This review reflects my experience in service requested and value. I met with the Clement Construction representative to give me a quote to pave two spaces changing from grass to blacktop in my commercial parking lot and to repair the area around 5 drains. I was to take out any stump and he would do the rest. The work would be done by the end of the fall. We shook hands and he thanked me for my business. Later in the fall after I called a couple of times, he said he was not going to get to my project. He said to fill the space, which I had removed the stumps, and fill with crusher run to grade. Effectively this was the base needed before applying the asphalt. I had crusher run brought in and paid to have it spread. The next week he called to say something came up so he could work on my project but only that area I had retrofit; effectively the most profitable area for him. He would do this, "as a favor to me", for a price. In that price, no consideration was made for the money I had expended and no reference to what was left to be done. I made two mistakes. I should not have done this agreement without a contract. What can I say. I'm old school. Secondly, I shouldn't have agreed to the price he demanded in the end. I felt he had me over a barrel.
