This restaurant committed a number of key sins that really affected my review…read more This was a birthday dinner for my girlfriend's mother - a party of eight. It was recommended that we order only four different mains to 'speed up the delivery service'. We were seated at 730p. While a largish party, we weren't huge and that suggestion should have been unnecessary, but we followed it. Then we waited a half hour for the appetizers - mine (asparagus with a lemon froth and scallops and sea beans) was amazingly good and made me optimistic. My girlfriend's was just strange. It was asparagus covered with a white sauce and chopped eggs. While she says this is a traditional dish, she never had seen it served this way. It looked like something a baby spat up and was strangely seasoned. Then we waited almost two hours for the main (I would have walked). So much for expediting the main by ordering fewer than four dishes. During which time there was no explanation of the delay, no check on drinks, no apology. Then they brought us two fish dishes from the wrong table! When the mains arrived, my GF's fish was, as she said, 'something we could have made at home.', and my dish( tajine), a traditional seafood dish with scallops, shrimp, and scampi over squash and potatoes, was bland and over cooked. We excused ourselves at 1030p, because we couldn't face another hour wait for dessert. So, big sins: 1. Hot. It was cool outside but very warm in the restaurant. 2. 2 hours from ordering to get main course (and I saw tables of two with the same issue) 3. Poor service - didn't not check drinks, didn't status the meal, slooooow 4. Bland food (except my appetizer which was delicious) 5. Expensive. I'd never return and definitely recommend against. They have to radically improve their operations and simplify their menu. Because I was with my polite Belgian hosts, I was good. Otherwise, I would have gone all ugly American on them. One of my worst rated meals in recent memory.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who advised that it was rather expensive. He also said…read moreit was very good, however. I went on a Friday night when all of the restaurants in the village Square that this restaurant is situated on were very busy. This one had plenty of seating though. The atmosphere is typical of a high-end restaurant. There is abundant staff, and some of them adopt a rather superior attitude. I went in specifically to try their mussels, but they were out of them, which I found curious so early on a Friday night. I decided to try the Eels Provencale instead since I am not familiar with the dish and like to experiment with new foods. I also ordered bread and salad à la carte since everything on the menu is listed individually. The fish came with the requisite french fries that every Belgian restaurant serves. The dish was served with a very rich tomato sauce that also contained mushrooms and onions. The eel was cut into pieces about 2 inches long and an inch wide and each one contains the bones of the fish, so the meat had to be pulled off with a knife and fork. I've only had eel prepared by smoking before so the flavor and texture was new to me. The fish was very moist and tender with a strong fish flavor. I ate all of it but didn't enjoy it so much that I would probably order it over the mussels next time. The salad of mixed greens was disappointing, with a bland dressing. The french fries were excellent and went well with the fish. I give this restaurant high marks for decor and level of service, but find the a la cart pricing, missing menu item, and pretension tempers my enthusiasm.

Sharing my feedback from my last visit on October 18th. Over…read morethe past 6 years aMuze used to be one of my top favorite restaurants, on each visit I was used to leave with great memories about aMuze : the exceptional service, great food, balanced taste and attention to details, but my last visit was a total disappointment from all points of view and this really made me to change my full perspective about this restaurant. Given was my husband birthday I wanted to spend an evening on a nice and elegant ambiance but this turned out to be our biggest disappointment: 1.First of all, I took a menu that I usually use to take: Menu of 5 courses. After I ordered my menu, on my table was forgotten the bread and butter, although on my neighbors tables there was already the bread and butter and some of them came after us. Finally the bread was brought at the same time as the first course. 2. The waiters were walking lost around with plates and didn't know where to distribute the dishes..on my table they brought 2 times the Makreel dish no 2 , the blond young lady left my table with the double dishes .Actually I had to call and bring to her attentions that the Makreel dish no 2nd was brought the 2nd time , she apologized and walked lost around to find out to whom belongs the dishes and it turned out it was for the table next to us. All night was a full circus with them walking around and didn't know where to put the dishes. 3. They put on my table the cutlery for steak while they brought on my table the Kalfszwezerik dishes. At one point they removed the cutlery and brought the normal ones. 4. Used with the former old dishes présentation but this time the dishes were poorly presented, especially the Kalfswezerik was purely a joke. When I started to eat I was deeply disappointed with the presentation. Some cabbage and 2 olives sized cow meat. I asked the main restaurant manager to confirm if the dish was exactly what it was supposed to be? He asked if I wanted more food ?? I wanted to ensure that I didn't come to a fast food restaurant and my intention wasn't to leave with a full belly but basically on Saturday night the dishes were poorly presented and we're never in the same quantity/ quality. 5. The next dish where I was supposed to have the steak knife FAZANT my meat came very low cooked. In the past, each steak meat was super delicate, and with a velvety texture, when you ate it it really melted in your mouth. This time basically I saw the blood on the meat, the meat texture was tough and I personally couldn't eat it. 6. In my past visits I always used to take a bottle of wine along with the menu but this time given I am pregnant we opted for a version for a single good quality red wine glass only for my husband. I remained to drink water and non alcoholic aperols. At one point a young waitress asked my husband if he wishes another glass, and my husband mentioned that given he's driving will remain at one glass. At the moment of the bill we were surprised to see on our final bill some extra wine glasses. My husband went to the counter to find someone and ask for some explanation of the extra ones. The reaction of the blond lady with a sparkling top was défensive in the sense that made my husband feel like he was lying. She asked another colleague to confirm if our table 100 % has received only one glass. In the end of course it turned out that he took only one glass so the extras were removed. But I had to pass through this shameful situation. 6. In the past visits while the restaurant was fully booked and it was managed previously only by 2 people ( before was the élégant, middle size guy, always wearing the jackets, with an excellent English , even the menus were presented in English) I never felt a problem, or bad service but this Saturday were 5 people and all of them walking like in circus party. I used to leave 20 €tips but this time I left with a big disappointment. I don't go out to restaurants every day, but when I go I like to frequent gastro restaurants that offer quality to their customers. I've always had the impression that aMuze falls into this category, but my last visit really left a bitter taste in my mouth.
