We didn't come there for that and i think it'll be a long time before I go back. I love the food, but allowing these peddlers to annoy and abuse me customers is not okay. The food is grea, the service is goo-- what a sham.

Let's just say it make sense why the lot is full. The service was beyond reproach. Our server was attentive and detail oriented and never felt us feeling ignored. I couldn't see the bottom of the complimentary chips and salsa and the food came out hot and delicious. The three meat molcajete with traditional salsa verde (a family recipe according to the menu), pinto beans, radish, freshly roasted jalapeño, green onions, and sautéed cactus. Topped with Monterey Jack, Cotija, and Panela cheese was the star of the show. You assemble everything in a nice flour tortilla and you are in for a delectable and savory treat. The portion sizes are generous and the price point given the amount of food is also very attractive. We shared the molcajete and had plenty leftover for lunch the next day. I always wondered why the parking lot was so full but I longer have to wonder and I'll be contributing to the busy traffic in the parking lot because I'll be back for another round of molcajete.

The best-kept secret in North Highlands, maybe even all of Sacramento, is serving up one of life's…read moregreatest things: $1.75 Taco Tuesdays. El Parian sits just off Watt Avenue and has become part of my regular weekday lunch rotation since I work nearby. I've eaten here more times than I can count. Whether dining in, grabbing takeout at the counter, or ordering online; they're always fast and they never mess up an order. The inside has a decent amount of seating, and they even play Champions League and other soccer matches during the week. I'm assuming other sports get screen time too, but the soccer is a nice touch for me. For that $1.75 price, the carnitas is the clear standout. It hits that delightful combo of lean bits, fatty bits, crispy bits, and a touch of salt that makes for the perfect bite. I'm not even a big carnitas person, but theirs is a guilty pleasure. Today I ordered 3 carnitas, 3 al pastor, and 1 buche, which came out to $11.30. It should have been $13.05, but I didn't notice they forgot to charge me for the 6th taco until after I left. It's still an insane deal either way. Luckily, I tipped enough to cover the missed taco and then some. The buche isn't part of the Taco Tuesday special, but I wanted to try theirs since it's one or my favorites. The carnitas were great as always. The al pastor had good flavor but could use a little more salt. The buche was tender, with a slight chew, and still had some of that offal flavor. I don't mind that at all, though I know some people get picky about it. Overall, this place is solid. Huge menu, clean and fresh salsa bar, and everything I've tried has been good: Burritos, tortas, beans, rice, all of it. If you're anywhere near North Highlands, this spot absolutely deserves to be in your rotation since they are one of the last places with a real Taco Tuesday deal.

Our first impression was a cool, small, and family owned business, plus the owner was very nice and helpful. We got a few things to try, and we were not disappointed with any of it. We got a torta, burrito, papusa, tamale, and a churro to try. The torta was super good, the al pastor was seasoned well and super juicy, definitely recommend them if you like tortas. The burrito was good, and it was super filled and super large. Definitely recommend getting a burrito if you're a hungry lad. The papusa was one of the best papusas I've had around this area, super flavorful with a slightly crispy outside. It also had an insane cheese pull, definitely recommend trying one of these. Lastly the tamale was amazing, it was packed with flavor and one of the better tamales I've had in a long time because it was actually moist and not dry and overcooked. Another big recommendation from me. Overall if you're in the mood for some Mexican food please go here and support an amazing local business. Tamales and Papusas are a super recommended!
