I'm pretty sure there is one week I visited them 3 times . During the holidays they have salvadorean tamales which are also great! Recently they introduced me to pasteles de pollo salvadorenos and they were phenomenal. Seasoned super well with such good flavor. (I don't believe they have these all the time though.) I always order the revuelta pupusas and they hit every single time. They used to be in Rancho more often, but have recently been up in Auburn pretty full time. That hasn't stopped me/us from visiting though! My husband and I have made the drive up there just for pupusas and of course to say hi to our favorite food truck couple. We've come to their food truck so much in the last 3 years that we're on a first name basis . If you ever see their food truck out and about, do yourself a favor and stop! You won't regret it.

There was a surprising large amount chicken in the container. We also got a plate full of naan. The chicken was tender with the a little spice. The naan was a big hit with our kids. Of note, the salsa rojo at the self-serve condiment station carries quite the spicy sting. Next is the authenticity; they display their entire cooking process from homemaking the tortillas to serving the tacos fresh off the grill. It's occupied by two employees hustling away and running operations like a well-oiled machine. Despite arriving at the same time as two other customers, I had my order ready in 7 minutes. Last is the value. Part of what made my experience so enjoyable is only paying $12 for 4 exceptional tacos (Zelle accepted). Blink and you'll miss it. Service was fast;however, I was surprised by the price of $33 for 1 pastor burrito, 1 pastor vampirio and 3 tacos. One of my gripe is if a place doesn't list their prices so I'm basing off my knowledges from previous reviews and I had assumed the tacos would be $3 each. But onto the food: Asada taco: beef, chewy and tough but substantial Pastor taco + pastor burrito: the best cut of meat. It was hot when I got it and it was very good. Well marinated. Pollo taco: you can probably skip this, the chicken is a little bit plain and dry Vampirio: similar to a tiny quesadilla. Two crispy tortillas with cheese + meat sandwich in between Overall the place is decent if you're getting the pastor meat. I do like the self service but I wish the price of the items were more transparent

The other day he went to El Balcon to grab a shredded chicken burrito for lunch. After a number of bites he bit into a spot that he said tasted like tuna and immediately made him feel sick, and as he was noticing that he realized there was a curved shard of metal in his mouth. We were thinking because of the sudden tuna taste maybe it was part of a tuna can lid that somehow wound up in the shredded chicken container? How? How does that go unnoticed during the making of the burrito? If someone swallowed that it would cause pretty significant internal damage. He brought it to their attention and apparently they just offered him another burrito...um, no thanks. I would've at least asked for my money back but he's a better man than I and just let it go. I get that it's just a fluke and not all the food is gonna have metal in it, but it's more what it says about their quality control, and if it happened once I'm not willing to go back to see if it happens again.

He told me if you ever get a chance and you're out here to stop here and speak with the owner named Heimi! Well, guess what God willing. I got that opportunity today. I got to meet the owner and I'll tell you what the customer service was definitely at its finest out here on the West Coast! My honest opinion, the East Coast needs to step there game up and take some big advice from the owner here at this place! The owner Heimi started this business back in 2001 and this location is the original Adalberto's!!! With the customer service what I'm talking about the owner Heimi came out to me after me having a good conversation with him inside as I let him know that this was my first time here he told me that whenever you need anything come back well guess what? I'm sitting out front at the outdoor table with the umbrella over me and Heimi himself comes walking out and said hey do you need a refill and he takes my cup of Horchata and he fills it up! The food here the drinks here are all absolutely amazing. It's almost like I'm eating a homemade cooked meal in Cozumel or Isla Mujares Mexico on vacation! Thanks Adalberto's amazing cooks, servers, and staff! Also thanks to Heimi for your 10,000,000 star service, customer service at its finest! The kind of service that I was provided with is the kind of service that is extremely rare to find nowadays! Thanks for bringing it back to life and showing me that it's still here alive and well! Thanks for treating me like a millionaire!!!! The outdoor ambience around the property is also beautiful. The Owner and staff do amazing at keeping the indoors and also outdoors, clean and tidy! People here are amazing. I am overwhelmed with joy. I don't never wanna go back east. I'm gonna call it right here home for the next 15 years I mean minutes sorry lol as I finish my amazing Carne Asada super burrito. The thing even has french fries in it. Are you kidding me! lol thanks again you guys rock! Couldn't be happier! DON'T SUPPORT!!…read more Absolutely disgusted at this owner's attempt to nickel and dime customers. I've been supporting this Adalberto's/Carolina's for the last 10+ years and place large orders for my staff atleast once a month!! I asked for (2) #21 burritos @ $11.25 each for a personal order. I asked how much to make one a "Super". Employee on the phone says $2 for more meat or $2 for sour cream, salsa, rice and beans. I say please make one super with the sour cream, salsa, rice and beans. I go to pick up, same employee that answered the phone says my total is $31.68. I asked how we got to the price, and she says she has to charge me for "eggs". I said eggs already come in a #21 why are you charging me? She said a super burrito doesn't come with eggs. I say I asked for #21 to be super, that doesn't make sense, not a super burrito with eggs, a #21 super. She said ok, I'll charge you $12.25 (Yelp Price) and then $2 for every item making the burrito $20.25. I said that's not what you said on the phone and if so, why didn't you say is costs $8 to make my #21 super? I would have said no. She (short, dark skinned) is a liar, she didn't have any sense of customer service and she talked in circles without explaining a thing. When I asked for an itemized receipt, she couldn't provide one. The prices inside (cheaper) are different than Yelp (higher priced), which is different than DoorDash (highest priced). If you call in an order, they charge you DoorDash or Yelp pricing, even if you pick up. I will never ever support this embarrassment of a taqueria and the $110 monthly order for my staff will go elsewhere. All for a couple bucks and the fact she knew I caught her in a lie and wouldn't fold. Garbage establishment and the last 4/5 times, all the salsa is contaminated because they let the homeless people serve themselves. There are people on drugs always outside and loitering the parking lot. I never let my staff pick up because of this. DO NOT EAT HERE! The place is never full and the other half of the Taqueria is always empty because of the lousy customer service and lack of hospitality. Go to Taqueria La Familia off Hillsdale for a better experience, meal and vibe!! Adalberto's should get cancelled, especially the rude and dishonest employee answering the phone, she just lost you thousands of dollars.
