Boys t-shirts are infinitely more comfortable than girls, don't ask me why, they just are. Unfortunately, they also have a habit of looking downright crappy on us girls. The solution? Melbourne Central's T-Bar. A dedicated t-shirt shop selling a range of mens and womens tees in a plethora of colours and motifs and made out of some of the softest fabrics you're likely to find.
Having developed a bit of a penchant for one of my boyfriend's T-Bar tees, I happily agreed to join him on a little excursion to their only Melbourne store, a modern, glass housed affair within Melbourne Central Station stocking a huge array of designs. And I'm impressed, very impressed.
Ok, the tee obsessive minds behind T-Bar might erroneously argue that 'the T-Shirt is the most dominant form of personal expression' - mightier than the pen, really?! - but they know their tee stuff. Commissioning both Australian and international artists to design motifs to adorn T-Bar's high quality t-shirts and selling them from their small chain of exclusively t-shirt selling stores across australia.
Tees are $40 each, $69 for two or $99 for three and the dedicated girls section stocks some very lovely tees. That said, I left the store empty handed while my boyfriend bought four. But then, one of those almost certainly has my name on it. read more
