I love the chips, but the salsa is not my favorite. Although not bad it's just more runnier than I desire. Of course that is just my opinion. The $2.99 margaritas were good but small. But what do you expect for $2.99 I need to mention that there were 10 of us in our group. As for the service, we did not wait for anything. Service was great, not exceptional just great. I was taking a sabbatical between jobs and was spending a few afternoons enjoying Happy Hour at Marcy's, a diner / bar that was nextdoor. A Taco Bell employee named Tim would always come by on his lunch break and slam a beer or two - I certainly didn't blame him - I'm not sure that I could work fast-food without a good buzz myself. Tim was very intelligent and articulate and we quickly became friends. I would give him transportation during rainy days so he wouldn't have to bicycle 4 miles to work and we spent a few evenings discussing world affairs and sipping adult beverages in my mancave. I was completely blown away when I saw his photo on the news in connection to a bank robbery in Bonner Springs and his quick arrest at a local casino. It seems that Tim had a gambling addiction that escalated out of control and locked him up for about 7 years. What does this have to do with my review of this Taco Bell? Nothing, but I thought the Taco Bell Bandit's story needed documented somewhere... The thing that I love most about TB is that they have such a large menu, a wide range in pricing (I can spend $5 or $18) and always something new. Yes, I miss the encharitas and the Bell Beefer from my childhood, but a Steak Chalupa Supreme may be the greatest fast-food creation ever! The new Discovery Lux Boxes - 4 items and a beverage - is a ridiculous bargain. With the constant roll-out of new products, beverage options and sauces - taco bell is light years ahead of a lot of the fast-food giants in innovation. Make sure you download the app and use it for bargains and accumulate points to redeem for free stuff, so you don't have to rob a bank to come back. Four stars since they always get my order right, it's a quick process and a good value when I need a fast-food fix.

I was just getting off work and had class in the evening, so I decided to order ahead to save a little time - BIG mistake. I arrived 5-10 after the expected pick up time, checked in, was told my order wasnt ready. Fine, not a big deal. I just hung out and waited. A manager and 2-3 employees. Customers coming in going through the line, paying leaving. Other customers coming in picking up their orders and leaving. Im patient when it comes to customer service. But after 10 minutes I went back up to check the status. Was told it wasnt ready. So i waited more. Another 10 minutes passed and more customers come in and get their bowls made and leave. Now im running behind, getting a little annoyed, potentially going to be late to my class. Another 5 or so minutes go by and I check in again with the manager, considering I am watching employees stand around and wait for customers to walk in. Eventually I had enough and requested for my food. There was a bag behind the counter with one of my two burritos in it. No one had made my second burrito. Eventually it was made and given to me. One of my burritos was cold, obviously had been sitting alone on the counter for a good while. The second one was half wrapped, spilling out, and missing ingredients. Had to rush home, late for class, didnt have time to bring this to the staffs attention. Absolutely ridiculous and negligent customer service I received. I figured ordering ahead would save me time, wrong. Complete waste of time. Awful customer service, especially from the manager on duty. No apologies. I wasnt rude, I stayed patient. But to receive my food (half cold & half carelessly put together) after being sitting in the restaurant for 30 minutes is WILD to me. Honestly, Ive ate here before and had no issues, but the service and food quality was garbage that day. Shame on me (apparently) for trying to save time and order ahead. Learned my lesson. Thanks Qdoba for the amazing experience!

I might have been given some significant discounts on food during her employment if you know what I mean?! Since the statute of limitations has expired and said female now lives in Florida, I think it's time to come clean some 45 years later, and yes we are still friends. In fact she was the first person that I sent photos of my weekend meal. I was actually surprised to see that Taco Via still existed and made a dash out to Overland Park on a soggy Sunday to see if the food lived up to what my memories hold. I ordered a Nacho w/ jalapeños, a Sancho, and "The Thing". The Nacho is one of the metro's simple pleasures - a corn tortilla covered in melted cheese with a spiral design of the best taco sauce in America and a splattering of diced jalapeños. Simple and simply irresistible. The Sancho is a messy beast with it's soft flour tortilla packed to the brim with everything that you would find in a burrito - taco meat, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and sauce. "The Thing" is a beautiful thing! It is basically a tostado topped with ground beef, onion sauce and a mountain of melty cheese. All three of these menu items would be 5 stars even if you were forced to eat them with Taco Bell sauce, but Taco Via has their own sauce that you can dispense from a pump at the drink station. I found myself sipping the sauce between bites and realized then that I must buy a container to take home with me. I plan on using liberal amounts of it on a taco salad at home tomorrow evening. I hope you forgive me and especially my female friend that forced those "discounted" tacos and sodas upon me Two Score and Five Years ago. With to-go sauce, meal, tax and tip, I spent $25+, I'm giving a well deserved 5 star review and I promise to come back and spend even more money... I hope this starts the reconciliation process, and the forgiveness of juvenile misdemeanors.
