She told us she would relay all the details to the owner, who is also Filipino. We waited the entire day for a call or message, but received nothing. When I followed up, Kath said her boss was "waiting for more details" and wouldn't proceed -- yet no one contacted us to ask for anything. It felt like they had no intention of discussing the catering with us at all. If they didn't want to serve us, they could have simply said so instead of wasting our time and leaving us assuming everything was going smoothly. We ordered two different dishes for 15 people. Apparently, because we didn't provide a budget, they refused to move forward. We already gave all the necessary details, and they could have easily sent an estimated price range. Instead, we got silence and confusion. Very unprofessional and disappointing. As a Filipino myself, I wanted to support this business, but after this experience, I definitely cannot recommend this place.

I've been here about 6 or 7 times, 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for supper. I have never tried lunch…read morehere, but it's the exact same menu for all 3 seatings so it shouldn't really matter. And about the menu, if you have ever seen one of the Restaurant Makeover type shows on TV, the first thing they would do is reduce the items on this menu by two thirds. The menu is MASSIVE. Everything from 6 types of eggs benedict to japanese gyoza to steak and lobster to you name it, its probably here. In trying to please everyone, I think they have missed specializing in anything. I have had omelettes and the 'breakfast platter' at breakfast time, both of which were filling and came out hot and eggs cooked perfectly. I have also had the Mondo Burger. Go hungry if you are going to attempt this giant. The thing is massive and smothered in wonderful barbecue sauce (ask for extra napkins). I will take a picture next time I go in the evening, you need to see it to believe how big it is. Avoid the fries, they are extremely dry. I would describe the interior as 'Truck-stop-tries-to-masquerade-as-restaurant'. Could desperately use some updating or something, anything modern. A good start would be some new furniture. And what's with the deck sitting unused? A beautiful deck out back full of broken down junk. not too appealing as I walk from the parking lot to the entrance. At least they hide it well so the old broken bbq's and stacks of crap can't be seen from inside the seating area. The washrooms have been well stocked and clean every time I've been here. The waitstaff do a pretty decent job, considering the other venues in this town. Although if you go for breakfast, be prepared to have your coffee cup re-filled so often that you have to hide it behind the napkin holder so they stop pestering you to fill it to the rim after every sip. If they don't think you have a cup of coffee, they will leave you alone. I am so serious on this one folks, not a word of exaggeration, it gets annoying. However it does take a while to fill drink orders in the evening, strange... The prices are a bit on the high side with the Mondo Burger coming in at about $18 and breakfast averaging about $11. Still not as bad as Silvercreek for breakfast. I like it here and I will be going back for sure. We were thinking about having a Mondo Burger eating contest with the loser paying for all the Mondo Burgers eaten, but it hasn't happened yet, will keep this review updated if it does.

Complete with working hay loft and fiddle contests this dive bar was crucial in my formative years as a budding alcoholic. The building was purchased in 1999, found structurally lacking, torn down and replaced with this pub which has become a community favorite ever since. The bar featured daily gastropub quality food and cocktail specials as well as Wednesday night karaoke, popular with both the sober and soused patrons. The original owners/managers retired last year leaving the pub vacant for several months. The new owners reopened without the original kitchen and wait staff and the experience wasn't quite the same. I slowly stopped going here. Flash forward to yesterday, imagine my pleasure in finding the special board featuring two of my all time Dundee favorites. Root beer paralyzers and ham and lentil soup. The paralyzers were unqualified in quality and three of them quickly evaporated on my tongue. The soup though flavorful and savory must have been simmering for a long time as all the vegetables had turned to mush. All the other specials were extravagantly priced (seafood linguine at $24) seems a bit much. I did have a pleasant chat with the young lady waiting the tables. I learned the pub features local musicians of various genres, including a recent performance by the talented duo "Twin Peaks". These two are destined for greatness, a must see if you get a chance. Check out Jackfishes facebook page for upcoming acts and dates. Meantime drop by, say hi and try one of these paralyzers, or maybe two.
