so you should be ready to wait for your order. It'll be worth it though, I promise. I've gone there to order burritos for lunch and once I get home, they're still as good and as warm as if I had them right there and then. The super burrito is BIG. Big and the filling reaches from end to end. The place itself is pretty small though so I really wouldn't recommend it for a party of larger than two. If you want to scratch that mexican food itch and have a group of buddies with you, don't be afraid to get something to go and head off somewhere bigger.

It's a long story, but…read morenow we were looking for ways to get some dips for those nachos, so we cruised along Maginhawa thinking of ideas. Good thing Mexican Express was still open, so we gave it a try. PROS: The staff were kind enough to let me purchase the add-ons only with without even purchasing an actual meal. For a couple of cheese sauces, a serving of jalapenos, and sour cream, I think I spent just a little over a hundred pesos; When we munched our nachos and dipped it in the sauces, they're actually quite good. It's authentic sour cream and jalapenos, and they all mix well. CONS: Their cheese sauce looked runny and blobby inside the fondue pot. But I should not have judged a book by its cover, or cheese sauce by its consistency. It actually tastes pretty decent - tangy and creamy. TL;DR: I look forward to actually eating Mexican Express' actual food mainly because of the good experience we had with their add-ons.

Located on the 3rd floor of Greenbelt, they serve amazing dishes in huge portions. Whether you want a pulled pork burrito or the grilled chicken version, their rolled up creations are always flavorful and satisfying. Don't miss out on their Nacho Supreme. It offers a good dose of sour cream, melted mozzarella, salsa and guacamole on top of a hefty serving of crunchy nacho chips. An order is good enough to be shared by a group of 4 for appetizers. Check out their different promos as well. They had Tuesday Fish Tacos last time we visited. Which means their P90 fish tacos are buy one, take one. You can get it on the crisp shell and as the soft taco version...both are extremely good. If you have a big appetite for Mexican food, you should definitely try their chimichanga...basically a deep-fried burrito, this monster of a meal can really hit the spot. Golden crunchy outer layer and meaty and bursting with flavor inside - that's one Mexican combination that packs a powerful punch.

Now, if that's what they meant to happen to us when they introduced Unlimited Mojitos and Margaritas to us alcohol-loving folk, then I'll take it! It's an all-day, err'day kinda thing at Baja. And they don't even water down the alcohol. You get quality tequila in your margarita at P295 for the drink-all-you-can promo. Aside from the drinks, you are guaranteed with good food, too! The Mexican food fan in you will seriously love this joint. It's just beside Serenitea and TGIF in Greenbelt 3 - the one near the cinemas. The Baja Fajitas (P375) are everything! They are served in three pieces with your choice of meat or chicken. Or you could opt for a combo. And you better order that Nacho Supreme in large (P275). It's what my nacho day dreams are made of: salsa, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, more salsa and guacamole. You have every option to eat this by yourself or you can share with your group. But if it were me, I'd just have it all to myself.
