No showed an appt that was made three days in advance to come give me an estimate for service. Guess they did me a favor by showing me how unreliable they are before I handed over any money. In response to Sergio: the way a business owner responds is also very telling. This guy acts like I was trying to get something free--estimates are free in the vast majority of cases. He quoted $320-400 a month a few days ago, today was just to see the property and give me a definite price. Obviously I was willing to spend money. I'm not upset I didn't get my "free estimate," I'm upset at the lack of professionalism. If I had been notified BEFORE my appointment window was missed that nobody was coming, maybe the ER story would've been a bit more believable, but the fact that he reached out only after I posted my review says a lot. If he was in the ER with his son, you wouldn't think he would have had the time to have been engaging in so much back and forth with me on Yelp messaging. Anyway, moving on... hope your son feels better. read more

I called Prado's this morning and, to my surprise, Sergio answered right away. He showed up on time, gave us a very reasonable quote to grind out a large tree stump, and was able to do the work the same day to fit our tight timeline. He cleaned up the area after he was done and checked in with us about the job to make sure we were satisfied before he left. To top all this off, he's a really courteous and nice guy! My husband asked him to do a few more smaller jobs while he was here and he still asked very reasonable prices even though he had to go get more equipment to do them. Response to owner: Yes you said you had no CSLB license but I went ahead and gave you a second chance only to find your bid nearly 250% higher than a CSLB licensed and insured contractor. No quote is free if it is a waste of time hoping to get a lower price. Instead the unlicensed are way more expensive. What a paradox to show you don't always get what you pay for. No more second chances for unlicensed firms or mom and pop small businesses. It's like a dealership versus your neighborhood mechanic not factory trained. He arrived on time and did exactly what I had expected. He was able to remove the root ball of the tree which I prefer over grinding. I requested a quote for tree removal by phone late in the evening on this past Monday holiday. I received a response within minutes. We scheduled the service to be done and Sergio showed up and got the job done. He removed a palm tree from my backyard, including stump removal, pruned a tree in the front, and also did some maintenance work on a huge pine tree. He paid much attention to detail on how we wanted the front trees to look like and they turned out perfect. He even had me come out and see if there were any adjustment I wanted.
