I decided to switch to a dr in Des Moines after being with a fantastic dr in Ames's but I made a mistake by choosing this clinic. I went for medicine management. I did not feel listened to. The second time I saw Brian, his shirt was inappropriately unbuttoned and untucked, he seemed hungover maybe (?) and the final straw on the camels back was that he got my doses incorrect. He read my medications out loud and the doses he had were totally incorrect. I corrected him but when I recently went to pick up one of the meds, the dose was way off! What should have been 10mg was 25mg!!! The front desk staff is friendly and really easy to work and schedule with. I chose this clinic because of their hours but I will not be going back. I have found a different dr in DM who is an MD. Maybe Brian is good for one or two meds but if you're case is more complex, I do not recommend. I cannot speak for the therapy staff. read more

I was told by a friend of ours that synergy is now offering Yoga, to my surprise the person offering it is a self proclaimed expert that used to work for the VA (for less than a year) and worked with my brother who has severe PTSD and wasted his time while on her phone or rushing his sessions. After complaining several times we learned that she left due to conflicts with staff and apparently it's a common occurrence, Des Moines is a small city and here we are ! she is not engaging, not prepared and is by no means an expert in any type of mental health treatment, what a joke! read more

You will be greeted by a friendly staff but will be left waiting for at least 20 minutes wondering what the heck your psychologist is up to because they're not generally seen a patient before you. In my experience, the most amount of time I have spent with my Dr has been 8 minutes. He was good but has never gotten to know me. Location is convenient, and it is easy to schedule an appointment. read more

Soooo....these counselors used to work for another clinic in town. My family used to see 2 of them at the previous place. Without much warning, they suddenly informed us they were moving into a new clinic called Synergy. It was all a little strange. A few weeks later, we get a letter from the previous clinic telling us that the counselors at Synergy had illegally accessed our files and insurance information and were all fired. Apparently, this is some kind of serious HIPAA violation. Needless to say, I'm cancelling all of our future appointments at Synergy and reporting them to the licensing board. There is some serious problem with their ethics and I don't trust my family's personal information here. Be warned! read more

The office staff is professional and the counselors are exactly what I was looking for. Yes, they came from a previous place. No, they didn't steal anything (as I read in a previous review) nor have I received any such letter. I have 2 family members who utilized 2 counselors and 1 still goes there. What they DID say was that I'd hear from our counselor with options and it was my choice what to do from there. Everyone, on both sides, made it clear their number one concern was my family member utilizing their services. I 100% appreciate that we are able to continue the relationship they have with their counselor without starting over and I see healthy relationships grow where they weren't before. Friendly, professional, and personally concerned for my family member (and me as a supportive partner in therapy) - it's tough to find this combination. It's not just their jobs, it's their passion and they are amazing at what they do!! read more
