I'm in love…read morewith Birria tacos and have been since I first saw someone eating one on The Food Network and then I ate my first one...they are the best things I've ever tasted in my life! We ordered TONS of food here and not only ate two meals worth for $40, but there's leftovers from that second meal AND I had my step mom try one of the birria tacos too, dipped in the consommé and she loves it too! We got 6 Birria tacos with 2 containers of consommé (darned if I forgot to take pictures until it was too late!!) and they even check to make sure what filling you want (pork or beef), what toppings (cilantro and onions) and a huge assortment of sauces! They're literally amazing! We also ordered an enchilada plate with 2 Chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and although they may have been out of the red sauce, they did have a nacho cheese sauce and it was just as good as any sauce she could've put on or in them, in my opinion. My husband LOVED them! Then we got 4 tamales that they make themselves fresh and they were very good. They're freshly steamed, moist and filled with lots of whatever you choose. They had ground beef, pork and chicken. We got the pork and they were fabulous. Maybe a touch too much masa on the outside or what becomes the ends from inside the corn husk, but they were still very very good. We would've gotten more food, but we were on a time crunch and had to grab and go. There's like 2 or 3 other Mexican restaurants in town, but this was the only place we wanted to visit and from the food we enjoyed with family and how much we walked away with for such reasonable prices, I'm glad we chose wisely. If you're looking for freshness, (they had all our food well packed up, sauces, tableware, napkins and condiments in asst. boxes, containers, etc. in neatly stacked/packed in bags in less than 10 minutes!) quick and fabulous service...look no further than this fantastic lil place! You WON'T be sorry -- you'll be full and very satisfied!

This is flavor town yall. Dishes even come with a chile brine to dip in. The meat is supple, flavorful and deeeeelicious. They soak the shells in the brine before putting them on the griddle so they have a saturated color and flavor that I am all about. Guac is fresh and super solid. I pulled up and went to order and I was greeted by a lady with red hair and covered in tattoos she smiled at me and asked me how I was and If I would like to place and order. I told her it had been a while since I had been there and asked her what she recommended and she promptly said ohhh definitely a chicken and steak quesadilla or some birria nachos. I said oh I didn't seen the birria nachos on the menu so it must be new so I told her I'll take one of each. She said it would be about 15 mins and I was welcome to have a seat and wait I made sure to see if she was going to put gloves on and yes!! She did. About 5 mins later some guy came in yelling at her that she needed to hurry and make 2 orders he had just got she told him she was working on my order she would get to it as soon as she was done he looked at me and said (what did you get man) and I had grabbed a soda from the cooler and he said you already pay for your order man if not I need you to pay now and for you drink. She said yes he had already paid for everything already she finished my order and gave me an extra salsa I tipped her 5 dollars before I left and he stuck it in his pocket I said oh that was a tip for the cook and he said yeah ok ty have a good day. The food was impeccable I dont know what she does to it but I was so full I couldn't eat another bite I will definitely go back if she is cooking but he needs to learn manners

Tamales aren't a very popular thing where I reside so I am not too familiar. I did do my research before this trip, however, and I know that it is somewhat of a thing in this area, unless I am full of shit. I am glad I had the opportunity to sample them. I was very pleased to see they had some vegetarian options. I ordered the tamales plate: i chose a beans & cheese as well as a spinach & cheese. Not one, but TWO vegetarian options? Get out. I also ordered a side order of beans. You know what traveling does to the digestive system. They were VERY tasty. It was nothing crazy but satisfying. I was a lil disappointed that there was no sauce to speak of, for some reason I got that impression from the photos or description or something. The beans were also enjoyable. GF ordered Tony's Ramen Birria and felt that it was "just ok". I'm glad I was able to try this, it's tasty.

Everything started out ok - our waitress was sweet and attentive when we first sat down. However, once we ordered, we waited and waited for the food. After 45 minutes, we explained that we either needed our food or we'd like the bill for our chips so we could go to another place to eat. After that, the food appeared pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the food was truly bad - no salt, and very, very bland. I especially have to mention the beef...we ordered a carne asada taco and a fajita taco (the fajita taco description mentioned having "ribeye") and the meat in both was awful. It could be squeezed into mush between my fingers. Again, the staff was friendly enough, and I think they tried their best to make up for the long wait, which we appreciate, but to wait that long and the food be SO subpar just really made for a bad meal. For around $15, this place can't be beat. I also tried their horchata which was also tasty. Pro tip: cash is preferred at this venue, and there is a small Hispanic grocery store inside as well. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone in Hot Springs looking for a Mexican food fix!
