Great value for the amount of food. A classic go to! If you only have 5 bucks it's the place.

I love Mexican food. It is my favorite cuisine, hands down. Don Tomas is the best Mexican…read morerestaurant within a 50 mile radius. Trust me, I've tried them all. I've had good, bad, and I'll be in the bathroom for the next four hours, if anyone needs me. Don Tomas isn't good, it's AMAZING! The food is so authentic, that Donald Trump would have it deported. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. If you love Mexican food as much as me, do your stomach a service and eat at Don Tomas. Most Mexican restaurants have your food out almost as fast as you order it. Why? Because most of the time, it's already made and is just heated up for you. Not here. Don't get me wrong. They're pretty fast, too. But you can definitely tell that the food hasn't been sitting in the back, waiting for you to say, "Yeah, I'll have the number 16, because I don't know how to pronounce it." And ladies, if you like margaritas, they have two for one specials from 4-9. I think it's every Thursday, but I'm not positive. I'm not a woman and I can't pass for one. Maybe one day I'll try to get in on that special and hope they just think I'm an ugly woman and not ask. I'm not much of a drinker, but it sounds like a fun thing to try. I'll have to work on my female voice. Maybe throw on a sexy little number. Sorry, I'm going off topic here. The food is great. Go eat it, now! Or later. I'm sorry for yelling. By the way, I don't see their hours posted anywhere on Yelp, so I'll post them here: Hours: Sun: 11AM-9PM Mon: 11AM-9PM Tue: 11AM-9PM Wed: 11AM-9PM Thu: 11AM-9PM Fri: 11AM-9PM Sat: 11AM-9PM

I would rate this place as a mid level Mexican restaurant. It wasn't bad but not amazing either,…read morenothing just stood out to make it so great. The house salsa definitely needed some doctoring, but they had a little salsa bar with 2 other types of salsa, limes, onion & cilantro. All the ingredients to make it taste good. Chips were good. Cheese dip was hot for which I appreciated very much. The happy plate was decent. Food came fast. Server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant felt dirty, which is probably what messed me up the most, besides having to season up my food with salsa bar offerings to give it more flavor. So, try it for yourself if you want, not saying it was bad, I've definitely had worse, but there's better places.

Good Lord what a great place!…read more Hubby & I rolled in here needing some strong Cuban coffees to go! Score!!! Walking in, the place looks brand new, totally adorable & smelled so good we decided to hang around & stuff our faces while we were there with whatever they were cooking! Yeah! Lol We got their signature coconut cream seafood soup with the giant crab & the beef tacos, which are suppose to be their most popular dish. YUM! We have not stopped talking about this hidden jewel since we got back home! :)... The seafood soup was 2.die4! Hubby & I ate the whole thing. Then we fought over the tacos! Hand crafted tortillas from their own dough. Succulent tender quality beef seasoned to perfection then topped with super fresh cilantro & avocado. I never eat beef tacos but these? These have stolen my heart :).. They come with a red & green salsa. Warning: The red sauce is very very very HOT. I mean it's VERY SPICY. My whole face was burning for the remaining 5 hours drive home. Use sparingly or prepare yourself for torture lol The Cuban coffee with milk was delightful. Hubby drank them both. Good times ;) We are already planning our next trip back here! We can't wait to return! Highly recommend :)'

Very similar to Mexican food in Texas. Chocolate cake tasted like chemicals- not fresh. I really wanted to like this place as I really enjoy some good Cuban food but this place was a bit of a disappointment.

I don't normally write reviews, but this place deserves one. I'm a truck driver from Houston, so I…read morespend a LOT of time on the road and eat at restaurants all over the country. Most days it's the same burgers, pizza, fast food, or another place calling something "fajitas" that ends up being nothing like what I'm used to back home. I actually noticed afterward that this place has around a 3.4 on Yelp, and I was genuinely surprised. I can't speak for anybody else's experience, and maybe other people came on different days, but I can only review the experience I had -- and mine was excellent. I've seen complaints about the restaurant itself, but that wasn't my experience whatsoever. The place was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had a nice atmosphere. It's actually a pretty large establishment with plenty of room. The temperature inside was comfortable, the AC was working perfectly fine, and nothing about the restaurant felt dirty, run-down, uncomfortable, or neglected. I was seated almost immediately and taken care of right away. The young lady serving me was extremely nice and attentive throughout my entire meal. I usually eat alone while I'm working, so I'm pretty simple -- sit down, order, put a movie or something on my phone, enjoy my food, and get back on the road. I don't need anything fancy. I just appreciate good food and good service, and that's exactly what I got. Now the fajitas... THAT is what made me want to write this review. I ordered steak, chicken, and shrimp, and all three were genuinely good. The quality of the meat stood out immediately. The steak didn't taste or feel like some cheap cut of meat. The shrimp were great, and the chicken especially impressed me. I've had way too many places serve these huge, thick pieces of chicken that end up dry, or chicken that's so wet it feels more like guisado than grilled fajitas. This wasn't that. The chicken had a good cut, good texture, good seasoning, and actually tasted grilled. The whole skillet came out sizzling hot with the steak, chicken, shrimp, peppers, and onions, and I tore that shit up. Rice and beans were good. Nothing crazy -- they're rice and beans -- but absolutely no complaints. I would've loved some handmade tortillas, but the flour tortillas they served were perfectly fine. Drink size was good, portions were generous, and the food came out FAST. I want to say I waited less than 10 minutes. Price-wise, it's not the cheapest place in the world, but it isn't ridiculously expensive either. For the amount of food I received and, more importantly, the quality of the meat, I felt like I got my money's worth. I also want to give credit to my server. She was genuinely kind and attentive. I only had enough to leave a $5 tip that day, and I actually felt bad because the service deserved more. If I had more to give her, I would've gladly done it. My biggest complaint? This place isn't anywhere near my house. If this restaurant were back home around Houston, I'd absolutely come back. Unfortunately, being on the road means some of the best places I find might be hundreds of miles away. So if you're passing through like me and you're looking at that rating wondering whether you should give this place a chance, all I can tell you is what happened when I walked through the door: clean restaurant, comfortable atmosphere, quick service, an attentive server, a huge plate of sizzling food, and some damn good steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas. I came in hungry, left full and happy, and I'd stop here again without hesitation if one of my routes brings me back through. That's an easy 5 stars from me.

We asked a lot of questions, and she was really helpful and patient with us. She also checked up on us throughout the whole time, which we really appreciated. We were really happy and satisfied with everything we got, and I definitely recommend trying these: * Peach Margarita Pitcher: A whole pitcher of margaritas for $22?! This is such a steal! It was so good, and I really liked that it was actually strong, which I love. * Steak, Shrimp & Chicken Fajitas (Double): The one in the picture is the double portion because our server recommended it since she thought the single might not be enough for both of us. But the double was actually a HUGE amount of food! Both of us were completely full, and we still had a lot left over to bring home. Even my husband, who can eat a lot, was stuffed. And of course, the fajitas were delicious! Also, you MUST order the creamy green sauce! And definitely try the green hot sauce they have on the table too. They are both really spicy, but they make the food taste so much better. If you like spicy food, you definitely need to try them! I think our bill came out to almost $100 for the two of us, but honestly, we were both completely full, had plenty of leftovers, and also got a whole pitcher of drinks. Overall, we were really satisfied with our experience and would definitely come back again!
