The employees could not help with her phone, claimed the phone was broken. Could not explain how the phone would be broken and still work on wifi. They proceeded to tell me she needed a new phone. I told them to give me the info so I could figure out what the best plan was for my family. They continued pursuing the idea of selling us a new phone. I told them that I do not buy phones, the only phones I get are the free promo phones. We don't do fancy or expensive in my house. They continued anyway. The boy "helping" us brought out a fancy new phone and gave it to my daughter. There was still no discussion of cost. He said there was a line upgrade for my number & we could use that for her new phone. Again, he did not discuss the possibility of this raising my monthly bill, or any costs with this at all. He downloaded an app & transferred her data to the new phone. Again without discussing of costs. On the invoice I saw he charged $50 to do this. This is absolutely ridiculous. We went home with this new phone. I was led to believe what I paid in the shop was the total costs, this was completely fictional. And the phone did not work after getting home with it. It had been flagged for fraud. Another employee fixed that issue the following day. Again no discussing of the costs of this phone. I checked my Verizon app and my estimated bill was now nearly doubled!!!!!! This is completely unacceptable. Verizon is saying this store is an authorized dealer, but not a Verizon store. They have no control or say over what this store does. BEWARE!!!!!!!!! The practices of this store fell more than unethical, it feels criminal to me.

I decided to go into the Thurmont store to see if they could help. Even though my situation was unique (child account deleted from family plan and not able to carry over to new phone), although he worked for a phone company for over 17 years, he has never seen this kind of scenario. It merely took him 10 minutes to resolve the situation, restore the account, and move the data to the new phone. His diligence and willingness to assist me shouldn't go unnoticed and I appreciate everything he did to not only resolve, but took the avenues needed to fix my problem instead of transferring me or telling me to call Google as the 1-800 assistant tried to pass the call. Thanks Rob for taking the initiative and being top dog!

Got a membership in an attempt to get Pokemon but thanks to Hagerstown Sams today (September 24,…read more2026) that was an epic failure; Found out that multiple employees took their "break" all at the same time in order to buy Pokemon; which just happened to be the same time the Pokemon pallet hit the floor. They are not giving the general public the same opportunity; Also there's supposed to be this "limit" in place but that was not enforced and they allowed people to loop back and destroy 288 Focused Fighters boxes. It must be nice to do whatever you want to do; I understand that they may not want people camping out of their store - but the last time they dropped Focus Fighters boxes I actually had an opportunity to buy them; having some random drop in the middle of the day for their employees and their friends and families more than likely doesn't seem like a Pokemon drop to me - it seems like backdoor activity- and i will no longer do business with this establishment! Why go to Sams when you can go to Costco?

Julia took care of me with absolute skill and kindness. With 50 years of experience under her belt and specialized equipment on-site, she had my frames repaired and custom-fitted better than they ever before--master-level service and true old-school customer care. I had determined I would not go back to the chain store that didn't even bother to fit my expensive eyewear just two months ago when I purchased them. When the hinge pulled out, I was dismayed. I'm so glad that I decided that I wanted truly good service and was willing to pay for it. Not only was I astounded by Julia's skill and the level of service, Julia didn't charge me. She told me to pass on the kindness. I cannot recommend Julia and Martinsburg Optical enough.
