I stopped by the TacoTime on 196th Street Southwest in Lynnwood in the afternoon today, Wednesday 2 July 2025, for a small order of tater fries. I found open parking and entered the building, noting a cooler interior upon my entry. A nice reprieve from the summer heat. A friendly worker stood at the ready at the counter and I placed my order, opting for eating in the restaurant. Price of the item came to $2.59 pre-tax and pre-tip. The tater fries were soon to arrive, being carried to my table on a tray by a worker. I appreciated the compostable packaging and Washington State with cactus emblem on the side of the top of the box, which reminded me what state I was in. The taters were fried to perfection and temperature-wise were at hot with no concern about bordering just warm. In terms of size and flavor, the small box was all around satisfying. I will say of all the fast food Mexican, available in western Washington I still think Taco Time when they get it right is the best. That being said, I can attest to the fact that for decades they have been absolutely the most incompetent purveyors of a drive-thru window in the entire fast food market. I made the cardinal sin tonight of pulling away from a Taco Time window without thoroughly checking my bag. It was missing my messy fries. I went back and got my mexi fries. Then when I got home to my surprise and the wrappers that were supposed to be Baja fish tacos there were beef burritos. Again the food is great the drive-thru window is a lesson in absolute incompetence. This happens to be the one I went to tonight, I have had the same experience all throughout Snohomish and King county. Check your bag folks. I was kicked out of this Taco Time mid meal. This was done by an older gentleman with longer gray hair which I assume is the manager because no regular employee would approach someone or talk with such a lousy demeanor like he did. I ordered through Uber eats so the food would be ready when I arrived. Food was ready and received it pretty quick. My GF used the bathroom, then u used the bathroom (so one of us could watch our bags) and when I returned to the table I was told the dining room was closed and we needed to leave immediately, and we could not finish our food. After we were told this, the person quickly turned his back, walked off and was not seen again. (Assumed hiding in the back as to not be confronted with any questions) Me and my GF just got back from Buckeye Arizona visiting my family, we traveled all day, road the light rail all the way from the airport with our baggage, then stopped in for some food while walking home from Lynnwood Transit Center. It's such a let down this is how we are treating customers in 2025, let's do better. Like come on, how are these establishments surviving? How does this type of individual have employment in customer service? Absolutely Insane. Ok I've been a regular at taco time but now the gloves come off.. A few months ago I had an issue with the crisp burritos tasting like fish but I get it, they fry different things in the same oil. But the other day I ordered my regular crisp bean burrito, got home to enjoy, took a bite and it tasted like mold! Called the location twice and never heard back! Actually made me sick and lost my appetite for two days.. Still haven't heard back. I've now filed a complaint with the health department. Normally I love Taco Time, but this one sucks. Every time I've gone here something in my order ends up being wrong. Food was good but took an hour to get our food. There are so many delivery pick ups that all of us waiting to eat inside waited atleast 45 min. There is also not anyone ringing anyone up. Jan 22nd of 24 at 10:40, I placed an order through the drive thru. Lady at the window never gave me hot sauce so I politely asked if I can get some. She asked "how many?" I said 3. She said she has to charge me for the 2nd and third. I just laughed and said one. In the 25 years of coming to taco time, I have never been charged for hot sauce. And I always ask for 3. Best fast food Mexican hands down. Not the cheapest but a very fair value considering the quality and portions. Always high quality ingredients. Always great portions. I normally go to the Lynnwood location for some quick healthy eats, but I think the crew has changed. I was the fourth car in line, waited over 10 minutes in my car to get to the window where, surprise, they screwed up my order. Not much to tell. Fast food Mexican, greasy taco meat with not much flavor. The nachos use shredded cheese, not a creamy melted queso, so I didn't enjoy them because they aren't my style. The staff was super friendly, took my order and got the food out quickly. These ladies are fabulous!! I Food is always fresh and hot! They are just so cheery. I have never had bad service. I think once I waited more than 5 mins only because they make everything fresh. Very good service and flavorful food. For example, the mild salsa actually had a nice kick to it and wasn't as bland as I figured it'd be. Helpful kind staff, good seafood options, and salad options! Thing here have really improved since I last visited in 2010! I pretty much avoided Taco Time after my first visit because I viewed it as a second rate taco chain in the northwest for not offering items I could eat as a pescatarian. I was blown away this visit that there were so many options for me and even salad! I ended up ordering the coconut shrimp tacos and a vegetarian salad and had them put the contents of the taco on the salad (minus the tortilla). Best to go salad meal ever! The greens were fresh, and the shrimp was delicious - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a thai chili sweet sauce on the outside. You can never go wrong with Taco Time - the food is fresh, delicious, and there are a few more options than Taco Smell. Oh yes, and the best thing of all is the Coke Infinity machine - if only they had ginger ale, then the world would be complete. My usual go-to is the crisp beef burrito, but this time I decided to go with the Tostado Salad. What can I say but Y-U-M - the beef was seasoned perfectly, the lettuce was fresh and crisp and the beans made the flavor and texture so close to perfect. I had thousand island dressing as a tribute to my mom. I loved the tostado bowl - it was amazingly crispy, and held up under the pressure of the ingredients, so I could use the crispy shell to dip into my beefy mixture of salad. Oh yes, and I got a diet Fanta Strawberry to drink. I know this is fast food, but I think Taco Time is a great alternative to burger joints and some of the other taco places. I find that if we have a night where we don't feel like cooking and don't have a huge food budget, TT is the best place for us. read more

As someone who has grown up in Seattle and has a special spot in my heart for Taco Time, it kills me that the food here has been so rough lately. I keep wanting to give it another chance, and I keep getting disappointed. Today I placed an order and my crisp beef burrito and mexi fries seemed to both be fried in rancid oil. I took 2 bites of my burrito and had to throw the whole thing away. The mexi fries were burnt, yet cold. Very uninviting. Mexi platter came without the tortilla chips. The refried beans were a stiff hard cold scoop. Nothing was "good, good" or "fresh, fresh". What a bummer. read more

We came here for a quick lunch. Ordered a chicken tostada salad, regular mexi fries, and a baja combo (2 chicken tacos, rice, beans, chips, and salsa). The total was under $20. They bring your food to you while you sit at a booth. And it was exactly the same amount/taste/style as any other Taco Time you'll visit. There is comfort is its predictability. The location is at a busy intersection in Lynnwood, near a red light camera, but once you're in the lot, it's easy to find parking. The decor is from the 80s, Sante Fe style. Taco Time is one of my favorite places that I always have to visit whenever I'm in town. I've been to this location several times I never had any problems. There was a little problem this time after I ordered the taco salad and quesadillas. I found a hair in the quesadillas which made me ill! Really bad stuff comes out of this place. The fish tacos were not good . They tasted funky, kind of like the fish had been sitting there awhile. I tried a shrimp taco special too and not only was it expensive , I swear it was like eating leftover rubber. The beef and chicken tacos were terrible, soft and hard. My wife deposited them in the first trashcan we could find. The meat was not hot along with very slow service, and there were only two of us in entire restaurant that had ordered.
