So as a new part time car lifer I experienced the TA showers. They were amazing!! The bathroom was very clean, had a fan, 2 bath towels, floor mat, 1 wash cloth which was fine cause I had my own, an amazing exhaust fan and a hanging fan! It was perfect! I throughly enjoyed my shower! The price was $17 and it was worth it. In the long run yes $17 would become costly but I'm make it work! Currently on a sabbatical after losing my fathers who was a truck driver for 43 years (may god rest his soul, I miss you daddy) I felt a certain comfort showering there cause my dad shower at TAs most his life. Only thing which isn't really a problem since I was there at 430a, the staff wasn't so friendly but being the person that I'm giving everyone the benefit of doubt I chalked it up as he was tired. None the less I will definitely shower again at a TA! read more

This is my favorite stop before heading into Nawlins, truck stops are a thing with me anyway :-) I think it goes all the way back to my childhood when we would take long trips and my Dad would usually pick truck stops to gas up and of course where I could lobby for snacks and soda :-) I also hitch hiked from the east coast to L.A. once and up and down the eadt coast as well where I frequented truck stops. (lots of stories there to be sure) Anyhow having driven to all 48 continental states and across Mexico and half of Canada I can't even begin to estimate how many truck stops I've stopped at but it's a LOT. TA's are typically good ones with some inhouse restaurants and chain places. They typically carriy a wide selection of name-brand products, and are stocked with made-to-go foods, (watch out for the twirling hot dogs & sausages) groceries and snacks, plus electronics, maintenance supplies, and even clothing and gifts, including regional souvenirs! You can even get a shower while you're there. Bottom line: It can be hot or miss with trick stops but this is the last good one of you're headed west on I-10 headed for the Big Easy. read more

So last night I'm parked at the gas pump that had been shut down for the night. Some truck stops will put a yellow string or trash cans to block that pump. Trucker will use those pumps to spend the night. There was 4 of us last night at those-pumps when we got awaken to be asked to move. I went inside to speak to the manager and ask her, if I could pay for a space and she said, they were booked for the night. When I was outside the guy that's in charge of taking care of the parking lot, told me, I'll take care of you, if you take care of me. I wasn't sure what he was referring to? but I asked him money?? and he said yes, so he moved some cones and and made space in the back for me to park my truck and spend the night. I paid him $20 he pocket that money. This morning at 4 AM to my surprise there's all these trucks parked..where we were told we could not spend the night, because they could get a fine! So I spoke to the girl behind the register and I asked her why did they move us and let these trucks parked there even charge us to make room for us in the back and pocket that money. She asked, what's your name? Let me find you in the system my name is not in the system, because they pocket that money. She told me she had to go above her to place a complain. She told me she got there at 11 p.m. and those trucks were already there. All of last nights staff, said we could not stay there. All the truck drivers and I were very upset.. now, I wake up and all these trucks are there. I feel discriminated. So I decided to write this review hoping that it gets to the right people and it gets handled in a professional manner so this doesn't happen again. The Mechanice offered us to park along side their shop as long as we didn't block the traffic. The guy that takes care of the parking lot said, whenI was outside, I don't know why he told you guys that, if he's not in charge of the parking lot. Side from this, they have great coffee, lounge for truck drivers is finally opened. it was nice to watch some TV, the video arcade games was fun and entertaining. Most TA have a work out gym I didn't see one in there but I also didn't ask where it was at. So I don't know, if they have one. read more

This truck stop is consistently the cheapest gas in the Slidell area. It is a real deal, honest to god truck stop though so be prepared. The area for trucks and cars is separated so once you're in, fueling is easy. Entering and exiting is not as easy because Gause is busy as hell, homeless people are begging at the red light, and trucks take a long time to make it through the light. I don't mind the trucks taking a long time since they are hauling things I probably ordered from Amazon, but the homeless people and Gause Blvd. are a bit rough. The shop attached to this truck stop is a bit of a chore to shop in. It's always packed and there always has seemed to be some extended delay at the counter. There are a lot of items available though, but prepare to wait if you're stocking up. If you're looking for cheap gas along I-10 in Slidell, TA will likely be the cheapest, but saving money will cost you some convenience. read more

we took our motorhome here for tire repair The repair didn't last and when we took it to Southern Tire Service in Biloxi they said they did a terrible job and just about wrecked the tire. huge buffing area and small patch They got us in quickly however don't recommend them due to substandard repair read more

where do i start? i stopped here around 12 noon at this ta to shut down for the night. i'm lying in bed almost asleep and your employee a guy who works the parking lot reserved areas started knocking on my door real hard like he was trying to break in. he stated to me that i need to go in and pay for my parking while he was looking at his reservation parking sheet. i told him that i already paid and had proof and he said, "are you sure?" i showed him my email receipt, and he asked me what is my truck number? i gave it to him and we both looked at his log sheet and my truck was listed. my truck number was listed plain as day !!!!!!!! this is crazy !!!!!!!! please talk to your employees and train them on making sure that the truck numbers listed is the same truck number that they are standing beside before banging on a driver door who has had a very long day of driving. this is ridiculous and embarrassing !!!!!!!!! contacting corporate and bbb. read more

Husband and I stopped here until it was time to get unloaded. We decided to take a shower and ended up pretty satisfied! The showers are not very big but they are clean, and after all day on the road that is all that matters! There's a Country Pride in the truck stop and a raising canes right next door to the truck stop! read more

I wanted to comment on this TA center because the restroom was actually clean. I guess when you head east most of them are TA centers and this was the only one that was clean by far. The other locations that we stopped along the way were a bit dirty. read more

This station is clean and regularly maintained. The gas prices are usually a bit lower than the surrounding stations, and that's always a plus. read more

Do not use this TA Travel Center. Never again will we send another truck to the TA in Slidell. They put 2 batteries in one of our trucks and took less than 30 minutes to do so. We get a invoice for 633.70 & they could not give a legit reason why. But of course we have to pay it so our driver could leave. If I could of gave no stars, I would have. They just lost all our business! read more

Early this morning I stopped on my way from Alabama to New Orleans airport. My battery went dead and I needed a jump. I walk back to the mechanic shop to borrow cables for a moment. I walked around the store while I listen to Oscar on the phone securing an appointment for some Big Rig having trouble on the road. He carefully discussed the details of the appointment and secured the customers contact information. He was plugging all the information in the computer, while gretting the day crew. Did i mentioned he was on the graveyard shift! He gor off the pbone quickly apologized to me for having to wait, which I didn't mind since his customer service skills were impeccable! I complimented him on his customer service skills. I asked him to borrow the cables instead he offered his help in 10 minutes afywr he got off work. He went as far as giving me his number to call in 20 minutes. Needless to say I was able to go to the bathroom, get some coffee, and in less than 20 mins he was over there hekping me on my way. His manners were impressive alongwith his eye contqct and hand shake. Working overnight and still remaining so refreshed and calm was wonderful. Great restaurant inside the mother and daughter that were their serving us were great and funny Oh and the food was good as well had the chili and a small salad with some good old over tea..on the way out stopped and grabbed a few of the mask from the family and some post cards for the grand kids.. only thing I hate was that the entire front row was reserved for certain trucks I do not feel that they should have that many reserved parking spots I'm sire they just come to sleep some come to do three same thing along with fuel up and eat read more

This review is for their maintenance shop. We went there bc my husbands tractor front tire was shaking. We tbought, "Let's go and have them check the tire." Their mechanic came back and told us it was not the tire but that both front tires needed king pins and seals! The cashier said their flat rate was $1309.00 not including tax. My husbands truck is only 2 yrs old. His company said to go to a tire specialist bc they were trying to rip us off. The king pins hardly ever go out on OLD trucks and if you don't grase them and that should not be the case with a new truck. So we paid their check up fee and went to the Loves in Biloxi and as suspected it was his tire, we had a bad tire and Loves said the kingpins were fine. His truck is running fine and his bill was $400-and something. Be careful when taki.g your truck there. read more

I can't believe a truck stop doesn't have a 24 hour restaurant. Believe it or not, Some people actually have to work overnight.

Disappointed in the restaurant. It look nice, was clean attractive and the wait staff was more than pleasant. The food however was a disappointment. Ordered "Southern Fried Chicken" (had to being in the south) what appeared on my plate were half a measly chicken that appeared to have been refried. The salad bar, on the other hand, was pretty good, with fresh lettuce, veggies and fruit. Probably won't be stopping there again anytime soon... read more
