Of course, this is Hugo Boss after all, it's expensive clothing but if you're looking to invest in…read morea great suit that will last you a long time and you can wear frequently then maybe it's worth a look. My parents bought me a good quality suit for an 18th birthday present and it has lasted me a long time and is perfect for any formal occasions so perhaps if you can spend the little extra than you'll find it worthwhile. Otherwise, if you're a "suit man", you'll no doubt already have something of Hugo's in your wardrobe and might want to add more to it. Very strange position sitting in the middle of Glenhuntly Rd? Not the classiest place for it.

Lionel Meerkin Menswear appears to be experimenting with a new approach to customer service;…read moreessentially a 'mash-up' between a store selling mid to high-end menswear, and customer service akin to that of a Vietnamese market stall trader. From the moment I entered the store, I was badgered constantly by the owner. Whilst looking at the suit/ blazer rack; "Are you intending on buying a jacket?", whilst looking at the trouser section; "Are you intending on buying trousers?" and then "are you intending on making a purchase today?". I had politely informed him that I was just browsing and that I would let him know if and when I saw something. The owner finally informed me that his stock changed constantly and that there was no point in me coming in just for a look, I should only return when I intended on making a purchase! I gladly took him up on his offer and left there and then. All in all, I had been in for less than 5 minutes. Mr Meerkin, I'm sure you've been in the business many years, and I'm also sure that when it comes to tailoring, fit, accessories etc you may have a wealth of knowledge to impart. But may I offer you some advice? Do not tell your (potential) customers how they should shop. I have been in (both browsing and purchasing!) far higher-end stores than yours and I'm well aware of what I'm doing. And just in case you're listening, Mr Meerkin, to answer your question; Yes, I certainly am making a number of purchases, none of which will be in your shop.

Allow me to be very specific here. Unless you have some cash to spend, leave all credit cards,…read morewallets and anything you can hock at home. If you venture into Christine (which in itself may be a little difficult, it is quite literally underground and notoriously hard to find) you will struggle to leave empty handed. Christine is the boutique embodiment of the idea that is Aladdin's Cave, for once you have decended those stairs and witness the delights within, you'll have a hard time leaving. Christine stocks all manner of shoes, jewels, handbags, scarves, scents, hats and anything else in the accessory category. Most of all, the owner (I'll let you guess what her name may be) really knows her stuff. She can recognise the label and season of almost any bag with just a glance and has an impressively detailed inventory of the store swimming around in her head. Bottom line: visit at your own peril. You may never leave and if you do, it certainly won't be empty handed.
