BEWARE - T-mobile permits ELDER ABUSE
My grandparents were both on a 55+ plus plan (they are 75 and 80, respectively, and English is not their first language) and were school crossing guards; my grandmother recently retired, so they are on a fixed limited income. One day, they went in without me and were taken advantage of. I used to work for T-Mobile and am well aware of the incentives reps get to their paycheck when they open a new line or new account. My grandmother went in for an upgrade, and the representative moved her to my grandfather's account and changed her account plan to an unlimited plan. They left her original line active on her account, which resulted in double charges, them never being able to pay in time and needing extensions. They asked me to look into their bill because they didn't understand why it was so expensive. I came to find out they were also double-charging my grandmother for 360 protection on both accounts. The same IMEI was on file for a line on my grandmother's account, and the new one added to my grandfather's account. So they were being charged double for a phone line that was not being used. They were never explained anything about the changes to their plan. When I called T-Mobile for assistance, they only connected me to people outside the U.S. ( The stores said they couldn't help us and that we had to call). This was another five months of trying to get help, being told a manager would call, but no call was ever made. Today, I called for one last attempt at resolution, and after being connected to a "manager," I started explaining the issue...they hung up on me, and trust me, I could have approached them with anger, but I told my family we were leaving T-mobile I just want the money that they stole from them back. Luckily, iPhones have a feature that allows you to record calls. I have those recordings and will submit them to the Better Business Bureau, where I will be pursuing legal action. Their refusal to help or even investigate is a big issue here. read more
