They suggested Neumiller, so I called them and they were at my house within an hour to install a new breaker and run the line from the breaker box through my crawlspace for my soon-to-be-installed electric water heater. The tech, Tony, was AMAZING, quick, efficient and very nice while he explained the process. Even the person I spoke with on the phone (Kim) was very kind and made sure she got a tech to me as soon as she could. THANK YOU!! Within 24 hours of returning home, I now have hot water again.

They're refusing to refund me. I was not told or shown anything regarding this during installation. I have been paying via auto-pay and honestly just trusted that my bill was accurate. Very poor customer service in this regard. I will be switching my provider and looking into small-claims court. Extremely disappointing since I grew up with this company. Apparently it's gone downhill without Frances then JR. Also, I've never had great experience with their internet quality. I know some have, however. Most expensive internet in the area with marginally better service.

This is a department that seems very trained in "legalese" and are depending on customer ignorance to push service problems back on the customer. The only reason the "Total Care" email is spammed all over social media, reddit, Google/Yelp reviews, etc is to give the illusion they are fixing the customer issues. They simply aren't. tl;dr - In my opinion (and others), this department is a waste of time. My advice is to avoid Mediacom if you can. Sometimes you get lucky and their service works great but as someone who spends a lot of time on the internet, their service is very subpar for the price.

I switched back to Mediacom, so now I'm tearing out what little hair I have left!! The service was installed in mid-May, and the cable is still not buried!!! I have called, texted, emailed, chatted, and even went into their Iowa City office! All I get is apologies and excuses! And the worst thing is, their Customer Service phone lines and chat ring in the Philippines! Nice people, but they do not have a clue!! At least Imon had USA-based Customer Service!

Too expensive. Canceling is hell. I had a cell phone + watch bundle and switched to a carrier…read morethat costs only 25 percent as much. They only canceled my cell phone plan, leaving the watch line active. It took me a while to notice the account was not fully canceled, which cost me money for nothing (the watch line was On Hold since I had lost the watch). Then, they made me call back later to ask for a refund of my balance. After 5 weeks I noticed I hadn't gotten my refund back so I called yet again. Turns out you cannot ask for a refund until at least 30 days has passed after your deactivation. It had failed to process and they were waiting for me to call back. So now I should FINALLY have my meager refund in 2 days. I hope it comes. They are also refusing to send me the final bill. They say they can't. That is absolutely insane and sounds illegal to me.
