I've been here about 6 or 7 times, 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for supper. I have never tried lunch…read morehere, but it's the exact same menu for all 3 seatings so it shouldn't really matter. And about the menu, if you have ever seen one of the Restaurant Makeover type shows on TV, the first thing they would do is reduce the items on this menu by two thirds. The menu is MASSIVE. Everything from 6 types of eggs benedict to japanese gyoza to steak and lobster to you name it, its probably here. In trying to please everyone, I think they have missed specializing in anything. I have had omelettes and the 'breakfast platter' at breakfast time, both of which were filling and came out hot and eggs cooked perfectly. I have also had the Mondo Burger. Go hungry if you are going to attempt this giant. The thing is massive and smothered in wonderful barbecue sauce (ask for extra napkins). I will take a picture next time I go in the evening, you need to see it to believe how big it is. Avoid the fries, they are extremely dry. I would describe the interior as 'Truck-stop-tries-to-masquerade-as-restaurant'. Could desperately use some updating or something, anything modern. A good start would be some new furniture. And what's with the deck sitting unused? A beautiful deck out back full of broken down junk. not too appealing as I walk from the parking lot to the entrance. At least they hide it well so the old broken bbq's and stacks of crap can't be seen from inside the seating area. The washrooms have been well stocked and clean every time I've been here. The waitstaff do a pretty decent job, considering the other venues in this town. Although if you go for breakfast, be prepared to have your coffee cup re-filled so often that you have to hide it behind the napkin holder so they stop pestering you to fill it to the rim after every sip. If they don't think you have a cup of coffee, they will leave you alone. I am so serious on this one folks, not a word of exaggeration, it gets annoying. However it does take a while to fill drink orders in the evening, strange... The prices are a bit on the high side with the Mondo Burger coming in at about $18 and breakfast averaging about $11. Still not as bad as Silvercreek for breakfast. I like it here and I will be going back for sure. We were thinking about having a Mondo Burger eating contest with the loser paying for all the Mondo Burgers eaten, but it hasn't happened yet, will keep this review updated if it does.

It's the only place in town with decent service, and that has a menu that makes any of the 3 main meals well. You can tell by how busy it is at any given time that there are quite a few people on town that feel the same way ;)

The menu said it was to include "artisan lettuce, shaved fennel, sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized pecans and dried cranberries" however it only came with spring mix lettuce and dried cranberries. For a $9 salad, this was really disappointing. I also had the seafood chowder which was really tasty. It came with plenty of seafood including haddock, scallops shrimp and a side of toasted garlic bread. Service was decent and there was a TV in the restaurant area with the game on which was a bonus.

Roustabouts is haunted by the ghosts of restaurants past. Originally opened in the 70's as…read more Beefeaters, a popular steakhouse catering to mainly business types. Liquor flowed, deals were sealed and anyone unfortunate enough to be wearing a tie had it clipped off and displayed on the trophy wall. The restaurant changed hands until it was renovated and rebranded as part of the Fogg N Suds franchise, renowned for its impressive line up of international beers, fishbowls of cocktails and awe inspiring draft beer towers. The crowds were usually young, loud and very enthusiastic. Under new ownership and a management change Roustabouts opened. Emphasis was placed more on family dining and quality food. I've had more than a few memorable meals here with friends. So I was quite surprised at the mediocre quality of my last few visits. I ordered my old standby favorite, pulled pork. Not at all the tender, saucy, melt in your mouth, drip down your chin experience I remember. The pork was chewy and dry. As were the little cup of mushrooms offered as a $2 side, advertised as sautéed but had obviously not been introduced to a lick of butter. The gravy was another disappointment. I can't eat naked fries, if you're going to charge extra for gravy make it from beef drippings and flour. However the service was friendly and the Keith's amber ale was frosty and delicious!

This time around the service was... well, I'll have to say it was bizarre. I ordered a spicy cheeseburger and fries to dine in and Thai chicken bits to go. Waiter did not have a clue about the specials or the menu items in general. I asked for an unsweetened iced tea and got sweet tea which I returned and got water. Food was ready pretty quickly, however, he tried to hand my plate with the burger and fries to me while I was standing at the ATM getting cash, I told him that it'd be great if he put my food on the table, and he did (Albeit sans silverware or napkins so I walked to the waitstaff station and helped myself). As I was eating he stopped by to see if I needed anything else and I said I'd like for him to provide Thai chicken bits. He explained that I had ordered them to go and would be presented with that portion of my order after I finished my burger and fries. While I was still eating he stopped by again and asked if I'd be needing anything else or if I wanted my check. Having been enlightened earlier with the knowledge that under no circumstances would I get my Thai chicken bits until I finished my burger and fries, I told him yes, bring the check. He came back and stood next to me and figured out the check, then placed the wi-fi credit card reader thing on the table next to my unfinished plate of food. He stood nearly at attention (a bit creepy) and waited while I wiped the grease and ketchup off of my hands and fished my wallet out to pay this fine young waiter. BTW the food was pretty good, about what I expect from Denny's. I almost didn't leave the waiter a tip but felt a little sorry for the guy for having put him through the traumatic experience of serving me a burger and fries so I left $5. It may be the last tip he ever receives.

Restaurant was very clean and the front staff were friendly and inviting. Throughout my meal the server was attentive and accommodating to my picky requests :) Got a chance to interact with several of the friendly staff while munching away. Was especially impressed by the supervisor on shift (morning of June 20). Somehow she noticed that I love orange marmalade and made sure my second order of toast included extra marmalade packets. Little things like that mean a lot! Maybe I'm weird, but I love clean bathrooms and always notice when they are attended properly. The bathrooms here were awesome! (i.e clean, good flush pressure, proper water faucets, soap dispenser works, towel dispenser works). Anyways, love this place and will be coming back for sure.
