She also appologized for the tickle in her throat! I wanted to run and shoud have. I ruined our christmas as I did get sick. From the very first appointment they were thorough, kind and informative. I was there weekly from Feb 2024-Feb 2025 for Speech and Occupational therapy. It was hard work, and I wasn't sure if I would function in a normal life again, but they worked hard with me and now I can do the things I was doing before. They altered a lot of material, and even came up with new material for me to specifically target my symptoms and my unique mental processing. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for CNS. I highly recommend them. Lisa Morrow- Virginia Beach, VA

From 2004-2006 another local neurologist was treating my daily migraines and many other symptoms from the (as of that time undiagnosed) permanent brain injury that I received in the dog attack. This other neurologist's ONLY treatment for me was Vicodin, which was not helping me, it was only making it worse. He did not listen to me nor do an MRI. At the time that I first went to CNS I was barely able to speak in full sentences. Each morning would start with me being sick, from waking up with a migraine, so I could not be around bright lights w/o extreme pain in my head. I had a severe balance problem causing me to fall down three flights of stairs fracturing my spine in several places. I could go on, but you probably get the picture. Dr. O'Shanick listened to me. He properly diagnosed me and helped me with O.T., Speech Therapy, got me off of the Vicodin and on proper migraine therapy. After two years of daily migraines and not wanting to leave the darkness in my home, I finally started to function again! I could remember words when I would have a conversation with my kids. The migraines slowly went away, thank the Lord! I stopped falling, learning how to deal with my balance being 'off'. In short, thanks to Dr. O'Shanick, I actually feel 'human' again. That can only be understood by someone who has suffered a brain injury. I do still have ringing in my ears, but unfortunately that is permanent. And hey, considering how bad I was, I'm doing pretty great! And I give all the credit to Dr. O'Shanick and his staff. Martinea Mease

I'm always convinced that people who say chiropractic didn't help them is because they went to a bad chiropractor before. Dr. Walentin is great! And he is never late for his appointments for the last 3 years I have gone to him. Him and his wife Cecilia, and all of the front desk staff, are so friendly and never ever pushy to come back more than you need like some previous chiropractors I have been to. I also like that he has affordable payment options and doesn't even bother with using insurances, my insurance was always a higher copay than what he charges to begin with. The more visits you buy at once the more discount you can get. Truly a great practice and great people!

I've been going to Chiropractors since 2000. In those eighteen years I've probably been adjusted by…read morearound twenty different chiropractors. Most chiropractors give me an adequate adjustment but every now and then you find a Unicorn. That rare chiropractor that adjusts you using the exact techniques you prefer. Every chiropractor has a unique style to their adjustments. When I moved away from California I had to leave my favorite practitioner. I've been less than impressed with current offerings around Richmond. They say good help is hard to find, well try finding a good chiropractor. I had taken a break from chiropractic care when around five years ago my ex-wife mentioned Dr. Walentin. I was apprehensive at best. Then she said "he adjusts like Dr. De La Fe" and my ears perked up... OH REALLY? This is quite the high praise since you never forget your favorite. Now I wish I could tell you what Dr. Walentin is doing exactly. I can't honestly say if it's the Gonstead vs Diversified vs Logan Technique but it's 100% what I require. I need a proper adjustment and I need my Chiropractor to really get in there and put things back into proper alignment. I don't like the gentle tickle approach. I want to feel it. My hips and neck constantly like to go out of alignment. It takes some strength and skill to put me back together. If you're like me and require a somewhat aggressive adjustment this is the place you're looking for. Dr. Walentin's technique is first rate and I can't go to anyone else. I've had Dr. Walentin adjust everything on my body. The joints in my knees, my wrist, my elbows, and even this bum ankle of mine. Usually we focus on the spine but the good Doctor can adjust every single joint on the human body. The man is a miracle worker. I typically visit once a week for routine maintenance. When I moved away from Mechanicsville to Midlothian and drove to the man's house. That's how serious I am about my Chiropractors. A good Chiropractor is only as good as their office manager and the charming Cecilia completes the total package. Her professionalism and kindness are second to none and I'm happy to be a loyal patient. Heck, you're talking to the original patient of Advanced Laser Therapy & Chiropractic. In closing, I've only used the Laser Therapy once and since my elbow pain has subsided I can't speak to that very much. What I can attest to is one of the finest chiropractors in Virginia if not the country.

They were able to provide what insurance covered and what I was responsible for. Upon arrival, the waiting room was about half filled but those were people waiting on their loved ones. After about ten minutes, I pre-registered and was called to the back within five minutes of completing the registration. The nurse, Sunny, was very friendly that prepped for the surgery. She was helpful in answering questions and ensuring that I was comfortable. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Handel, was nice and readily available to answer my questions. The OR nurse and nurse anesthetist were cheerful and nice. I've forgotten their names. I have a few complaints. The doctor arrived forty-five minutes or more after the scheduled surgery time. This seemed to be normal and none of the staff was surprised. I get it that things can happen, but to be late for surgery on a regular isn't a good thing. The doctor never disclosed this, but I found out that he has an interest in this surgery center and profits off of the money made there. I was asked to sign a form saying that I knew and understood this. This should have been disclosed well before the day of the surgery. After the surgery, the doctor never came out to tell the family how the surgery went nor did he provide a follow up appointment or any information. The recovery room nurse had the family member sign discharge papers and seemed baffled as to why the doctor had not spoken to the family nor provided a follow up appointment. This caused some confusion and the family was basically left to do what they thought would be best in care upon arrival at home. It would also have been nice for staff to show the patient how to use the crutches and walker, as far as shifting weight to the good leg rather than the bad leg for climbing steps, getting up from a seated position, etc.

Most staff were kind. In particular, Crystal, thoughtfully moved him to a quiet room for less stimulation. However, after multiple attempts to fabricate a physical ailment for a healthy man, the Anesthesiologist cancelled the scheduled surgery at 2:30pm, after he was fully prepped for surgery and had been there since 10:30am. This was cruel for the Autistic patient and mortifying for the surgeon who had booked the surgery at Boulders. Thankfully, the hand surgery took place at CJW the next day under a compassionate and knowledgeable anesthesiologist. Further training on disabilities and human rights is needed. UPDATE: Spoke with Bridget Roque, Boulders' Administrator "Per our guidelines if there is a behavioral component that we feel like the hospital is a better setting for we will cancel the procedure. We will review and cancel because we're not connected to a hospital and want him and our providers to be safe. We don't have that high acuity level of special-needs and we don't have that high-level training here. I apologize, and I wish it were communicated sooner and without looking for other excuses, but it's just the reality of what we can provide and how much training we can expect of our providers." They do not wish to pursue further training on disabilities.
