I've been coming here three days a week for about 6 weeks now for two completely different injuries and am recovering better than I could have expected. The best thing about this place is that instead of a sterile waiting room and awkward patients you see but never speak too... this place is very open and friendly. After just a few weeks everyone around me was talkative, interested in your recovery, and willing to share great stories of either weekend warrior tragedy, stair cases that had of been possessed, car accidents that are always someone else's fault, or even the bar top that attacked the drunk stripper's kneecap. Man I love this place.

Wow, for a many people as there are on…read morethis installation and for all the construction going on - money certainly hasn't been thrown at the fitness center. The weight room is always super packed. To me, the cardio room is awkwardly arranged. I have had ample time to "study" this. I think the ellipticals, treadmills and stairmasters appear to be placed haphazardly, but someone thought that was a way to shove in more equipment in a small area. Not sure, but I hate running and looking straight on at someone 5 feet away on an elliptical. They do offer several fitness classes, but I have not tried any of those out yet. The biggest draw here seems to be the basketball court - it is always overflowing with people. Bottom line - not a great gym, but has what is needed for a workout. Maybe this part of the Ft. Lee garrison will catch up with the rest of the installation's upgrades.

I just left the YMCA with their set hours and the closest thing they have to a smoothie bar is the water fountain. I chatted with the owner who is also a personal trainer and barber....multi-talented and very nice. The young lady that worked there gave me a tour of the place and was quite informative. The young man working the smoothie bar whipped me up a tasty drink with a scoop of protein(impressive)......to bad I live 3.5 hours away so I guess it's back to reality but I will definitely return for a workout on my next trip. I've been going to Chiropractors since 2000. In those eighteen years I've probably been adjusted by…read morearound twenty different chiropractors. Most chiropractors give me an adequate adjustment but every now and then you find a Unicorn. That rare chiropractor that adjusts you using the exact techniques you prefer. Every chiropractor has a unique style to their adjustments. When I moved away from California I had to leave my favorite practitioner. I've been less than impressed with current offerings around Richmond. They say good help is hard to find, well try finding a good chiropractor. I had taken a break from chiropractic care when around five years ago my ex-wife mentioned Dr. Walentin. I was apprehensive at best. Then she said "he adjusts like Dr. De La Fe" and my ears perked up... OH REALLY? This is quite the high praise since you never forget your favorite. Now I wish I could tell you what Dr. Walentin is doing exactly. I can't honestly say if it's the Gonstead vs Diversified vs Logan Technique but it's 100% what I require. I need a proper adjustment and I need my Chiropractor to really get in there and put things back into proper alignment. I don't like the gentle tickle approach. I want to feel it. My hips and neck constantly like to go out of alignment. It takes some strength and skill to put me back together. If you're like me and require a somewhat aggressive adjustment this is the place you're looking for. Dr. Walentin's technique is first rate and I can't go to anyone else. I've had Dr. Walentin adjust everything on my body. The joints in my knees, my wrist, my elbows, and even this bum ankle of mine. Usually we focus on the spine but the good Doctor can adjust every single joint on the human body. The man is a miracle worker. I typically visit once a week for routine maintenance. When I moved away from Mechanicsville to Midlothian and drove to the man's house. That's how serious I am about my Chiropractors. A good Chiropractor is only as good as their office manager and the charming Cecilia completes the total package. Her professionalism and kindness are second to none and I'm happy to be a loyal patient. Heck, you're talking to the original patient of Advanced Laser Therapy & Chiropractic. In closing, I've only used the Laser Therapy once and since my elbow pain has subsided I can't speak to that very much. What I can attest to is one of the finest chiropractors in Virginia if not the country.

I'm always convinced that people who say chiropractic didn't help them is because they went to a bad chiropractor before. Dr. Walentin is great! And he is never late for his appointments for the last 3 years I have gone to him. I also like that he has affordable payment options and doesn't even bother with using insurances, my insurance was always a higher copay than what he charges to begin with. The more visits you buy at once the more discount you can get. Truly a great practice and great people!
