There are several things that you need to consider in a martial arts school. The instructor is…read moreprobably the most important one than the actual style of martial art. Are the instructors qualified to teach or care about their students? Are there enough classes offered to keep a regular schedule? This school checks all right criteria to be a good school. Not only a good one, it is probably one of the best one in the world! This happens to be my 22nd martial arts school I attended during my lifetime, and I will have really hard time when I need to relocate due to my job. I am spoiled to drop in whenever I want since there are classes both noon time and in the afternoon all week. No schools have such a vast class offering. Thank you Mr. Hwang!

I was only a student at this school for a couple of months (my own scheduling conflicts), but I…read morefound the space and all of the teachers to be fantastic. Each teacher definitely has their different styles--some were really good at verbally explaining a particular technique, while others taught best through physical instruction. Apparently, the man who started this school, Jae H Kim, studied with the best tae kwon do master of this century (I've been told Kim's mentor created this particular martial art, but it's been around, in some form, for hundreds of years, so...) My fellow classmates were helpful and I never felt I was being judged if I hadn't fully learned a move. The manager of the school, Mr Wong, is the sort of teacher every student (child or adult) loves to have: he's relaxed and compassionate, but still gets you to do the work! You learn discipline here, but don't feel like anyone will get out the rod if you mess up. And...it's a true community. It's not quite as tight as the capoeira group I studied with, but still a definite collective. You'll have to sign up for a 6-month commitment when you join, which I think is good, since the whole reason I joined was to gain more discipline. And they'll hook you up with a uniform and make you feel at home. So go try it out!

I wrote them a review on facebook along with a lot of back and fourth messages on their facebook…read morepage. Now they have blocked me. I just find it hilarious they blocked me. The master even asked her sister to write a review it seems like after I wrote a 1 star review. She doesnt even attend the dojang. So I ended up writing a comment on her post on Billerica mom's page where she advertise her business and now she erased that and took comment option off her posts. Wow........... I *****DO NOT!!!****recommend Tiger Ans to anyone. My daughter has joined here ever since they opened. Past 2 years have been great. One evening I dropped off my daughter to her class and I went outside to make some phone calls while she was in class. After 45 mins I went back inside to see my daughter sitting looking miserable. I asked what happened and the master told me she got hurt before the class even started. So I asked them why they didn't call me but their reason was because they had to teach the class and they thought she would get better. There are 2 Masters and any of them couldn't call me because they had to teach the class. I guess class is more important then a child being hurt. I felt so bad for my daughter sitting there so miserable for almost 1 hr just holding her wrist up. This doesn't make sense to me and this is very unprofessional. It is common sense to call the parent of a child if the child gets hurt to let them know, especially when the child is young. I called my daughters pediatrician and they told me to come in first thing in the morning next day. Next day I spent 12 hrs total in 3 different hospitals, my daughter had to be put under because she had a broken displaced bone. I am not blaming Tiger Ahns that my daughter got hurt. Everyone can get hurt anywhere anytime but I am very disappointed in the way they handle this situation. It was very poor and unprofessional. When I asked the master what if this happened to her daughter how she would feel about it and her response to me was that similar situation has happened to her daughter and she never recieved a phone call from that school. Both Masters were completely different after this situation. Oh I forgot to mention, when I asked to see the video recording, they told me that their cameras were not working therefore there is no recording. I can go on and on about how they have responded to this matter but I will end it here since it's already long. I wouldn't want to send my child here ever again and do not recommend here to anyone else. I just think it's common sense as a person/teacher whoever you are to call the child's parent if they are hurt to let the parent know. Replying to your comment: Why was I not given a call when my daughter got hurt? She was only 6 years old, what would she know? When I compared her two wrist that wrist was very swollen. Also there is only 5 mins between classes. She was early probably like 2 mins. It's funny that you keep mentioning that it happened during outside class time. Once a child enters your dojang, you should be caring about your student and stop mentioning it happened during outside class time which probably was like 2 mins before. You are the one who tells to get up and practice. You as a Master (there are two Masters) should have been more responsible and not made my daughter sit there for 45 mins holding her wrist. I have told this story many times to many other people who have asked what happened and they all reacted the same way. Please stop giving excuses.
