Alfredo responded to my request for a quote quickly and he and his brother came to our house to look over the project. We have a small yard,so we had a hard time finding a landscaper to come out to give us a bid. Alfredo gave us a bid right then and there and also set up a date to start the work. An entire crew showed up on the day agreed upon. They had all the equipment and materials. They spent the entire day working, removing bushes, updating and rerouting our sprinklers and drip irrigation system. They brought in new plants, river rock, red humus and even built two garden boxes out of red wood. The crew was respectful of our property and our neighbors as well. We were pleasantly surprised when they chose to wrok until 8pm (on a very hot day) to complete the project. A few days later, I contacted Alfredo because our sprinkler clock was not working properly. He stopped by that day and replaced the clock. Now our new garden, plants and grass are being watered on schedule. We were pleased with the price, the work and the professionalism of this crew. When I sent the pictures of my brass pipes to some contractors, they simply stopped responding. In comparison, Alfredo's crew came out, took a look, and then completed the work two days later with no fuss, and no muss. I am thankful for their dedication to getting the work finished, and making sure to keep me updated from day to day about the completion status of the work. The crew installed a key valve, since my old brass pipes were connected directly to my main water line without a shut off valve, they cut out the old brass pipes that had corroded and sealed themselves on to the PVC pipe for the sprinklers, they replaced all of the valves with new anti-siphon valves, and made sure all of them were in excellent working condition. Importantly, they also took the time to install new covers so my pipes will be protected from the sun. My sprinklers were a mess, and I now feel like they are ready to last me for years.

When it was time to plant new things, we didn't know what would grow best, what wouldn't have a million bees (like our last shrubs right next to the pool), what plants would look best together, etc. Right away after calling Natural Landscaping, Jessica followed up and brought a drone by to get images of our front and backyard. From the images, she designed an outline of ideas for our backyard and front area and showed them to us via a Zoom meeting. She was so helpful and sweet. She has a fabulous eye for design, which is wonderful. After that, we had a few decisions to make about plant selections and we spoke with Ryan (their human plant dictionary). He had so many specific plant recommendations for different ideas we had. He spent time with us to know what we were looking for. They were able to schedule us well within the window of time they estimated (a few weeks earlier in fact) and got our job done quickly. Their team of guys worked hard and were so friendly and respectful of all property. Nothing was broken. No trash or cigarettes left behind. Although we were originally looking only to put plants in the backyard, we ended up doing the following: FRONT YARD: Removing and replacing 3 trees Removing existing hedges and replacing with boxwoods Pouring concrete to make a front porch area Removed all random shrubs & ugly plants and replaced with beautiful plants that compliment each other Installed a drip system to everything and even fixed some sprinklers for the lawn BACKYARD: Built a garden area with planter boxes, rocks and pavers Planted new greenery and plants around the entire yard Planted 5 trees and a cool succulent area with amazing rock accents The mulch looks great. The drip system is WAY better than what we had previously. We couldn't be more excited about all the work and how it turned out! My husband was hesitant about paying people to plant plants and install drip because he can technically do that, but he was SO happy we ended up hiring people who knew SO much about plants, how to plant them with all the things they need to stay alive, and to just take care of all the odds and ends that would have taken us at least a year (of weekend projects). It took them 3 days and boom, done!! We added some solar lights and string lights a few days and our space looks so inviting and different from how it's been the last 8 years!! The Lakeside HOA hired California Tree and Landscape in early June to trim numerous trees…read morethroughout the property. They do a nice job trimming trees, however, they're terrible at cleaning up. The workers left the Lakeside ponds a mess with leaves, sticks, and debris. The inability of the workers to clean up after themselves speaks to the character and integrity of the workers. The workers should take pride in their work, care for the property, and show respect for our home. Cleaning up after making a mess is just as important as trimming the trees. In the future, treat the property like it's your own home. I will not recommend California Tree & Landscape based on the mess they left behind at Lakeside. As a homeowner who pays into the Lakeside HOA, I was disappointed in California Tree and Landscape.
