Wow! I visited Tacos 2 Go for the very first time today and I love this place. The food is…read morefantastic, I had an Asada taco, Al Pastor taco, and a Pernil taco. Each was perfectly spiced and cooked and arrived to my table nice and hot. To wash it down I enjoyed their Horchata which is a cut above all others. To top it off the service here is top notch. They really care about the customer and I look forward to my next visit.

OPEN LATE, Serve Margaritas, Brunch & Bottomless Mimosas on Sunday!!…read more Discovered Tacos 2 Go at the Taste of Elmwood Park, and I'm so glad I did! Their quesabirria taco with consommé was everything I look for--crispy, rich, deeply flavorful, and leagues above the consommé I've had at other taco spots. I came back a week later for the quesabirria dinner, and honestly, it was even better in person. I would like to say I am a margarita connoisseur, and while I'm usually not a blueberry drink fan, I was talked into trying their blueberry margarita. Skeptical at first, but it won me over, just the right amount of blueberry without being overpowering. Surprisingly good! The vibe here is relaxed with TVs and music, and service was fast and friendly. I also learned from the owner that Tacos 2 Go has been under new ownership for about a year, even though the name stayed the same, and wow, you can taste the difference. They also do brunch on the weekends and bottomless mimosas on Sunday. If you haven't been back since, it's worth giving them another try! Can't wait to see the patio expansion and sip margaritas out there next summer! Will definitely be back.

During a long weekend in Chicago I was staying nearby El Mana so based on the Yelp reviews it…read moreseemed like a great place to grab some dinner. El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.

Las Brazas - Their specialty, half chicken (I got it without beans, lettuce & tomato). Very tasty - way more (store-bought) tortillas than I needed!

Would be 5 stars but they always forget something. Usually a side like salsa or jalapeños. This…read morelast time I ordered was most annoying though. The cashier confirmed the details of the order twice and I still got the wrong item. I ordered their cheeseburger which is supposed to come with bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Guess who got no bacon, tomato or cheese? It's literally how their menu describes it, did they forget? The basic hamburger I received for $11 plus tax isn't worth it. No complaints on the quality of the food, it is great considering the area. Their chicken is juicy although on the smaller side. We've gotten the family chicken meal multiple times and the flavor is consistent. The burger patty has a great charcoal taste although pretty dry so I wouldn't order it again. During these times where every penny counts, and eating out is a luxury for many, not getting the basic meal I ordered is frustrating. Unless you take everything out of the bag to verify it before leaving you never know what you will be missing. (Who is really going to open up their cheeseburger with dirty hands to verify it has cheese though?!) I understand if it's an "extra" they aren't used to including but something that is standard? Not ok if it isn't free.
