We came into contact with them when we needed someone to do extensive tuckpointing and repair work on two old stone walls leading into a basement garage on our 70-year-old house, but we were having trouble finding a company that was interested in just repair and tuckpointing. We eventually called a high-end concrete and masonry contractor that specializes in large and elaborate masonry projects and asked them for a recommendation and they provided Masonry Craftsman's contact info. I called Pete, Masonry Craftsman's owner, and he offered to stop by and take a look as soon as we could be available. When Pete first came to the door, I mentioned in passing that we had at one time wanted to replace the front brick entrance stairs that he was standing on but had found it would be prohibitively expensive. The stairs had been a bad DIY project by a previous owner that resulted in two super-steep steps that were a chore for most people to climb. I told him that we had spoken with several contractors in the past and they all said we needed to tear them completely out and replace them with poured concrete for a huge amount of money which we couldn't justify spending on the house. Pete took a look and quickly proposed a plan to insert two additional brick steps into the stairway, and also mentioned that he could tint the mortar and use some extra brick we had of the same type so it would all look original to the house. He quoted us a price that we felt was reasonable for the work involved in order to repair both the walls and to redesign the front steps . Long story short, Pete and his assistant Dave were able to start immediately and finished the job a day faster than promised, and it all looks terrific. The stairs were particularly great considering that we thought we would never be able to afford to do anything to fix them. The idea Pete came up with is not only very functional and allows people to enter and exit the house without climbing gear, but it really matches the character of the house. Our walls also look very nice as well and Pete and Dave cleaned everything up thoroughly before they left. We usually cringe at the thought of having anyone work on our house because it often results in disappointment, but this is one of the few times that we have had our expectations exceeded, and both Pete and Dave were very pleasant to work with (they even fixed a small cracked area in our neighbor's sidewalk for free with some leftover mortar). We will definitely call them again for any masonry-related jobs.

HORRIBLE! Aaron told me his company has over 20 yrs…read more experience restoring and building decks. I soon found out he's the only employee and lacks knowledge and skills working on decks. I have weeds growing out of my deck boards that sits 5-6 feet off the ground! My deck frame/support boards measure 3", he put a board 2 1/4" on top leaving a large gap for dirt, debris and water to collect and sit on top of my deck frame/support boards underneath resulting in weeds. This will also cause rotting on my deck frame/support boards. Railing boards were cut short and uneven too. He was cussing throughout the whole project replacing deck floor joists, floor boards and rails. He couldn't lift the joists and had to wait for a friend of his to come help him lift them, it took him 4 days to remove the wood screws in my existing floor boards grinding away at screws using the wrong bits or stripped bits. He said it was due to his battery on his drill being low but this happened everyday. I asked him a few time to make sure he picked up all the wood screws so I wouldn't get a flat on my riding lawn mower. I ended up finding almost 20 screws he left around my deck and yard and had to buy a magnet sweeper to make sure I picked them all up. It took him over 2 weeks to complete, a job that should've only taken 3-4 days. I know because I've had this done twice before. He spent a lot of time on the phone answering calls and returning phone calls to people while he attempted to work on my deck. When I told Aaron about weeds growing out of my deck, his response was it will cost me to come fix it and he sent me an invoice. He expects me to pay for his mistakes??? He proceeded to tell me he was a one man show and he has no retirement (his words). Like this is supposed to make me feel sorry for him and an excuse for shoddy work?

He's guided by his religion too. Take that for what you will. But, it's pretty easy to hurt people then ask for forgiveness in the sorry box. They low balled me on the numbers left on my door. There's NO WAY anyone could paint my house for the $5,750 quoted...with an additional discount of $1,500, so $4,250. I had over 10 quotes 4 years ago. The price they quoted on their flier was less than half of the lowest quote I got 4 YEARS AGO. Run, do not walk from this group. I trust what I flushed this morning better.

We knew there was a risk of the job costing more than quoted because of shoddy materials from the previous roofer being used and Chad, our sales contact, was up front about that from the get go. We didn't end up using their financing but the process to apply was quick and simple. Then they had their gutter contractor come out to replace our gutters as well and they look wonderful (and work which is what matters most!). While there were issues, concerns or miscommunications we were always contacted quickly by Chad or Frank, their foreman, and walked through the problem with as much care as possible. Victor construction initially told me they would be replacing my roof as well as my gutters. However, only the roof got replaced. When questioned, they claimed it was a clerical error on their part and did not do anything to correct this. Not only that, but the roofers ran into my garage door causing it to need to be replaced. Victor Construction took very little accountability, making the roofer pay for the new door out of pocket. When I asked Victor roofing if they were insured, I never got an answer which increased my anxiety about the situation. After a week, the door was finally fixed but I had to make a lot of phone calls to get progress made. I also did not have the contact information of the person who broke the garage door for several days. As a first time home buyer and being new to this type of work, I felt taken advantage of during this whole situation. When my realtor tried to communicate with Victor Construction themselves, they were ignored and I was called because I had less experience dealing with these types of issues.
