They don't send out touts to get your business like the other restaurants on the front. Depending upon the time of year, parking can be an issue. We have always managed to park on the harbour front early evening say about 18:30. Remember August is the Spanish holiday season too. I have given them 5 stars because the food is always good, but I sometimes question the value for money. By way of an example, the Cafe Latitude in Denia offers better value. Don't be fooled by the fish restaurants on the front. They are not what you see is what you get. Most of the staff at the Baydal have worked there for donkey's years. There English isn't great, but you can get your order across. Do try some Spanish, it is appreciated, even if only get the kids to say "Gracias". I can recommend the sole meunière.

This year, tired of servers that harass you when you walk along the port, I decided to launch my Yelp app, looking out for a good place where we are not accosted every 10 meters! Thanks to Yelp, I found "Baydal" - quite good rated and great location with nice views (port, sea and boats) when you sit on the terrace. Prices are higher than in the other restaurants but it is worth! A lot of local and Spanish people are coming here so it is always a good sign! Thumbs up for this cool address for seafood!

We ordered wine and beer by the glass and the prices for the drinks were really reasonable. At the beginning of the meal, the wait staff was very attentive. We typically order a bunch of dishes to share when we're at a restaurant. Overall, the food was good. However, I felt the rice dish was overpriced and underwhelming. When placing the order, we had contemplated ordering a smaller rice dish (for 2 instead of for 4) and getting another dish. The waiter emphasized how small the dish was. We ended up ordering the 4 and not getting another dish. I feel like that was probably the wrong move. We ordered the eggplant taco appetizer and it was delicious. The tortilla was likely prepared in house. It was thicker than a normal corn tortilla but had this awesome consistency. For some odd reason, the wait staff told us when ordering that the order came with 3 tacos. However, when we got the bill, we were charged 3 times. Our server had gone off shift, and the replacement said no, an order is just one taco. While the tacos were great, I don't think I would spend nearly $30 euros for 3 tacos. We ordered some coffee drinks to go with dessert. But those got lost along the way, and were brought out well after dessert was over. I think we actually got them the same time we got the check. We split 3 different desserts. All 3 were phenomenal. Everyone's favorite was the bread dish. It was labeled as a bread pudding in English. I think the Spanish term is Torrijas. It's not really a bread pudding, more like a French toast. Regardless, it was phenomenal. The dessert and the Peking duck Gyoza was the highlight of the meal. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. If ever go back, I'll do things differently. Maybe split the burger, it looked delicious.

There is a posh restaurant and a modest alternative. We could only get into the latter. It's fantastic. In a very unlikely area, but it's a culinary oasis in a desert of fried Spanish food.

This place has, from my memory, had a complete refurb in the time and is now run by the third generation of the family (Gabriel - spelling?). The place looks splendid, the ambiance is good, and the service is excellent. This is a high-end restaurant that prides itself on the best produce and covers a variety of cuisines. The wine selection is incredible: https://caprirestaurante.es/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/carta-bebidas-online.pdf The waiter took particular attention to explain items on the menu. I was keen to understand the age of the steaks. I was told that the one I was going to order had been aged for 30 days. More on this later. I'll include a pic of the bill. I had 4 oysters to start, and they were excellent. The other three had prawns, and they were enjoyed too. The young waiter was very attentive and kept our wine glasses topped up. The Chardonnay was equally excellent. Unfortunately, the: FILETE DE POLLO GRILLE A.O.P. BRESSE (FRANCIA), didn't translate too well in the English, and it was shown as: "Free-Range Roasted Chicken". This was my wife and daughter's choice, so I didn't pay much attention. A better clue was in the Spanish, in that it was grilled and not roasted. Roasted means something different to us English. It was a flattened breast of chicken had been grilled. Both women found this to be too dry and requested mayonnaise to provide more moisture. I was too preoccupied with mine to understand the issue, which I only learnt later as to why they left the food unfinished. I chose a T-bone steak which was big enough for my son and me to share - 600 grammes (80 Euros). He chose to have it cooked medium rare. It was cut off the bone at the table, and an older waiter was showing the younger one how it should be cut. the issue was that it was so tough, I couldn't chew it, and neither could my son. Sense says we should have stopped there and then and bring it to the attention of the waiter. We didn't and finished the steak. Overall, we things were fine except for the main courses. At the end of the meal Gabriel came to our table and asked if everything was fine. I replied, do you want me to be honest? She said yes. I told her about the steak (bear in mind I hadn't been fully aware about the problem with the chicken). She was very apologetic and offered us a drink to compensate. My reply was that I wasn't being honest for a freebie. Nevertheless, she took 40 euros off the price of the steak. All this made for a disappointing evening. I am only dropping off one star, as I think this was an unusual blip and not their norm. I think that is fair. I would, however, return, but I would stick with the seafood. I need to iterate that the place is fantastic and the staff are exceptional and you see on the job training taking place for the new staff. I also promised to send the link to this review. So, I hope that feel I have been fair. Finally, I mentioned my two friends (one had sadly died) who knew Alfredo very well and Gabriel gave me a hug before I left.
