We went through the 137 S West Ave. drive-through, Carpentersville off Rt 31 today. We were very excited to see the Tostada was back for a temporary time. We ordered Burrito Supreme® $5.79 for the Crunchy Taco Supreme, $2.69, and a drink as well as two tostadas for $4.78 and a beef soft taco for $1.89. However, what we got was one soggy and cold burrito that had beans and cheese in it only charged $6.99. A beef crunchy taco charged $2.99 + sub stack for an upcharge of $1.50 = $4.50 that was not out of order at all. The tostadas were just okay, but the beef soft taco was soggy and cold. The manager, Luis, took the order #52 at 11:49 am. I called to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. I then called back and asked to talk with the manager. I got Luis, who did not listen to what I was saying, and cut me off multiple times. When he finally realized he was the one who took my order, he was aggressive and said, Just come in to get your free burrito. Ironically, my complaint was really regarding being charged for a taco I did not order. But Luis and I never got that far because he told me to hold on and started talking to someone in Spanish, and when he returned to talk with me, he was eager to get me off the phone. Honestly, I do not want a free burrito, taco, or anything else from that Taco Bell. The entire experience WAS SO BAD I can't imagine why I would want to go back. They were packed so thinly and hardly any fillings - few shreds of lettuce not even fresh, hardly any chopped tomatoes and I could not find any sour cream..yikes!! Haven't really had any issues with the food from this place but I have had plenty of issue getting food from this place. Do they even have specific hours of operation anymore? Online and their window (not to mention the app) says they close at 1AM, but multiple times now I've placed a mobile order at around 10AM or so and then go to pick it up just to find out they're closed.. rather, there's people inside, lights on, but the doors are locked and they block off the drive-thru. Annoying thing is that it charges you up front and not after pick-up, so you have to manually send in a request to cancel your order and wait for them to approve it. Their app shouldn't even allow orders to be placed if they're closed. I just went this morning since they apparently open at 9AM, I got there at 9:40 and sat at the drive thru speaker. Nothing for 5 minutes until I say "hello?" and they tell me they're closed. When do they open? 10AM. their window literally says they open at 9AM. Other smaller gripes: This location also doesn't do breakfast items, which is fine but a bit strange. At least the app doesn't allow you to order breakfast items if you choose this location. Things are more expensive here for some reason. Items that cost $1 at other locations (including the other one in the same city) cost around 1.19-1.29 at this location. No idea why. read more

Check my bag (cause you absolutely have to check and open all your food now a days) and my roll ups are missing. So i turn around drive, park, and go inside. I can't believe I'm leaving a review for a Taco Bell but this is literally the worst Taco Bell ever. I once ordered a bunch of food, they gave me less than half of it, then proceeded to be confused when I came inside to get the rest. That whole ordeal was THIRTY minutes of people running around having no idea what they are doing. At one point they gave me the same food they had already given me but again not all of the food I was missing. After thirty minutes, I asked for my money back. On multiple occasions the food has been incorrect and I don't just mean "I asked for no tomatoes." I mean they are just randomly leaving things off that belong on something. And one time they put lettuce on my "steak" nacho fries. When I came inside to ask for it to not have lettuce, because it doesn't and that's weird, the manager was visibly annoyed. Not to mention I had ordered steak nachos and they had given me beef. Tonight I ordered a chipotle ranch burrito with no tomatoes. Given their track record I assumed it would have them anyway, but it didn't! But it was also missing things that belonged on it. -_- The drive thru is constantly backed up, presumably they are going so slow because they don't even know how to make the food. Maybe they are googling it while making it. Or watching training videos at the same time. Who knows. The manager is a piece of work. My wife used the mobile app to order the food pickup inside. We get confirmation with app and get there not open. It's noon and they open at 11am. We called several times and got hung up on and when we finally got through to somebody they informed us that they'll be open anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. We get home and try to cancel the order and cannot we call back over there and they said well it's ready to be picked up. It wasn't even eight minutes Ago. I said you need to refund us. They said they can't cancel it and can't refund us. The manager said it would be Illegal to refund us because he doesn't work for the thrid party app. My question they why did they mark us as picking it up. That's sounds illegal. And can't get a hold of anyone on the app. Will not use the app and it would take alot more that a refund to trust that usless tool manager. Very slow. Took approximately 35 minutes to get our order after placing a mobile order. We went inside to see if we could pick up there but no one was even at the counter to help us so we had to go back to the drive through and wait since we had already paid. First off, I'm definitely a Taco Bell regular. My home Taco Bell must have spoiled me with their service. Our visit was just too long. Upwards of 35 minutes to clear 6 cars in the drive thru. That service time is just too long for a simple fast food Crunchwrap and Baja Blast. If there's a staffing issue, I'm more than willing to pay an extra $0.50 on my burrito to hire enough staff. I suppose that being among so many Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood causes embarrassment to the staff for having to work at a quasi-Mexican restaurant. And it shows in their lack of customer service and bad attitude. Be prepared to wait a long time in the drive-thru and to get half-assed service. Like, I bet they get a lot of customers coming in saying "You call this a taco?!?" and then the customers proceed on throwing tacos back in their faces (hard to avoid getting the hot sauce in your eyes!) What's the point of renovating the place and changing everything if they didn't replace their super slow staff? I waited 15 minutes just to order through the speaker in drive-thru and another 15 minutes at the window to get 2 items. I understand it can get busy but management does a horrible job managing their employees. It's a shame to have the Taco Bell look fantastic, just to arrive there and encounter unprofessional service. Friendly staff, but the store's drive thru microphone needs fixing as it has made a few orders incorrect due to their inability to hear properly. The interior of the store is normal, and kept very clean despite what the other reviewer stated. But it hasn't been updated along with other Taco Bells in the area, so looks the same as the rest of the chain did in the early 90s. But the exterior has been well maintained. read more

This location is absolutely horrible. The wait in line is painfully slow each and every time, especially in the evenings. If you have any change to your order, for example, no lettuce in your tacos, they will mess it up. We have left with the wrong items, missing items, and yes, lettuce in the tacos. I have gotten home to find no napkins or taco sauce. If you have a good experience here you are the minority...and very lucky. Recently I tried to buy a gift card while in the drive-thru to add to my order. The cashier didn't know how "to do" gift cards. The manager came to the window...about 5-7 minutes elapsed...now our food is getting cold and the crunchy tacos are getting soggy. The manager couldn't figure out how to sell a gift card! We left without it. I now have to drive an additional 8-10 minutes out of my way to go to another Taco Bell location. Went here yesterday, 10/6 at 3:40 in the afternoon. Couldn't pull into the drive thru as it was blocked with a traffic cone. Went to the front door and it was locked with a poorly handwritten note on it stating "closed for 45 minutes". 2 employees standing out in the parking lot smoking and chatting and laughing, having a good time. A man pulled up with Taco Bell food in his hand, said he was coming back because he had just been through the drive-thru and his entire order was wrong. My first negative review! 40 minute wait time, when it's not even busy. When it is busy late night, they only have 2 staff members...who seem to be stoned, yes stoned. Chairs in the drive thru to insinuate its not open, when walked inside the employee had to ask everyone for their receipt number because orders were all mixed up.
