Thankfully Kwik-Fit is only around the corner so I could leave the car there and pick it up when they'd finished. They have seating in their reception though if you have no choice but to wait. Although it was an unexpected (not to mention expensive) and unfortunate morning, the chap who served me was pleasant and professional. In fact, he'd noted that both my front tyres were getting a bit worn down so I decided it was best to get them both replaced at the same time. A good experience from a business name you can trust.

ARC 1 Tec is tucked down a little side road in the centre of Withington, just behind the well-known Fuel Café. It's a homely business crammed into a tiny premises. However, it means you get attention and friendly service from the charming and slightly oddball garage owner. When got a new tyre and a check on the alignment of the car (we'd had a flat) for just £44, which is really fair deal. It was done with a minimum of fuss and only took about 30 minutes, including the garage getting a new tyre delivered from another local company. Because they were so kind, friendly and hassle-free, we took the car back a few weeks later to get a service, and will probably be returning again when it's MOT time.

However that soon came down when I went to do my tyre pressures and found a nail in my rear left tyre. I decided to head on over to National Tyres in Stretford to ask them to take a look at it. There was actually two in there so needless to say I ended up having to have a new tyre. I asked how much the same tyre would be to be sold £120 - ouch! I asked how much would a mid range tyre be, I was told £110. Ouch some more! So faced with the decision of spending £10 less on a mediocre tyre or £10 more on a Dunlop the same that is on the rest of the car (from new), I opted for the latter. I can't exactly comment on the pricing on NTS as I haven't had to purchase the tyre elsewhere. Apparently the tyre was because it was specialist, low profile 17" for a sporty car. Due to this they did not have the tyre in stock so had to order one which came in 70 minutes. Another 20 minutes later my car was ready so the overall service I would say was good - to have a tire not in stock, ordered and on your car in 90 minutes was pretty good service even if I was bored to death while waiting. In the waiting room there is a drinks machine and toilet facilities so you can keep yourself refreshed (and emptied if required) so that was a bonus too. As for the rating, I did start this review with a three star but I am actually going to give it a four because to have something specially ordered and put on your car in such a short time is something to be grateful of, and the facilities provided made the wait that little bit more comfortable. So despite being £120 lighter, I would say it has been a good service.

A friendly and efficient service and whats more very respectful of women and not at all patronising. There seems to be no (or little) call out fee either on the mobile service, which alone makes them the perfect ones to call when you need your tyres need fixing or changing. Highly recommended.
