Dr. Brown did my second surgery back in late August (although it seems like yesterday). He was very good at telling me exactly what was happening. He kept me in the loop and explained everything in simple terms. He answered any questions my Mom and I had. After my surgery was done, he went out and talked to my Mom and explained what happened. He also didn't seem to mind me talking about my cats. When I went in for my post-op appointment a week later, he asked me about them. I also feel like Dr. Brown's thorough and cares about me. I think he felt bad for me when I told him how 2 of my cats kind of acted like punks after my surgery. One of them knocked my glasses case off of my nightstand the night of my surgery. When I bent over to pick them up the next morning, I had pain bending over. One of my other cats jumped on me when I was in bed and stepped on one of my incisions. I plan on seeing Dr. Brown for my yearly exams from now on. I went in yesterday for another post-op exam. He asked me about my cats again. I was a little emotional talking about one of them, Mac, who got really sick last year and passed away. He treated me with dignity, respect, kindness and like a human. I feel lucky.

I came prepared with my paperwork early, only to be told that I had an invoice from 7 years ago in 2016 for $168 that I had to pay upfront or they would refuse me. I could not recall the invoice and it was the first time it was brought to my attention as they had not mentioned before I arrived in person. The office were given multiple opportunities to bring it to my attention and I would have had the opportunity to address it then. I explained I did not have the funds to pay for an invoice that I could not recall ever receiving back in 2016 let alone not knowing who my insurance co. was back then. I don't recall receiving an invoice from Women's Wellness in 2016 and I am very organized and conscinetious when handling invoices. The registration clerk rudely asked me how would they know if they could trust I would pay my invoice for today's services. I explained and trying to assure them my invoice today 12/16/2025 would be handled because I have medicaid they flat out refused to keep the appointment and I did not receive my exam. Instead of thinking of the care of the patient, the money somehow reconciled from seven years ago, that I don't agree to being valid at this time, was put as the priority over my care. I will never return to this office because of the inhumane treatment I received. Try to understand I walked out of the door not to be rude but because it took a great amount of energy to make it to the office and you never know what is going on with somebody so put some kindness in your practice.

The second I stepped into this PP I felt immediate relief and comfort. Every single person along the way was incredibly kind and attentive. I touched base with about 8 (yes, 8!) staff throughout my appointment process (from front desk to nurses and doctors) and I always felt so safe and completely heard. Aside from the comfort the staff brought me, they are all very knowledgeable and I never felt like anything was done only half way. I traveled about an hour to visit this Planned Parenthood as opposed to one closer to me and it was so worth it to leave feeling more whole than when I arrived. Some of the doctors are great. Some are not. Some seem to really care, some act like you are a…read morebother. So it depends who you get. I really like my doctor but you get scheduled with all of them depending on who's available. The Sonó lady in room 3 is by far the best (blonde with glasses). She really tries to get a good picture of your baby. The others rush through your sonó. Getting to see your baby is the best part and it would have been nice to get a somewhat good photo. I don't like how they take blood In The room up on the high angled patient seat. One nurse refused to let me sit in a normal chair even after I told her I have fainted when I have given blood before. She was so rude. The nurses also don't answer the phone. Like ever. You have to wait for a call back which is sometimes frustrating. Also the receptionist at exit, desk furthest from door is not easy to work with. I tell her I need later afternoon apts and she gives me a hard time about it every single time. The others are more than willing to accommodate. Sometimes the wait to see a doctor is terrible. I waited 45 mins multiple times and the nurses never even came back to check on me to let me know it was going to be a while. I thought I was forgotten. I do like it here overall and will continue to come here even though it's a bit of a drive. Just some feedback for improvement!

I went, and here's the kicker...they won't release my other test results and records I signed a release for in order to pursue treatment at this clinic (unless I want to re-do those tests and waste more time and money). April Summerfield seems nice but it's a struggle to get her to listen to anything I say. Her nurses/the admin team are either grossly incompetent or seem uninterested in doing their jobs at all. She outwardly mocked my questions while mid-pelvic exam, which was demoralizing and dehumanizing especially as an assault survivor. She convinced me everything was all in my head, and there was no possible way anything was wrong. Even with abnormal test results, she never did more than annual exams and pushed birth control pills. Needless to say she was entirely wrong and not only was I right, I ended up having uterine cancer that was barely caught in time to save my life. Not to mention the years and years of suffering that was NOT normal and NOT okay. Medical malpractice is very difficult to pursue unless you die, but I'm certainly going to be pursuing as far as I can go through NYSED and the Office of the Professions. It's absurd that the moment I transferred my care I was not only being listened to, but a pelvic ultrasound was immediately ordered due to the SAME EXACT symptoms I had reported to this "NP" for years. Women - if you suffer from any abnormal reproductive issues please avoid this office, your life could depend on it.

I have been coming to this practice for over 18 years since I was pregnant with my first child. A…read morefew years ago I went in for my annual visit and I brought up some concerns and issues I was having I was not taken seriously and I was treated like a drug addict looking for pain medication. When not once did I ask for any pain medication I was looking for help with my issues. I left that appointment crying because I was so upset. I then went on the Internet and did a lot of research on my own and figured out my issues and resolve them all by myself. I then came back for another annual visit and I requested a different nurse practitioner because I thought well maybe it was just her I am now having different concerns and issues and at this time this nurse practitioner did not take me seriously either. When I asked her if we could do a hormone panel or something to figure out what was going on with me, she then said I'm so sick of this TikTok trend. I don't even use TikTok and then everything I tried to bring up, she tried to negate all of my symptoms, as if she was in such a rush and didn't wanna bother looking into my issues. Needless to say, since this was the second poor experience I've had in the last couple of years. I will no longer be returning to this practice. I want a doctor that I can talk to and express my concerns and have them taken seriously I have since gone to another doctor and there is a real issue that they failed to look into it is extremely heartbreaking since I have been going there for over 18 years they delivered both of my children. I just cannot believe how bad it's gotten there. I shouldn't have to leave my doctors appointments crying, and so upset.
