We wondered if the restaurant was closed, despite their hours, but then the owners pulled up after a bit. It turned out that they were working at the restaurant the night before until 2:30 AM, because they were short-staffed... so they were just running late. Despite the fact that they were running the restaurant - just the two of them - and were surely exhausted, they were such a delight. He put on his chef's hat, and she got to taking orders, and we experienced a delicious meal together. Delicious scallops, fried shrimp, and fried green tomatoes! What a gem! If we ever find ourselves near there again, we will certainly make the drive to visit again!

It had good flavor, but I prefer hot soup. The seafood platter comes with fries, slaw, and hushpuppies. I asked for asparagus instead of the fries. They added $2 for the exchange and didn't give me the slaw. The asparagus was warm but the fish and oysters were cold. Service and food are normally good here. I would suggest not doing a party of over 6. The kitchen can't seem to handle it. I was not the only person in the group that had problems with their food. I expect better when you are paying average $50 a person for the experience. Fortunately we were in the party room upstairs. It was very loud in the restaurant and we were able to close the doors so we could talk to each other.
