The chicken was very bland and the sauce on it was very watery and not sticky at all. 2/5 stars. Rice and Mac salad were standard fare and decently good, but the main dishes really dragged it down. I get it, being at an event serving hundreds of people, I think they just weren't prepared. My chicken looks nothing like the restaurants' photo of the chicken so I think they were just rushing through the orders, making extra to get by but not really having time to get the recipes 100% right. After living in Hawaii for a few years of my adult life, I've been waiting for Hawaiian food to hit the good 'ol 417, but this didn't quite do it for me. I bit disappointed. We are always trying to catch this…read moretruck open because the hours seem random. Finally we drive by and the doors are open! We were going to go classic, but the guy said they were really known for "gourmet grilled cheese" so we asked his recommendation. He recommended the BBQ Mac and cheese, so we agreed. We were given a pager, and waited in the car. Pretty fast; we also got a water so the total was $9 and change. Well I expect a lot from an $8 grilled cheese!!! The sandwich was small, regular sized bread "not even Texas Toast." The ingredients weren't piled high, and the worst part is they weren't premium "at all!" The cheese had no bite, or mouthfeel. Sure it looked cheesy, but the entire sandwich had zero flavor. The only thing I could taste was the BBQ sauce that was extremely heavily catsup based, and out of a container. Also the Mac and cheese tasted like it was off brand, as well as the cheese they used for the base. All I tasted was 1. Butter. 2. Bread and 3. BBQ sauce. I truly expected a combination and flavor explosion, and all I got was a bland basic sandwich for $9. Put your foot in it, pour some love and money into your product, don't cut corners to save money, and if you do then just don't make anything. Some Kraft cheese and some velveeta cheese would go a long way with this company. Yes the cheese they are using now is worse than the cheese I suggested they use!

Doggy Style has done mobile and is now a food truck. I caught up with them at Hold Fast Brewing…read morewhere they were set up. A simple square truck painted a bright yellow and red, it's hard to miss. The menu is posted on the side, written out on a white board. They put just about everything on their hot dogs and the names are "dog" related. The "Greyhound" has chili and cheese. The "Great Dane" has cheese, barbecue sauce and fried onion straws. I opted for the "K9" and it was absurd. Jalapeno sriracha cream cheese, jalapenos, bacon, pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo. It was loaded! Yes, the premium hot dogs are $10 but you're getting a hugely piled on hot dog with a big pile of nacho chips and a pot of spicy pimento cheese. This is not a small meal by any measure. Two of these would be too much for me and I eat big portions! Service was friendly and you can't beat the name. Try out Doggy Style! [Review 645 of 2024 - 337 in Missouri - 21676 overall]

Order a 24oz. drink Cup for $~4 or 32oz. for ~$6. Overall rating 4.0+ for my experience, appreciating Tyler's entrepreneurship and variety of soda delights and cookies. Celebrating a Bday, the kids wanted to have a special treat, so Fizz's was the choice for a quick outdoor stop. Craft Sodas are a mix of base soda (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Root Beer, Lemonade), plus mixing fun flavors, and then soft ice cream for a float. Thumbs up for the James River RB float, and also many other drinks to choose. We added a fresh cookie (Snickerdoodle or Chocolate Chip) to make a dessert combo ... 'sweet' treats to celebrate! Give Fizz's (parking lot by Ace Hardware on S. Campbell) a try and sample one of Tyler's creation if you want an inspired soda and some new flavors. Enjoy!

If you've ever been to the western states (Utah, I'm looking at you) then you'd know exactly what a…read morecraft soda and cookies shop is and how it works. Think Starbucks but instead of coffee as your base, soda is the base. So you can add all kinds of toppings, cream, syrups, etc. And they serve cookies, too. Now, soda is already sweet as it is! So add on syrups and it's A LOT. If you're new to this concept, stick with a diet soda if you're adding syrup and/or toppings. If you're just adding cream to it, then regular soda would be fine. But hey, if you think you can handle the sweet, go for it! My favorite that I've tried so far is the 417, but make it diet. It's a diet Dr Pepper, cream, and vanilla. Basic, but tasty. It's like a creamy vanilla Dr Pepper. And since it's diet, it isn't overpowering sugar on sugar. I've tried the Bear Trap, and it is good, but the cherry flavor is weird. I think it's because it is a cherry syrup and not a Cherry Coke. I think if it was a Cherry Coke with cinnamon, vanilla, and cream it would be fantastic! They also have Red Bull concoctions, if that's your thing. I haven't tried any of their cookies, but maybe next time I go I will. Overall, a fun treat and unique experience. Go check it out!
