I would rate my experience with Dr. Weinstein's office as two star for the following reasons:…read more 1) They didn't have a time available for about four weeks out from when I called 2) They rescheduled an appointment we made within two weeks of the date 3) They made my appointment at a different location than my original location without letting me know (a location a half hour farther away) 4) They do not take calls during the normal lunch hour (12-1pm) and about ten minutes before or after, making it hard for a person working a normal job to speak with someone. I drove out to their office, an hour drive round trip, twice because of miscommunications about rescheduling and the location of the appointment. I was not able to make it into an appoint from Oct to Dec of 2014 and decided to move onto another doctors office because of it. I have had no issues with any other doctor I go to (dentist, primary care, etc) like I have with this one. I can only speak to the schedule and service part of their business, but regarding those I would not recommend this doctor's office.

The doctor needed to isolate the tooth in question, and he did. I felt a sense of confidence about him, which put me at ease. He offered solid advice and I was in and out in with very little waiting. They were very easy to get ahold of, and the receptionist genuinely sounded caring and explained the processes and expected costs of the procedure from the first call. I went to the Fayetteville location, and the staff was on time (doesn't always happen with medical offices) and got me right in the chair. I was feeling a bit nervous, and said so, and Dr. Maloff and his dental assistant were understanding of that. They offered me laughing gas if I needed it (and told me the cost! Which I liked!) but I ended up going without after talking with them. They explained their process - instruments/sharps would pass over me on the right so I should signal with my left hand hand, and they told me most everything that would be going in and on my mouth and what they would do. I asked them to talk a bit since that puts me more at ease, and they did, to the point that I was laughing at their conversations without laughing gas during a root canal! (It is a little weird to cackle with your mouth full of stuff though.) I didn't feel any pain during the process. After I was done I was given good instructions regarding the care of my tooth, and encouraged to contact them if I had any issues. There was a little tenderness in my cheek for a few days after but it was nothing compared to how the tooth felt beforehand. I really liked that the doctor, his assistant, and all of the staff, had a very easy rapport, and clear trust, where you could tell they had been together for some time. Regardless of which of their four locations they're working at, (Liverpool, Fayetteville, Auburn, and Watertown) the doctor and their specific assistant work together. I think the communication between the staff and their patients is a strength of Modern Endodontic Specialists, and while I was nervous going in I left feeling very relaxed, and informed. I would definitely recommend Modern Endodontic Specialists.
