I have been a T-Mobile customer since day one, after 9/11 specifically when I bought my first cellphone or mobile, year 2001. In the early days T-Mobile did not have much coverage and could be challenging in remote areas. However, over the years the connection has been flawless. Better than Verizon (which friends constantly complain about) and better than AT&T another service provider that gets hacked often, IMHO. I had decided on this brand service provider carrier since they're affiliated with Deutsche Telekom in Europe. Thus, great connections whenever traveling. According to recent reports T-Mobile is planning to eliminate human Customer Service Representatives in early 2026 switching to an AI dominant customer support footprint. So, you'll need to negotiate with a bot through their T-Life app whenever you need to open, close or change an account -- not to mention service or billing issues. I've had T-Mobile for two years and have been very pleased with the professionalism and responsiveness of their customer service staff. If they go full AI, I'm gone as I will not arm wrestle with a virtual being whose only conflict resolution skills will be found in a series of static, non-nuanced menus. I'm sure they've already run the numbers and have concluded if ten to twenty percent of their customer base takes a hike, their profits will still be just fine. I went and traded in my phone for a new plan, later that SAME day i went to get a return because I decided the bill was too high for me. When i went back they lied and said they shipped my old phone and couldnt do anything to help me and didn't want to offer me a refund. I went home checked my device app on my laptop and saw my phone was still in the same store. When i went to confront them they gave me some bullshit and then apologized and all of sudden said they could refund me half of my money SMH. Worse experience ever. I hope this ***Positive Review*** makes it to the management / corporate type people. This review is about my experience with employee "April" who assisted me on 5/19/2021 at around 10:30 AM. If there was more than one April, I am referring to the African American Female around 5'4". "April" was professional and delivered customer service at its very best. The best I have seen in a phone/provider store. Her process was really good. The listening of the phone issue points, her explanations of the steps she was taking, She also respected the privacy of the phone owner and before she pressed anything she would explain why and what she was about to do and if it was okay... all very well done. the most impressive thing: she adjusts the volume of her voice to the proper level depending on what she was doing and the distance between her mouth and your ear. Everything was at a comfortable volume and this is important because this location have very bare walls and sound travels easily. There were other people in the store that do not realize that the people they are speaking to are standing right there in front of them, very loud, very disturbing. April kept our discussion at a proper discreet volume. When April called the service dept. on the phone, the voice was at a proper phone call volume as well as tone. communication was on point and focused. Very good customer service person! I knew right away that this level of service deserves recognition so I came back afterwards after I got my lemonade from the target next door and told her how good I thought her work was. Came here with my friend who's upgrading to an iPhone 6 after being told we couldn't do so at the Apple Store because she wasnt an authorized user. Before finding this location, the locations we've tried to find either didn't exist or was already closed. Service is slow but that's probably because it's a Sunday and everywhere else is closed. Customer service was frustratingly terrible - the lady who helped us was impatient and had the knowledge base of a below-average consumer. I hadn't been in here in a while because I try to avoid the disaster that is 34th street, but this was the closest one to where I was, so.... The good - If your phone is dying, you can charge it here. Not every T Mobile has that It's crazy busy but they do try to be fair and go in order by taking your name down I got really great service from Christopher, who probably thought I was crazy when I requested to speak into a "clean" landline phone ( I have phone issues). He was super accomodating and wiped down the phone for me. I got what I needed done and that's what I came in for. I was expecting to have to wait, but I didn't. Yay The not so good- It's really busy, but it was a rush hour kind of deal and they had enough employees there to handle people...that and the list that was going on made things work a little more smoothly. It's frustrating how much the workers at this store only care about the commission they are about to make off of you. I had a worker tell me everything with my family plan would be A-okay and that I would not have to worry about anything when I created the family plan. They gave me a phone for free and it came with the free 4th line that they were promoting at the time. I though things were good to go. The first strike was that somehow my phone data and calling was disabled so I had to call customer service to get it enabled. It was at this time that they offered me a 5th free line because one of my lines on my family plan was a table and this phone line would be, as I've already mentioned, FREE! I took it, what the heck, they sent me the SIM card. The first bill on the family plan was over $300 and I was like WTF! I let it rock and me and my friend split the bill because this worker at the store did say the first bill would be high. When the second bill came and that was $250 I was pissed. Additional charges and fees for the tablet line, which the worker said would be on the family plan, but not for an extra $50, and the free phone was not so free. This was all straightened out by customer service, once again, but it's very disappointing that the workers, and this is at multiple locations, will smile in your face and tell you what you want to hear to make a "sale" only for you to have to go behind them and clean up their mess. The men that work here are the worst I've ever experienced. The woman was fine. Two men- one with an absurdly thin mustache (Chris) that was two different lengths and another who looked like he was doing the owner and the world an enormous favor for showing up for his job. He hadn't shaved in about 5 days. I've always loved t-mobile service until recently when it just hasn't worked. I went in to troubleshoot and they said I had to go to apple. I said I hadn't the time and I would be happy to upgrade - but needed my phone to have service. I said I would even just buy a new phone. The teller who was unshaven and looked filthy said: "would you buy a new car if it broke or take it to the shop"? I said this isn't a car. He said "I'm just giving you an analogy". And that says a lot because I have been with T Mobile for 5 years.I have been to T Mobile stores in Queens, Brooklyn, all over Manhattan and New Jersey. The employees in this store hate everyone walking in because they assume you are a tourist that does not speak English. Also most of the electronics do not work or are not available for a demo.The few products you can touch, do not have internet access. I was in New York in early December to enjoy the Holiday decorations and the Christmas spirit. On Saturday morning I went into the T-Mobile store at 124 West 34th street to see if they could explain why my text messaging on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone was no longer working. There were 4 employees in the store. A European gentlemen employee ( I didn't get his name, so let's just call him Numb Nuts) listened to my concern, and said that he would do a "quick diagnostic" to figure out what was wrong. After 10 minutes he came running out from the back, handing me my phone back, telling me that it was "instantly erasing" and it was a "bug" in my phone, and I would have to take it to Samsung. It took a Samsung employee in the Macy's store over an hour to get my phone partially working..............seems Numb Nuts had did a factory re-set that wiped out everything on my phone.......... I went back to the store to confront Numb Nuts, but was told that he was on "break".... Lucky him, because I was going to Break something of his for all his help. WTF..... Wish I would have read these other reviews before stepping foot inside this Store!!!! T-Mobile Management............can you HEAR me NOW!!! read more

T-Mobile itself is a decent company with very competitive plans. However, beware of shopping in this store. I went in to switch from Verizon and buy 2 new $725 phone. The guy behind the counter also jammed in 2 cases, screen protectors and a multi-phone charger and said they included in the deal. When I left, I realized that he didn't put any paperwork in the bag so when I got home, I logged in and found out that I had been charged for all of the items that were "included." No wonder he didn't give me a receipt! I ended up keeping the cases and protectors because they were competitively priced but immediately returned the $40 chargers that I didn't need. It's just a scummy way of doing business so be very careful when dealing with the people at this particular store! I will never give them my business ever again. read more

Been wanting to switch over to T-Mobile for awhile now and came here since it's close to my job. My situation was somewhat complicated since I was in a 2 year contract (seriously) and also wanted to keep my current phone with me. I must've come in at least 5 (if not more) separate times. Each time the reps were super patient and helpful. I asked a LOT of questions and definitely felt everyone was very genuine which is rare especially in a phone store. I went today to purchase a case and a screen protector I was helped by Raven and she was absolutely amazing and very patient with me and I know I'm not the easiest person to help when I have complex issues. She definitely was patient and super understanding when I came in with an issue and helped get me a case and the free item for T-Mobile Tuesday I have to admit I am not thrilled that the T-Mobile and sprint systems aren't combined it causes problems for the good employees who want to help the customers but are unable to because of how poorly the systems merging has been. Not her fault and honestly I appreciate everything she and her manager I am blanking on the name but both were super great and just very customer friendly. As a tourist, visiting NYC for the first time, the service I got here (from Victor, on March 1st 2015) was exceptional. It must've been their smallest sale of the day - just $30 for a pay-as-you-go SIM card - but I was treated like a king. Victor took the time to check that the SIM would work on my European unlocked phone, made sure it was all activated and working, before taking any money. Seriously, I wish we had this level of service in Europe. (Btw, buying a US SIM card during my 7-day visit was a lifesaver for me... just being able to turn on Google Maps and find out where I was a relief.) read more

T-Mobile has a great campaign going on. Uncomplicated, no contracts, no hassles - great for consumers. I went into this location to buy a micro-sim for my unlocked phone, and a prepaid plan. Even though I knew exactly what I wanted, I had to deal with a typical mobile store salesman (Akomar or something...). This representative should have worked at any other mobile carrier. He gave an attitude and a customer experience the opposite of what T-Mobile wants. *Repeatedly tried to sell me a "contract" plan @ $50/mo, after being told multiple times that I wanted to try a pre-paid plan for a little while and make sure T-Mobile had good coverage in all the places I drive+work. *Tried to push a $70 prepaid plan on me to handle all of my 4G needs, even though I told him multiple times that I'm nearly always on wifi and didn't need data for my evaluation. *Told me that the $30 prepaid plan (which is what I wanted) only had 30MB of data included and that would only account for 5 web pages. Wonder what kind of sites he goes to? *Printed a receipt (finally!) with gibberish characters all over it. Told me that "the computer just does that sometimes". *Didn't smile once. This is probably worst of all. Terrible experience. I will never go back to that W34th location and will tell my friends to avoid it. I usually go to the other t mobile stores and never have issues. I happened to stop by this one because I was in the area. My friend that was with me was interested in switching to t mobile so we walked in sat down with one of the male associates. Forgot his name but he's not hard to pin point he's overweight. He answered all our questions until he asked for my fiends license and she gave to to him and then proceeded to type into an iPad and then asked what her address was. I then realized is he really doing what I think he is?... Wowwww straight up I asked if he was trying to check her credit?! He said yes! ummm wtf he NEVER asked if it was ok for him to check her right then and there we went in only to inquire about a plan. Never once did he ask permission to check it. He was being so sneaky idk what type of business tactics they have at this t mobile but it's horrible! I will never come back to this location. Seems like what most reviewers stated before they just want to make a sale. ((Clearly)) How highly unprofessional for this dude to go a proceed and attempt to check someone's credit without verbally communicating and being transparent about what he was trying to do. I am a long time T-Mobile customer and i stuck with them through the years. I have been there when they were struggling and if it wasn't for the creation of Android, and the redefining of what a smartphone is by Apple, this brand might not even be around anymore. Competition is a good thing. I am not a fan of 34th street. It is TOO crowded and some of the people walking around in the area are very questionable. Some seriously look dangerous and devious. Anyways, when i do come into this store to get a new handset (sorta upgrading) since upgrading these days isn't really upgrading since T-Mobile no longer does 2 year contracts - the experience has always been good. Yes, it does get packed in this store, but the sales associates/customer service reps here are great and if there is a seating area available, they do bring one over to go over what options are available. They truly try to work with you and take time in servicing you when needed. The sales reps know when its busy and they can't really dedicate that kinda time to assisting you if it is not logical based on a sense of urgency. This location is their flagship in Manhattan, Its a HUGE store and their magenta colored bulbs bring such fund energy to their brand. One let down is the selection. Sometimes i feel the other carriers get certain exclusives and T-Mobile gets shut out. I wanted the HTC One Maxx and i wanted the Nokia Lumia 1520, but none made it to Magenta. The rates and plans are great and truly toss the competition to the side. I never have an issue with their coverage. It is NOT humanly possible to have bad coverage is such a populated city like NY. Even if 4G LTE is not available, the phone will transition to regular 4G/3G and if needed, it'll even go to 2G. There are so many options. Not to mention, this is the only carrier that offers wifi calling. So even if you did have bad reception, one can always connect to wifi to make a call. I'd recommend this carrier to anyone. Customers truly save money once the phone is paid off. read more

they took my phone back after about 10 days of use, no questions asked. in and out in 5 minutes with my credit card fully refunded, including the supposedly non-refundable $20 restocking fee. hopefully i won't have to visit a t-mobile store in the future under such stressful circumstances, but if i do, this will be the one for sure. read more
