I was referred to Slava by an iPhone repairer. I had an issue with the physical components of my MacBook Air after kids ripped the top of the laptop from the bottom. It was still operational however I had to prop the top half o to something else. Apple quote was over $500. Another two quotes were to replace the entire screen even though it was fine. $395 & $295. SynerLogic Electronics Repair is outstanding, why you may ask!?!?! let me shed some light to this business. I am a owner of a "2013" 2TB w/Disk drive MacBook Pro (MB.P). Prior to knowing anything about SynerLogic I was distraught because my MacBook Pro (MB.P) crapped out, the screen was white and would take forever to load or the (MB.P) wouldn't even load to the main screen. That was one stupid issue, My second issue was that the track pad was cracked. I went bananas because I thought someone accidentally stepped on my (MB.P) i took my MacBook to a mom and pop store that I saw a booth for at the San Diego county fair in Del Mar. They did a free diagnostic and told me that my GPU (graphics processing unit) is what caused symptoms of the white screen and not loading up. The reason for the cracked trackpad was because of the battery expanding. The repair store recommended that I take the laptop to the Apple Store because there was recalls before with my specific year/model MacBook and they MAY/MAY NOT fix it for free. I followed up with they're suggestion and went straight to the Apple Store. At the Apple Store in La Jolla they also did a diagnostic and came up with the same issues. I was told they do not cover that type of damage and to replace a GPU and everything else would be very expensive , They suggested I consider buying a new laptop. (It's not worth fixing, they said) sounds like they want to scrape my pockets. Hmm!?! ----------------------------------------------------- Now to the good part of my story: I was surfing the App Offer up and came across SynerLogic Electronic repair and it caught my attention. I messaged Steve @Synerlogic and told him all the problems I knew about my MacBook. The GPU, cracked track pad, and bad battery. Steve said no problem, he can Reflow my GPU, and If I wanted to fix my cracked trackpad and replace the battery all in one shot it can be done. 10/25 My wife dropped of the laptop for me and he got straight to work on it, and off the bat he knew what to start working on. I believe it only took him an hour or two to fix all the problems and it was all a success the computer looked pristine once again. Steve texted me and kept me updated on everything. Steve @ SynerLogic is very very flexible with his hours. I was not able to pick up the laptop for a couple days because my wife ended up giving birth the next day. So, he held on the computer for me until the weekend. I texted Steve to come pick up the Laptop, he quickly responded and said he will be looking out for me. **Meeting the owner** My first time meeting Steve, he's a very nice person, reliable, honest, and highly skilled, any tech repair questions there's no doubt he would probably be able to answer them. I like that he broke down every step to me of how he fixed my computer. Taking is all apart. Because of his expertise i learned there was a lot of dust built up in my laptop fan which caused a lot of problems, overheating issues etc. **Location** Steve works out of his personal home office, he is legit, and personally I really think he does a way better job then going to a store, he takes pride in his work and doesn't treat you as just a number. I've gotten the run around other places. ***Tips*** He gave me tips on how to maintain my MacBook and keep it from having this issue in the future. Come to find out as well, random, but my laptop is actually a "2011" Model and not a 2013 weird that's something that stumped us both. If I could give Steve more stars I would! Im currently job hunting and was about to start updating my resume when I opened up my older macbook air, I heard a pop-zap sound! Instead of it starting up like normal, the screen was very dim. Pressing the button to make the screen brighter didn't work and neither did restarting. I called around a few places describing my failed backlight and some places quoted me over 3x what Steve ended up charging me. AMAZING SERVICE AND PRICE! I recently dropped my MacBook Pro and the screen LCD had a crack on it, leaving the image completely unusable. I contacted many places around San Diego to find the best quote possible and found Synerlogic Electronics Repair Mac/PC to be the most affordable with excellent service. Many other places I've came across quoted me for a brand new screen, some even for labor cost (one place told me it would be $120 for labor) and some told me it would be a couple days until I can get it back. Steve, the man running the business, conveniently had one more used screen left for my model and would be able to replace it at a used discounted price, have it back to me in 40 minutes, and with no labor cost!! I mean, it really doesn't get any better than that! Granted, this is based off my own specific experience; Steve having the right part at the right time with it being a relatively easy and quick fix. Out of all the computer repair places I've been to, Slava, as smart as he is, genuinely cares about your experience as a customer. You may think your issue is one thing and all the other places agree (of course), but Slava goes a great length to make sure that is really the issue and if not, figures out what is really going on. I had an issue with my backspace and space button on my Lenovo Flex 3 laptop, but all these other places were telling me to get a new keyboard and that it would cost me around $100-$200 that includes parts and labor. To me, the price was ridiculous. Slava was skeptical of the others as well and with his magic touch was able to figure out the real issue and only charged me $25 for it. I bought an i7 MacBook Pro for myself this year and had problems with the USB ports. They were both faulty or in and out of usability at different times. SynerLogic took a look at it last Wednesday, and among drop off they cleaned, inspected, and researched the problem or fault to make sure it wasn't a typical user, or misuse error that could be easily corrected (which was very appreciated). As I assumed, it was the worst possible case that would require either repairs or replacement of the Logic Board. This would be a $450+ repair if the Apple store or even other independent shops were to do it and just replace the board. SynerLogic took the computer in for less than a week, and had it back to me in perfect working condition for less than a third of what i would have paid else where. With a 30 day warranty! I use my laptop everyday, and the time that i don't have it i lose out on ALL of my valuable resources. With that being said, I would trust SynerLogic with any of my future repairs based on how prompt, professional, and trustworthy they were. What can I say! Savva is a freaking genius! Initially I had taken my broken Mac pro to DC computers, where they almost cost me $1,500 through their negligence. 4 weeks later, they told me there's nothing they could do and and that I should just scrap my computer for parts. Thank God I got a second opinion at Synerlogic! Savva took it in and had it up and running in less than a week. It was definitely a more complex issue, and I don't think the average computer repair shop technician would have been able to solve it. I originally found Synerlogic by all the fantastic reviews, and now there's nowhere else I would go for Mac repairs. Slava has always been extremely professional, honest, communicative, and does outstanding work. When I first came to him, I had a older macbook pro that I had spilled coffee on. The Apple store had already charged me for a diagnostic and basically told me it was junk. It was hard to accept that so I brought it to Slava. Within about a day or two, he texted me that it was fixed! He found that all it needed was to replace a fuse, and his cost was more than reasonable :) Months later I had another problem with a different macbook pro. Slava immediately identified it as a known issue and knew how to fix it. Again, a day or two later it was fixed. Unfortunately about 2 weeks after that, my computer wouldn't even turn on. Apparently the logic board had gone bust. Dreading having to buy a new board, I asked Slava about the cost. His reply was that it was covered under his service warranty, and he had replaced the board for me at no charge! Amazing!!! Hopefully I won't have anymore issues with my computers, but its good to know I have a computer guy I can trust. read more
