Vondelpark is a beautiful park, and this is a nice, relaxing stop to take while exploring it. Plenty of tables, great service, and good menu options make this place a must-stop on your journey. This is the type of cafe where you order and pay at the kiosk, take a seat, and wait for your food to be delivered to you. To eat, I decided to try their pizza and was not disappointed. It was good! Reasonably priced and satisfying. The beer was a great addition, adding to an overall fun experience. If visiting Amsterdam with extra time, definitely give this place a try. Probably a pleasant place if you're just looking for a beer or two, but the food here is absolutely mediocre, at best. We got a cheese pizza, which was decent-ish, and nasty chicken bites - EXTREMELY oily and fatty deep-fried dark chicken meat. Toast with tomatoes was served on ridiculously stale and hard bread with next to zero oil/balsamic as advertised. Disappointed by this, in a country and region known for their bread products! Saved from a one star review by the ok pizza and a beautiful location in the park. Service (order at the counter and then wait for food with a buzzer at your table) is also quite slow - be prepared to wait a while for your food to be ready. read more

Take yourself on a nice, long stroll through Vondelpark and treat yourself with a cold beer and a hot slice of pizza when you're done! There isn't too much seating inside but if the weather is nice enough there are plenty of tables outside where you won't have a problem. There were a handful of beers on tap, all of what I had tasted very fresh and cold. They have quiet a bit of food on their menu, anything from snacks to pizza and dessert. We ordered a slice of pizza each thinking it was going to be similar to a Sicilian slice, but one slice was really two and that makes for a meal in my opinion! For only 3-5 euro I thought it was a good price. You can order inside but make sure you know your table number/color! They also have some table service you can order from as well. Real cool little spot to relax while you're out there sightseeing. I could see this as a nice place to meet up with friends if I lived in the area. Loved it! read more

We ventured into Vondelpark, as it's a lovely park to go for a stroll... and then stumbled upon this place. Great for some cold beers and snacks while chilling outside. It's self-service, so you have to line up inside to get your drinks and stuff. I ordered a blueberry muffin and was told to get my own muffin from large baskets sitting past the cashier. The muffin was pretty tasty, and there was ample seating outdoors to enjoy the park for as long as we wanted. There was a wooden swing bench on the side, and my bf and I sat there for a bit until it got too cold, and then we moved to a table in the sun. This place also has free wi-fi and is great for a pit stop if you need to use the bathroom. Bathroom is co-ed with individual stalls and one shared sink. read more

A Dutch friend took me here and insisted it had the best apple pie. I was skeptical given the mediocre reviews compared with the super popular Winkels I had gone to a couple days prior, but my friend was right. It was so good!!! A high apples to crust ratio and the crust was light and apples were just the right amount of sweetness. I basically inhaled my piece. Significantly better than Winkel's (sorry, but it's true!)... which was good, but not nearly as good as this place. Plus, it's also in Vondelpark so the views were a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend coming here if it's apple pie you're craving. I only wish I had time to go back a second time before leaving! read more

Just a relaxed cafe where you can sit for a long time without anyone bothering you. You order at the bar and the prices for coffee are fine, 2,20€ for a cappuccino. Can't tell you about the food as I've only had drinks here. You can park your bike outside. read more

The outside area is a terrific place to enjoy the beverage of your choice and do a little people watching too boot. This place is all about location! In the middle of the park, it's a great place to relax with a drink. I found a shady spot on the top floor and its really nice here. I can still hear the music from inside. You do have to get your own stuff; go in on the bottom floor and order before finding a place to sit upstairs! Since the Marriott is so close to the park, I took a stroll and had a nice latte with apple pie from the cafe. It was nice to relax after the stroll to sit and enjoy my coffee. Takes card. i've only stopped in for a drink and a muffin with my dogs. they leave dog bowls out everywhere which of course i like :) the muffins were really good. in fact, i went back and got another one..haha. one day i'll have to try some of their food. but the location is great, smack dab in the middle of vondel park and you can't miss the circular and blue building with plenty of outdoor seating. read more

Five stars for location and sun on the terrace, two stars for the rest of it. When I first arrived there was no table service, so I had to go inside to order. There were two people working and both waiting on one guy. They seriously could not get it together. I stood there like an idiot for nearly five minutes while they practiced their French with him and tried to remember what he ordered. Finally they asked me for my order. There was the usual touching of the sugar and cookies with their hands and then using those same hands to handle money... hello hygiene police... but then I had to carry my drink down some very steep stairs back to my table. Later they had table service so I didn't have to witness the hygiene violations or risk my life on the steep steps. They are surviving on location alone I'm afraid. read more
