One of the staff helped us find a shared table and she later delivered our meal. Friendly and quick. We shared the Ankara mix plate with rice and a a mixture of lettuce, tomato and sliced onions. The kebabs had a different taste with the seasoning used but meats were moist and tender. Reasonable prices and good tasting food.

Åhléns City is a large department store in the city centre of Stockholm from a large department…read morestore chain as Åhléns has locations in almost every city in Sweden to the point they have 18 stores in its' capital, Stockholm alone and Åhléns are also the fourth largest group of fashion retailers in Sweden. Unusual for a chain department store, it is notable enough to have its' own Wikipedia page on the Swedish website and it was sadly the sight of the terrorist attack on Stockholm in 2017 which means it is also blue-graded by the Stockholm City Museum, which corresponds to the requirements for building memories in the Cultural Heritage Act. The store is pretty large - it is actually the largest in the Åhléns brand to the point this store alone makes up 20% of the company's revenue according to reports and it is a pretty decent store mainly for fashion and home - there isn't a great deal of food and drink here but there is a Joe's Juice Bar inside the department store, which seems to be common at many Åhléns locations including ones located in shopping malls around Stockholm County. The selection of beauty brands is much better than other department stores, especially other Åhléns locations. A pretty good store and a large department store, it might not be as impressive as NK nearby and lack a decent food selection but it is one of the two great department stores in the city centre of Stockholm and that surely warrants a four-star rating.

On an upper floor there are Swedish jigsaw puzzles and more upscale souvenirs but you have to roam to find them. On a lower floor where the T is, they have cheaper cosmetics including a Swedish brand, Isadora which is supposed to be good. There is an Apotek (pharmacy) on that same floor. One floor below that is a grocery, Hemkoft, which is quite large and pretty reasonably priced and good quality. I found it enjoyable just walking around and seeing products that are different than what you would find in a Macy's in the U.S..

It might not be the biggest shopping mall in Stockholm County and it also might not have the…read morebiggest and best selection of shops and restaurants - especially when compared to Taby Centrum, Galleria and the Mall of Scandinavia but Mood for me has that little unique spark about it which the other malls don't have - a right combination of modern and hipster with a focus on independent retailers, with one of the few big chains here being a usefully located and nice branch of Starbucks on the lower floor. It is also behind the huge, grand NK department store which is one of the city's oldest department stores. Don't come here just for shopping - well that is a main part of it but the experience here is much different to the other malls of the city and I think that offering of something different is what makes this mall unique - it is pretty swanky inside, reminding me of a modern-day rendition of Afflecks Palace in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. As far as I recall all entrances are step-free, you can either go in at the main level either side of Starbucks or down a side street where there is a small lift - but do be careful using it though as the lift has a grey shield which goes so you can't see out of it, don't make the mistake I did and think that meant the lift door was open - this is the first time I'm actually complaining about how clean it was, the lift was so spotless it looked like the door wasn't there at all! There are also ramps when needed. I did find the toilets hard to locate which seemed to be the only thing not stated on their store directory. This isn't an ordinary shopping mall - if you want to come here and shop till you drop this isn't the place for that but it still is a pretty cool addition to the shopping scene of Stockholm and actually in the city centre - which is often limited due to the huge taxes of over 50% imposed by the council! 4*

I entered the small shop and scanned the various offerings for the perfect little knick-knacks to take home. The shop keeper was ok with me touching and moving things around in my attempts. Prices were fair and the selection was plentiful. So, if you need to get a few gifts, Indus is probably worth checking out.

Warning to Parents - Mall of Scandinavia (Solna)…read more I want to share an incident that may be important for other parents with small children. In baby lounge, my child was injured when she fell. There is an alarm button in the space, which I pressed. The alarm began sounding loudly, but for approximately eight minutes no staff came to the location. After waiting about eight minutes for someone to arrive, while my child was crying hysterically after hitting their head, I was forced to take my child to medical care myself because no one from the shopping center's staff ever came to help. During this entire time, the alarm was sounding loudly in the children's feeding area. I am writing this so that other parents are aware that visible safety features do not always mean that help will arrive within a reasonable time.

Mall of Scandinavia is the largest mall in Sweden and the third-largest in the Nordic countries…read moreafter Sørlandssenteret in Norway and Sello in Finland, the latter is only 952 meters squared larger, however - so it is rather close. Being in Solna, it is in Stockholm County so you can still use your SL pass to get here via the train or metro, I would, however, recommend the train due to the close proximity of Solna Station compared to the metro which is a much larger walk (it involved going under a bridge which no GPS seemed to be able to navigate causing me to get lost for over half an hour) - of course Solna Station is quicker by commuter rail too, just seven minutes into Stockholm City station. The mall is quite new as it opened in 2015 and it still feels pretty modern in most areas - I do like the flat escalators to get from the entrance and car parks up and around the mall which is more accessible for anyone and I really do prefer them to escalators and find them to be highly underrated and underused. The mall is huge being over three floors - there is even a confusingly named floor "0.5" which can only be accessed through one lift - getting to this could be better. Floor 0.5 provides access into the Friends Arena, home to AIK and the Swedish national football team which is a stone's throw away, directly across from the mall - alongside Vapiano. (A chain I had much struggle with during my time in Sweden) Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield owns this mall they also seem to own many other malls around the country - I did find the layouts between this mall and others including Taby Centrum to be similar in the sense the same signs which say "go forward for x store or toilets etc" were the same look and font - and although there is no individual branding for the mall company, they do seem similar. Westfield does have some pretty great, cool malls back home in London so it was no surprise when I found out they had an involvement here! I did find it hard to find staff members around the mall to get help when needed - such as finding lifts and certain stores which was a shame as it seemed they only had the larger and anchor stores named on the overhead maps - probably because they're an anchor tenant and paying them more money. With brands including JD Sports, Clas Ohlson, Hugo Boss, Adidas, G-Star Raw, Foot Locker and more they do have a good selection of stores which are big brands and international names which we have in the UK, (other than Clas Ohlson sadly who made the decision to close all of their stores here) as well as Swedish stores like Apotek. The mall's website states they have 44 restaurants but I still can't help in being disappointed with the selection - after some bad experiences with service at some of their bigger brands including Starbucks (large store upstairs, but downstairs it is too close together, cramped and uncomfortable), O'Leary's (unauthentic, AWOL staff) and Vapiano (staff don't seem to care, rudeness, slow wait times). There are other places, which aren't really brands - none of which screamed out at me or looked too exciting - Top Floor being hidden on the highest floor of the mall and in a car park was surely strange. Overall, especially considering the high taxation which if offputting to stores in Stockholm city centre this is a pretty good mall. Is it the best in the area? It's close but no but that doesn't mean the need to take anything away from MOS - while it might lack the contemporary, central feel of MOOD and perhaps the better service and Apple Store you can see at Taby Centrum - it's still a large, modern and cool mall and one of the better places to shop at the city, made better in a way by the city's two other malls as they all offer different things but here at Mall of Scandanavia, they have a great selection of stores, it's in a good location for access to Stockholm city centre or the Friends Arena so still warrants a good four-star rating.

This store may be small but it seems to have the best curated selection of handcrafted Swedish goods compared to others. It does mean one may have to look up and down in addition to sideways as yours truly did in order to find something :) I was about to walk out with something small when I saw a very nice necklace for my wife just below my field of vision in the showcase at the checkout. The owner will gladly explain everything about the merchandise. Highly recommended.

I have received some as gifts but had never visited the store itself until now. IMO this is a unique place in Sweden, or anywhere. There are two sewing machines right in the store, and everything is made in Sweden. The designs are delightful and the fabrics are workmanship are quality. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at the prices! The dollar is strong right now and these items were much less than I thought they would be. I bought a computer case, a makeup case, some dish towels and other gifts. Don't miss Hilda Hilda when shopping in Stockholm!

Worth the trip!…read more It's a little bit out of the way from the main, central parts of Stockholm, but it's easily accessibly by subway and the Acne Archiye is worth an hour of your time. It's a small store and you won't necessarily go in and "find" what you're looking for but instead, a unique piece or two might "find" you. The store has a whole range of Acne clothes and accessories, usually from older collections. It has a totally, totally different vibe from the other Acne stores in the city and feels almost a bit like thrifting. Great organization and emphasis on color coding and I'm always impressed by the range of different textiles and fabrics they have for sale.

The store has so many areas specialising in different things from food to beauty - many of which have their own names, making a mini shopping mall with different parts of the store having their own Yelp listings - it would have been nice to see a technology section here similar to modern department stores, however. The store is step-free, apart from the grand main entrance which has steps going both up and down. This store is even worth visiting just for the grand nature and beautiful architecture which is remarkable and surely stands out in its' location, close to tram/bus services and T-Centralian. There wasn't a great deal of staff around the floor, other than those who might work for the individual stands within NK rather than the mall its-self and the store can be a little difficult to navigate at times due to its size- surprising for a high-end department store that employs 1200+. A remarkable, impressive department store just to walk around for the look and feel of the store alone - bare in mind it is pretty high-end and affluent, like a Swedish Selfridges. 4*

The NK has top local and international brands. With a selection unrivaled in Sweden and impeccable customer service, the store attracts a decidedly upper-scale urban local segment. It claims 12M visitors p.a., including the random foreign business traveler like me. Joseph Sachs' founding vision was to make NK 'commercial and cultural theater.' The vibe at the NK is what I imagine Saks was like in '50s New York. Let's call it earnest coolness. There's more of an emphasis on quality workmanship and active curation of wearable fashion (rather than couture) brands like Peak Performance, Ralph Lauren and Gant. Less so the likes of YSL or Prada.

Gallerian is one of two (I think?) malls in the city-owned by AMF Real Estate alongside MOOD…read moreStockholm, ( an area which is also dominated by two large Westfield malls) - inside it is pretty modern and cool as it was rebuilt in 2011 after it originally opened in 1976 and 2004. The mall was the first major indoor centre in Stockholm's inner city and has since been followed by several. It was with the establishment of the Galleria in Stockholm that the "mall" became an expression of glazed shopping malls. It does have a strange layout however and some parts of the mall aren't as nice as others - I went in through a Victoria's Secret / Starbucks building where I had to go down in the lift and past H and M before going into the area - at first you wouldn't know you were in the mall, rather than a passageway of shops - it was confusing and non-branded, but other entrances into the mall are rather prominent and bold. Many other stores do exist here, including big names who are flagship retailers here: Nike, Hollister, Superdry, Ecco and MediaMarkt. - There's also a Clas Ohlson. One of the food areas looked great and included the hilariously named, Bastard Burgers. It might not have the greatest selection of stores compared to other malls in Stockholm and it's website (planning before you come) might also lack, but this is one of the better malls in the city centre, supported by MOOD Stockholm from the same owners which is a couple of minutes away offering a totally different shopping experience - I just feel the two places complement each other really well. 4* - A good, modern shopping mall and one of the best malls in central Stockholm although the selection of retailers and everything else surely can't compare to the out of town malls sadly, but that shouldn't take away this is a pretty cool place which I was able to get to on foot from the Old Town (Parliament and Royal Palace) and Central Station in such a short walk.
