Seriously the best taco bell I have ever had. The inside is really nice and you can watch them cook your food. 5 stars.

We got Cemita made of…read moreCabeza (cow brain meat), the bread was a mixture of crunchy and soft on the inside, the meat was very tender and juicy. The avocados used were very fresh, the ratio of meat and cheese was perfect, and the chipotle peppers brought it together so nicely. Their fries are perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The carne asada tacos were a little dry, however, I think it was mostly the tortillas that were dry, the meat was very well seasoned. I do wish they came with more onion, cucumber, radishes, and like wedges. Now, for the real star of the show, the salsas!!!! Wowww!!!!! They do not play around! The spiciest one is the green one with avocado chunks is incredible, the smooth green salsa is the second spiciest and lastly the chipotle red is the least spiciest. Truly incredible salsas!!! I was a bit disappointed in the Esquite, it was $10, and they didn't even fill the cup to the top, it was filled about 3/4ths of the way. For $10, I felt like it should've been up all the way with more mayo and spicy seasoning. I love how big and open the restaurant is, there is a half wall and seating on the other side, I appreciated that it was quieter and more relaxed. Overall, their food was pretty good, I am looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu.

My Go-To Birria Taco spot on the Southside!…read more Red Tacos is right off Madison and Stop 10 in a little strip mall. You walk in and order from the counter. They have a large menu behind the counter and lots of bottled drink options. No fountain drinks. You take a seat and they call your number when the food is ready. Everything is made fresh to order. One thing that stands out is how FRESH all of the ingredients are. They usually have an area with fresh radishes, cucumbers, salsas, and peppers but they didn't have that out this time. That might've been because I came towards the end of the day. But they did come on the side of my meal. They rented out the space next to them which opens into a whole other room with seating. But you can also find the sweets and fresh ice cream in here! The staff is always so kind and welcoming. If you're looking for a great birria spot, try out Red Tacos!

They did a great job. Only four stars bc the refried beans are made with white beans which was very unexpected and their salsa is verde (made with tomatillos?) instead of the traditional red tomato one. They should give you an option. Granted I didn't ask bc I wanted to see what the "standard" things are. Their chips are fresh and tastes like they make them in house. You have a choice of corn or flour tortillas with your meal. Plenty of cheese drip is included in almost every dish so if you prefer more traditional dishes (wout all the cheese) let them know. They took it out for us. We only had the chicken loko dish but that was good. Easy parking too. Solid 4

Ambiance: This place is super cute. It's admittedly a small place next to a vape shop in a dinky…read morestrip mall but they've decorated very well inside and done what they could. It's clearly a family run business with the daughters helping out front and a mom in the kitchen. The place is freshly painted, there are comfy padded booths, tasteful decorations, and unobtrusive latin reggaeton playing in the background. Service was very friendly and food could take slightly on the longer side but that's because everything is made to order. The moment we put our order in we could hear the kitchen (which was one lady) throwing stuff on the cooktop and working hard the whole time. Food: They served some complimentary chips and salsa which were very good. The chips are actually fresh fried still with the glistening oil on them. Likewise, we got a bunch of tacos and the tortilla shells were fresh fried and crispy which was amazing. Quesa birria - The birria has a very deep rich flavor almost like cabeza meat, it might be from the bone/marrow used in the stock but it has a almost game-y flavor I hadn't had before. The dipping broth was excellent and they serve it with sliced cucumber, radishes, grilled jalapeños and caramelized onions which was such an amazing touch. If you're not opposed to bold flavors I would recommend this. 4.5/5 Barbacoa taco - Not a saucy Barbacoa like Chipotle but equally as flavorful and tender. This will always be a safe bet if you just want a beefy taco that pairs great with their salsas. 4/5 Al pastor torta - My wife likes tortas more than me but I will say the Al pastor is great. They do not skimp on the caramelized pineapple chunks and the pork has a nice coating of that smoky savory achiote seasoning. The torta itself is balanced in terms of the lettuce, beans, and tomato. The bread tastes home made with a slightly chewy texture. 4.5/5 Horchata - It's creamy and rich but not too sweet and generally mild on the cinnamon, all around enjoyable. They give you a giant mason jar of it too which is like 900 ml! 4.5/5 Special mention to the salsas which are just plain great. The hot salsa is like a roasted jalapeño salsa with a smokey kick from either pasilla or guajillo chiles. The green salsa is just perfectly balanced with a gentle savory and tangy flavor that enhances whatever you put in on. Overall I seriously enjoyed Fridas. It is not fancy or innovative but if you're looking for a family-run hole-in-the-wall business serving authentic and filling food, I would strongly recommend giving this place a try. Just for reference, we got two entrees, an horchata, and a la carte taco for $40 (pre-tip) and were stuffed for the rest of the day.

The Cubano was not to bready with sausage, egg, bacon, ham and was delicious. Not sure what Chris C below is talking about because Paco's has nothing on this place. I don't usually shop at a Mexican grocery unless I am looking for cotija cheese for making elote. However, I entered the grocery because the sign in front of the restaurant entrance said it was closed. I clearly saw people working at the food counter and a customer standing there, so I went through the grocery to see what was going on. Apparently, nobody had removed the sign and left a "caution" cone blocking the door. Anyway, after the weird start, I enjoyed my experience. The colorful dining room has lots of festival streamers hanging from the ceiling and loud Mexican music playing. (Note that the grocery has an equally loud sound system playing something completely different so you get a weird stereo effect that is hard to tune out.) The dining booths go about half way back into the restaurant on both sides. Beyond the left side is a cooking area with a large menu posted over the top. Even though there is a counter at the cooking area, you don't order there. Behind you on the right near the back of the restaurant is a smaller counter with a cash register and a menu booklet that you order from. Once you place your order and pay, you wait and they will bring it out to you. Note that any beverages are sold in bottle form and are self-serve from the cooler next to the order counter. The wait was fairly short considering they prepare the entrees to order. I went with a couple tacos (with the cilantro and white onion) and ordered rice and beans. Apparently the cashier had a little trouble understanding me when I ordered the Asada and Pollo tacos. I was brought out the Asada and Lomo instead. (I was the only customer at the time.) But, instead of sending it back, I like pork loin as well as chicken, so I simply added some green sauce (mild) and a few drops of red (supposed to be hot, but I didn't think it was that hot.) The tacos were excellent. They were served on double layered corn tortillas. I usually prefer flour, but wasn't given an option here. These were the best tasting corn tortilla shells I've had. And the ingredients inside were delicious with the added items being colorfully fresh. The side of beans and rice were forgettable. Not bad, just lacking much texture and flavor. Very bland and not much other than filler when compared to the robust flavor of the tacos. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was pretty clean looking, so given the high quality of flavor, I would recommend stopping by to quench your Mexican food cravings. Review #2698

I really wanted to try something mixed, but the worker said it was mostly either or. I really thought there would be more fusion options, but on the menu - the left side was Indian dishes and the right side was Mexican dishes. We did order a chicken tikka taco (sort of Indian/mexican infused) and then decided on butter chicken in medium. For the taco, you can get corn or flour tortilla and we forgot to specify, but thankfully it came out on corn. The butter chicken came with rice and naan (I forgot to ask if I could make it garlic naan) so it comes with regular. For a drink, I got the mango lassi which is like a mango smoothie with yogurt and milk, and he got a mango jarrrito. Our meal came up to about $30, and we decided to dine in. I got my mango lassi very quickly, it was really smooth and creamy texture, very milky mango tasting. I liked it, but my husband didn't care for it. The jarrito has a bottle cap, and on the wall, there is a bottle opener. I didn't even notice it but my husband did, it's unique and convenient. It took about 15ish mins or so to get our food, we like that it's made fresh and was brought to our table. He gave us extra plates as we were sharing our order. The tikka taco was bland, didn't really have much flavor. He gave us two sauces, one green and one red (he said the red is spicy) and even with that it was just ok. It was however very filled. The regular naan was good, especially when I dipped it in the butter chicken sauce. As for the butter chicken, it was decent. We got it in medium spice and it wasn't very spicy to me. The rice paired well with the butter chicken. The food was enough for both of us to share and be full, plus we had leftovers. The inside was quiet, it wasn't busy when we came. They have tables and booths for dining in. They also offer drive thru service. The inside appeared clean. They have 2 restrooms towards the back of the restaurant, one for men and one for women. The women's restroom didn't have any toilet paper.

I always order the poblano chili relleno to see how well it's done. The salsa and guacamole are also great and are also usually an indicator of what one might expect. We ordered the deluxe loaded spicy burrito, a chicken enchilada, ground beef taco and refried beans. Everything was fresh, well prepared and hot. They offered plenty of food as well. The only thing I can fault is the guacamole needed a bit more salt and the spicy burrito wasn't hot/spicy at all. This restaurant is close to my home and I will definitely go again. Suggestion and extra side note : They are multitudes better than the cringeworthy swill taco joint in the same area next to Duncan Donuts and behind CVS.
