The quesadilla was well cooked. Stuff with goodies and not soggy. The smothered burrito was the best thing we tried on the menu. I highly recommend the queso smothered. However if you opt to have the protein opted out for veggies there is an up charge. Service was quick and friendly. Overall a solid meal. Parking is ample and in the back.

We ordered a daiquiri, they came out watered down with very little strawberry mixture and I'm not even sure what else was in it, but it was bitter and gross so they remade it and it came out pretty much the exact same way no flavor, bitter watered down.. the waitress was very sweet and she did take the drink off, but did not offer to take the southwest egg rolls off. My spicy shrimp tacos were OK. I did not like the sauce which was very tomato pasty. My wife had a Hawaiian bowl and it was very good. This place reminds me of a bar trying to dip their toes in to Mexican food, but not doing a very good job except it is called poblano's and by that fact alone they should be putting out some good food.

El Arbol is definitely a cool spot visually, and I really wanted to love it based on all the great…read morereviews. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was much better than the food for us. The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.

This restaurant offers a unique and tasty twist to your typical Mexican street style taco. I…read moreordered their Carne Asada (steak) taco which was well made and definately in line with an authentic Mexico Street taco but the star of my meal was the Mongolian Beef taco with its marinated sauce, scallions and cilantro that was over the top good and so different from any other taco's I have ever had. The chips, salsa and guacamole I ordered were good but not to the level of the Mongolian taco. Relative to the restaurant itself, it is kind of tucked away on the side of a small strip mall and not readily visible from the road. You need to be purposely looking for this restaurant to see it , which based on all the good reviews, a lot of people apparently do which means its business is being generated by word of mouth. Nice! Also of note, this is a counter order take out business model with no indoor seating and just two small tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant (4 total chairs). Something to keep in mind if you are looking for an indoor dining option. Overall, I believe the more traditional Mexican food options are good at this restaurant but it is the unique/fusion options that make this business stand out from other Mexican restaurants in the area. These unique food twists will be the primary driver of my return visit, which I will definately be doing, to sample some of their other fusion options that they offer. Definately a restaurant to seek out and sample if you are in the Milford area.
