Joe's Landscaping & Concrete

Joe's Landscaping & Concrete

(1 review)

Seeing as how spring is finally here I decided it was time to dress up my yard a bit…read more I received a quote from Joe's for new sod. The area is not particularly large. The quote was mostly for labor, as I would provide the sod itself. The man who came out for the quote was very nice and stated it was a relatively simple job (as I would imagine for a professional landscaping company). He stated it would take two to three days. Again, a job like this should be a Tuesday for a landscaping company. Judging by the quote I received this job must be the most labor intensive work they've ever done. The cost was outrageous. Nearly five figures for "two to three days work". I'm still puzzled how that is possible. Three persons at $100 an hour (8 hours a day for three days) would still come short of the quote! I assume this is why when I asked how many persons and how long exactly it would be I got a non-answer. The woman I spoke to was very nice but very vague. I've never seen a quote for that amount of money with such little information. I think the expectation was that I just sign it and be done. Nevertheless, I admire their boldness. Anyway, I'm sure they do fine work. So if you're a Rothschild, Astor or Vanderbilt Joe's Landscaping is for you, no doubt. If you're a little more cost conscious and would like to know exactly what you're paying for, you may want to look elsewhere. My assumption is that the job was simply a waste of time for them. Why not throw out an absurd number if you don't really need the business? Lastly, I feel like posting pictures to your business profile of this brand new facility, with the brand new building, new equipment, and the billion yards of concrete you poured there kind of speaks to "Perhaps this place is going to charge a lot of money" no? Something to consider optics wise.
